"Clachnacuddin have parted company with manager Dave Mackay and club coach Rod Houston just under three years after choosing them as replacements for Robbie Williamson who resigned just under a month earlier.

Although there is no immediate announcement in terms of a replacement there are three obvious candidates in the form of Gordon Connelly, who was at the club last year, and Alan Hercher, whose son featured in a number of matches at the end of last season and former Buckie boss Duncan Shearer.

However youth coach John Beaton has been handed temporary charge until a manager is appointed"

The quote the chairman used to describe the Golspie result was "a real shocker" but there are many people who would use even stronger words than that to describe the way the club has been run (off the park) in the past few years.

Was always going to be tough for Mackay and Houston trying to follow Clach's most successful period in 30 years and with a much smaller budget than that enjoyed by the previous manager.

They barely had a team for the Fraserbourgh game but got a draw. Then you look at those out for the first couple weeks in the leauge and it's no wonder it's been a poor start.

3 games in-must be a record for sacking!

Dad won't be out of football for long.

Ian Polworth and Wad to be the new management team at Grant Street and new deal struck with the council and, hilariously, the bridge club to pay the outstanding money. It's never dull...

Over 10 grand?! I think I'll have to head along to the bridge club. I've heard about these mature woman.

They certainly do PRS. I think Wad will be the brains of the operation. In his work for the tax office, he once gave an impressive presentation to my work - came across as a smart and genuine guy. Also, he's always winning marathons so he'll keep the players fit. Oh, and he's a legend.

Did they get it together for a while? as in the 80's they were well mis managed, stories of the owner emptying the puggies in the social club, the leccy meter was fixed, etc etc...

It was just a thornbush spillover then though.

Apart from the sunday bingo of course.. laugh.gif

could either be the best time to play them or the worst

best time - new managers , new ideas , might take some time for their ideas to pay off , could be a lot of confusion

worst time - sometimes a new manager galvanises a team for a couple of games , as they go out to try and prove a point

pretty sure you will be hoping for the first option biggrin.gif

We've a funny habit of coming up against teams who hired new managers. When Clach hired their last lot, we were first up. Didn't go well that day. Rarely does in Inverness. Last time we won there was the season Clach won the league.

wad is indeed a legend, think ill head along on saturday to pay homage to the great man himself.
