Word going about that a Manager was red carded for "racist abuse" at Southern Counties game on Wednesday night.
Anyone any info ? .

Vale manager speedy was sent from sidelines against annan. not sure if it was for racial abuse but he was shouting you "english B*****d" at danny dunglinson after he slotted home his penalty. dont make much sense mind you as dunga's from dundee.

This just sounds like it's been blown out of proportion. No form of racism can be tolerated any level but if it's been for calling somebody an "English whatever" then for me thats just pure petulance and shows the ignorant mentality of the person doing the shouting.

Used to play down in the Carlisle Sunday Leagues and we were just Jock b*****ds or wankers every second week.

As it happens the player was born and bread in Eastriggs so the shout then becomes irrelevant.

Blown out of all proportion Speedy knows the boy well and is well aware he is not English and having felt hard done to about the boy going down winning and then scoring a late penalty he attempted to wind him up.
At its worst it was a daft choice of words.

During my time at Annan I can remember constantly being referred to as an English b****** s despite being from Dumfries, Gretna also suffered the same during their time in the league.

Although what he did was wrong a lot of clubs in the South have been guilty of the same thing in the past.

I dont see it as being any different to any other names you could abuse a person with. We are trying to encourage people to take an interest in the league. Can you imagine what any visitor would think of our league and people of the area in general if they heard things like this being shouted and people prepared not to say anything against it ?

I dont believe anyone at Saints has been sent off for racist comments or any other team in the league in my time anyway.

At the end of this sort of behaviour has taken the SoSL back to the stone age and is annoying to think an established manager in the league would shout such a thing.

I do believe a small minority of saints fans and a committee member singled out Annan players with the English b*****ds chants during the Cup Final at St Marys last season.

To draw a line under this i'm sure big Speedy deeply regrets his comments last week and during quiet thought will be quite embarressed by the whole sorry situation.

I think this whole episode has been blown out of proportion. Yes speedy should know better but having been involved in this league for years i know that there are far more offensive things said at EVERY south ground, from players, management and supporters. Think the pc brigade on here need to take a look at themselves first, most of whom are probably tartan army members who shout anti english shite at every Scotland game. Someone in his position shoudve known better but let him get his punishment + forget about it. Maybe his forward manner has upset you sensitive souls so much over the years that the opportunity to gurn on here about something like this was too good to pass by?

This is only a suggestion but maybe we can do the "3 strikes method?" once is an accident,2 is careless and 3 is a habit type thing............then if someone has been silly or "should have known better" or has a "forward manner" this shit on here won't happen till the pattern has shown it to be otherwise?............

Stone age behaviour could also be used to describe the behaviour of a very high ranking Saints official during the first half yesterday where he was clearly heard shouting " cripple him " at a Vale midfielder.

Or perhaps the numerous " break his leg " shouts from the usual village morons at the sidelines.

Having been at the game yesterday, i too heard those shouts from the saints bench and faithful. Is that maybe because that player was running the show in midfeild and saints could not handle him!!

I notice all the saints fans are a little quiet just now after the moronic shouting at yesterdays game v abbey vale. I heard committee and fans shouts were a disgrace. Big speedy gets pulled up about nothing yet these clowns want to injure someone. Do these clowns not realise these players have jobs, families, etc. I know you can get injured at any time in life but shouting to "CRIPPLE" someone is a ludicrous.

A friend of mine and I took our two kids to this match and the comments from one or two of the home team officials was terrible and certainly not what you want your kids to hear. yes they will hear crap like this in life but for officials at clubs to go on like this is a giving the club the wrong image. i would suggest the chairman of the club addresses this the sooner the better

Got to admit the saints supporters have all gone quiet on this site after there awful comments and none more so than tartan alan, as he and his old boy were involved with the break his legs shouts in the 2nd half, If that wasnt bad enough the the person who shouted cripple him towards big alex was runnin the line in front of the stand no name required as you all know who does that at KBT. Surely its about time something is done about these morons and there shouts before an opposing player does get hurt by a young boy who will listen to what they are shouting and try and carry it out. And they had the cheeky to slate big speedy. And then they wonder why nobody likes them as a team. fucking clowns.

