Northwood are joint top of the RD1N after a scrappy 1-0 win away to Waltham Forest, played in the glorious Stadio del Ilford in Essex on a park that could easily have been mistaken for a bowling green. Its safe to say we have the league in the bag already. Enfield at home on Tuesday should be a hard game though, I think we'll only win 7-0.
I see AFC Wimbledon have made a great start in the conference south, 3 wins out of 3, two of these games have been won in the last 5mins as far as I know, hopefully they can get promotion up to the conference and finally catch up with the scummy MK Dongs.
I'll also be looking out for Billericays results, as they've signed Stevie Ferguson. Didn't do them much good yesterday though, losing 1-0 (to the Staines Massive I think).

Good start to Hendon's season, 3-0 at home against Dartford. Especially given the way they self-destructed in January to go from 10 points clear in 2nd to 7th by the end of the season.
Attendance of 389 too...that's astronomical by Hendon's standards!

We drew 1 each in pre season with Hendon, is that the guys that bring the union jack flag with them? I didn't get the chance to ask them if they paid £1000 for it, like Fife's Finest.
Edit, by the way, good result against Dartford, they are a bunch of p***ks.

Northwood go top of the league on goal difference tonight thanks to a brilliant (and I don't think that is overdoing it) 4-0 win over Enfield at Chestnut Avenue. We were quite simply awesome, could have been 7 or 8 were it not for the Enfield keeper making some excellent saves, in fact he was the man of the match according to footballmitoo.
Next up; Aveley on Saturday.

Was at a couple of English non league matches a few weeks ago when i was down in Bath. Tend to watch out for the results of Bath City (Conf south) and Odd Down and Larkhall Athletic who play in Toolstation Western league 1.
I was impressed with Larkhall who beat Team Bath 2-0 (friendly) and really should have won by 5 or 6, and Team Bath have started brilliantly in Conf south. Since then Larkhall have beaten Elmore 6-0 at home and won 3-1 at Portishead in the league and they won 5-0 at Liskeard in the FA Cup on Sat.
If only i could find an unsuspecting bookie that would give me a price on Larkhall winning that league this season as they will pish it. (they missed out on promotion on goal difference last season).
Also went to Frome Town v Yeovil Town Reserves which was a decent game that ended 2-2.
Just to add that Larkhall eased to a 6-0 win over Shrewton United tonight in the league.

I keep an eye on Marine FC in the Unibond League due to a good friend being a supporter. Was down there a couple of seasons back and it was a good setup and a friendly club. Hopefully they can do well this season and move up into the Conference North, good start with 6-2 and 2-1 victories in their opening league matches.

A 0-0 draw with a handy looking Aveley side at Northwood yesterday, it was always going to happen as I had some correct score bets, like 4-1, 3-0 etc.
AFC Wimbledon won again, and are top of the Conference South.
Billericay came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 v Wealdstone (Northwoods bitter rivals and former tennants), Stevie Ferguson set up the winner.

Westbury United had the audacity to score 1st against Larkhall yesterday before the Larks got their arse in gear
and ran out 1-3 winners. Already top after 4 games with 12 points, Scored 18 conceded 2.
Larks at home to Hengrove Athletic in the league on Wed night, then at home to Tavistock in the FA Cup next Sat.

FA cup for Northwood on Saturday v the pigs (Met Polis), need to bounce back from mondays 5-1 hammering!
I see AFCW are still flying at the top of the conference south, seems like 95% of their goals have been after 85mins? The guy Jon Main seems to know where the goal is.

Erm.....
Poor game on Saturday. Teh Coppers were probably just about worth their win but it was pretty poor fare from both teams. It took Northwood 85 mins to get the ball wide and put a cross in - unforgiveable on a pitch that wide.
Still the Social Club is good and the ground tidy. Pretty decent set-up all round.

The Social Club was looking even better at midnight when we gatecrashed some girl's 18th birthday party.
The game was depressingly bad, our early season promise has disintegrated. Two wins in the next week against Chatham Town and Potters Bar United are essential.
You are welcome back any time, just not within 100 yards of Chestnut Avenue. You can stay in the pub with ThirdrockfromtheSon whilst we watch an entertaining game for a change.

Former AFC Wimbledon boss Dave Anderson is the new manager at Northwood.
Neil Shipperley was also interested apparently, but we've obviously gone for experience. We're not completely out the play off race, so hopefully a good long run of wins is on the cards.
Oxford also sacked their manager on Sunday. No surprise. Jim Smith in temp charge

Anderson is a good safe pair of hands for the Woods. Just don't expect flowing attacking football. He'll build from the back and try and make Northwood difficult to beat. Ryman Premier is his level - he was found out in the Connie South with Wimbledon and Stale buns.

Yeah. My bad. Meant to say he had taken Wimbledon as far as could in the Ryman Premier and was found wanting in the Conference South with Stale Buns.
I hear on the grape vine that a few AFCW reserves will be heading to Northwood very soon.

Hopefully not unless they are exceptional, Woods own reserves are a talented bunch and deserve a chance first. If (when) DA adds to the team with AFC connections i'd take Ursall back if he can get fit, and (long shot) Stevie Ferguson as he'd be a great replacement for Sean Sonner and I don't think things are going too well at Billericay.
Think its quite a jaunt up here from where he lives though?
I regularly go to Darlington Railway Athletic (Northern League Division 2) games.

Too right, Colin Payne's downfall was that he brought in loans from other teams reserve sides instead of promoting from our own reserves who were winning every week. (the two boys from St Albans as a prime example, came once, were never seen again, even though one of them gave 75%). Now that the boys in the reserves have got their chance it sharpens everyone up, as the first teamers now have a fight for their place. Figueiredo, Danny Brown, Otis Williams and Laurie Walters are all potential regular first-teamers now.

Dean Mason (striker) and Michael Peacock (central defender) due to sign and play on Saturday. Be inteersted to see how they get on as neither have featured much for AFCW this season.
