Full Version: Qos 2nd Leg Live On Bbc
The Pie Shop > The Cups > Scots in Europe

Well done the BBC.
EastFootball
On one hand it's good that you're getting coverage, but on the other it's near-enough going up against several CIS Cup games.

OK, you're due to finish just as those games are kicking off, but it could still put off a lot of wavering travelling fans and neutrals.

That may be a disadvantage to the teams playing in the CIS, but it won't affect us, and I would assume that we will get a payment from the BBC

That's great news and I'm still annoyed they or any other broadcaster didn't pick up the first leg. It's great though they get the coverage they rightly deserve especially after their achievements of last season.

I look forward to seeing it

That's come out of the blue. I'd heard no indication we would get any live coverage at all. I can only presume that having lost out on the chance to cover Rangers abroad the rest of the season there's some room in the budget for this now.

So far as I understand European rules the home team gets all the rights fees for the transmission of their matches. I hope you're right but I don't think we'll get a penny. Still, it's great publicity and good news for those that cannot go. Credit to the BBC for it. smile.gif

Good, us lazy cutns will be able to see it

I shall listen on the wireless as I head to Kirkcaldy.

Aye, great news. Just hope the same applies for Motherwell. Scottish TV (as opposed to STV) really needs to get it's finger out and make the most of the opportunity to show any Scottish club in Europe it can. Let's face it, that opportunity is too often all far too brief.

Wonder who'll be in the studio - Des McKeown?

Brilliant news for everyone who can't afford the trip to Copenhagen. biggrin.gif
qos_75
Great stuff. I will get the good lady to tape it whilst I am in Copenhagen. I have the highlights of all the Cup matches up to the QF last season and the full Semi-Final and Final of the cup on SKY+. Once this has been taped I will store them on a couple of DVD's for posterity. biggrin.gif

Wh didn't they show the first leg?

They showed our first leg against Dnipro last year!

Och weel i shall watch and cheer on the Doonhamers (Is that how you spell it? blink.gif )

Splendid news.

I don't feel quite so bad about being unable to travel now.

Still gutted obviously, but not quite as bad.

Still terrible though - in fact this hardly helps at all, now I really think about it.

Quality news biggrin.gif will be able to see it now maybe the BBC waited to see if the 1st leg was tight or not before they decided to show the 2nd leg. As for not showing the 1st leg, maybe Queens didnt want it shown as it could have led to a smaller crowd, to be fair anybody that wanted to see the 1st leg could have got up off their arses ad went to the game, no?

Cheers BBC biggrin.gif

excellent stuff.

makes the fact that i couldnt get time off to go to Denmark slightly more bearable.

I'm surprised they are allowed to show this before the watershed. If our defence lines up and plays like it did in the first leg, it could be carnage.
I think I'll be too scared to watch.

Aye, let's hope lessons have been learned. No rain; settled back four; non-nervy keeper; AND THE DOBSTER TO START. Then we may not be watching through our fingers.

Not expecting us to overturn first leg but it would be great to give them a run for their money.

Well done, Beeb! cool.gif

They weren't interested.

Your game against Dnipro was a round further on though. Not a qualifying tie.

It's hardly Man Utd v Barcelona is it? I can't really seeing many fans not going to watch their side in the CIS Cup because this is on.

I'd rather watch another SFL team in the UEFA cup than Man Utd v Barcelona.

I'm talking about visiting fans and neutrals.

The CIS Cup struggles to attract fans at the best of times, but if

1) it's a relatively long trip,
2)  it's pissing down with rain and
3) there's a game on "cooncil telly"

Some travelling supporters may think twice about going.