It seems both sides are as bad as each other.

As for being overrated if you think getting gubbed by Abbey Vale on the opening game of the season then winning by a goal at home on Saturday when there was nothing in the game as well as struggling to beat Creetown at home in between is worthy of being title contenders then you are sadly mistaken. Having played Annan, Stranraer and the Crichton already this season I am in a good position to say that you are well behind these teams .

What a bizzare world we live in. It's universally accepted among historians that Britain is a mongerel nation due to us being invaded numerous times over the centuries. Throw in mass immigration from the overseas colonies in recent decades and the concept of an English "race" becomes ludicrous.

Do the right thing nobody has ever denied what Speedy said it was a mistake and everyone involved including him admitted it and apologised.

As far as I can see nobody from Saints has ever come forward and admitted or apologised for calling Annan players English B******s especially in last years cup final or condoned the comments on Saturday which did happen.

I dont condone such behaviour but i never heard anything on saturday or last years cup final for that matter.

Sounds like sour grapes old boy i was at the game as a neutral and i cant comment on the linesman on dressing room side but the goal was offside and the challenge i think your talking about was just outside the box i was standing in line with it and there really didn't look much in it i thought the ref handled it well some of the lesser experienced refs would prob had a few more bookings and prob a couple of red cards. The dissappointing thing for me was the abuse the officials and Annan players recieved i have never heard as bad maybe saints should learn to lose with dignity instead of blaming others after all in football we all have to lose sometime and the goals you lost weren't they're fault so lets look at the big picture you lost live with it and move on to your next game

Sproule is a spineless cheat as is his linesman, Annan players threw the balls away in dissent if any decision was against them and he never he spoke to them.
The penalty claim was a stonewaller the man must have felt Shaws eyes burning a hole in his back(cant have his Annan team getting beat in a final). Travelled down to this final last night and was not dissapointed with the game and commitement from both teams great advert for non league football.

Must say however I agree with the comments from the previous post, some of the abuse directed at the Annan team and contingent was almost racial abuse, to their credit the Annan team in particular never rose to the bait and as a result the game never suffered.

Do the Saints fans act and shout abuse like this at every home game, the committee should take action before individuals or officials take action against them.

For whats is worth as a neutral i thought the referee had a good game .

I was in the stand with the "yobs" and it was a bit of chewing gum! and part of the reason was the cheek the left back was giving the youngester. fair enough throwing something at the player was a wee bit too far but shoutin at players, refs etc happens at every game players have to deal with it. and english b*****d was over the top aswell.

Well said i was at this match in question and haven't been back to saints this season the abuse was terrible and the 2 standing beside the stand who i think are father and son should take a look at themselves along with a few others with some of the remarks they were making. I now go watch Annan and I'm glad to say there is a bit of banter but nothing disgusting and as for the Annan committee they are a credit to the club and always make a point of speaking to the people who spend thier money to go watch the team well done to them. On another note I was one of the guys on here who said Annan would struggle glad to see they have proved me wrong!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure you have read this thread through correct Galabankie, but i was saying i never heard anything at the final fair enough if people come on here and say they did. None of the comments i made were about any crowd abuse so im not sure what your point is dragging up old comments other people have said.

Like i said if i heard it i would have been disappointed but i never.

Im not saying any abuse didnt happen at saturday's game and im not sticking up for anyone, but when you get decent size crowds at games you are always going to get wind up merchants in the crowd. Im sure players would rather play in front of a large crowd than a handfull you get at most SoSL teams as a lot of players love the noise.

It's only you (on this thread) that is asserting anything about race. Nationality is a different thing, but such discrimination is close enough to warrant inclusion under an existing law rather that introducing another slew of paper which says pretty much the same thing.

I thought all this had ended so the last thing I'm saying on the subject is next few home games stand near to the supporters beside the stand dont know if they are club officials or just supporters but what comes from them is disgusting and I'm sure if someone complained they would end up with criminal charges.
