This is coming from a thread on the Honestpage about playing clubs at more than one ground.
Ayr have played Hamilton Accies competitively at six different grounds. Somerset, Old Douglas Park, New Douglas Park, Cliftonhill, Firhill and Fir Park, and I reckon this must be close to some sort of record.
Can anyones team boast more?
The obvious teams to look for are:
1. Stirling who have had 2 home grounds, 1 season at Ochilview and also played cup games at Alloa, St Johnstone, Falkirk, Shire, Partick and Hampden and possibly others.
2. Hamilton who used Douglas Pk, NDP, Fir Park, Firhill and Cliftonhill;
3. Clydebank, who have had home games at Kilbowie, Boghead, Cappielow and Forthbank,
4. Dumbarton, with home games at Boghead, SHS, Cliftonhill and Kilbowie
5. Clyde with spells at Shawfield, Broadwood, Douglas Park and Firhill
Also think of neutral venues for 2nd Replays in the Scottish Cup - e.g. Brechin v Berwick at Easter Road, Stenhousemuir v Arbroath at Muirton, Berwick v Caley at Methil, St Mirren v Raith at Tynecastle, Airdrie v Clydebank at Firhill etc etc.
And the very unusual venues - e.g. Ayr v St Mirren 72/3 (League Cup) at Dam Park, Ayr v Rangers 72/3 (League Cup) at Rugby Park, Berwick v Killie at Tynecastle, Meadowbank v Ayr at v Tynecastle etc
Best I can come up with is 7 grounds:
Stirling Albion / Clydebank, at 7 grounds:
Kilbowie Park
Boghead
Cappielow
Annfield
Forthbank
Ochilview
Brockville
Stirling Albion / Hamilton at 7 grounds:
Douglas Park
New Douglas Park
Cliftonhill
Fir Park
Firhill
Annfield
Forthbank
Airdrie / Clydebank at 7 grounds
Broomfield
Broadwood
Shyberry
Firhill (Spring Cup)
Kilbowie
Boghead
Cappielow
Dundee United / Aberdeen at 6 grounds:
Pittodrie
Tannadice
Dens
Tynecastle
Easter Road
Hampden
Any advance on 7?
