After Iain Davidson's sending off on Tuesday against Albion Rovers there was concern that his conduct did not match that expected of a Raith Rovers player.
Iain Davidson said:
" I would like to sincerely apologise to all Raith fans, Directors, Staff and Players for my behaviour on Tuesday night. It was inappropriate and disrespectful to the Club.
As captain of Raith Rovers Football Club I should be setting an example and behaving in a better manner. It was frustration on my part. I was over enthusiastic due to the fact that I didn't want us to be put out of the cup, but I now realise that as captain my duty is to act in a better manner.
Since being given the captaincy, my discipline has improved and I will make every effort to conduct myself in an appropriate manner in future.
I can only give my deepest apologies." Chairman Dave Somerville said:
" As a result of issues surrounding his sending off against Albion Rovers, Iain Davidson has been the subject of internal disciplinary action by the Club.
Iain has accepted this action and has been man enough to apologise publicly.
As far as the Club is concerned the matter is now closed"
I never used to be his biggest fan but his discipline has improved so I would say give him one last chance but if he blows it not just lose captaincy but lose his jersey for good. What does everyone else think?

At this point, 8 Queens Park fans went into a rage. Please think of these fans before posting these threads.

What do you mean, did he have a

Fuck off out of the thread if it doesn't interest you.

Aye, fair play, at least he's come out and said sorry to us.
Hopefully we can move on from this incident and he can show us all what he's made of!!

Takes a big man to apologise, so fair play to him.
But still, Ellis for captain,

I know where you're coming from, but in this kind of situation does it really?
This is pretty standard stuff from the standard lunatic that many teams have had. Crazy sending off, then public apology afterwords, saying you were doing it for the team and the fans and you've learned your lesson.
It's probably not actually the first time he's made one of these public apologies either.
I wouldn't have expected anything less to be honest, and I think football fans are easily appeased sometimes.
All that said

Football fans are notoriously fickle. Saying that, we dont yet have a scapegoat and we're already two games in.

Yeah was talking about that last night with somebody and we both doubt it was him but more the chairman/manager who told him to do it.
We shall see how sincere it is in time as he should make sure those kind of stupid incidents don't happen again

For what it's worth, I think as he will be hit in the pocket and publically embarrassed by the club, that he is being punished enough. That is on the premise that he doesn't do anything else like that. On Tuesday night, he made a complete arse of himself directing gestures towards his own fans after HE got himself sent off for stupid incidents. Time to realise that he has been punished (apart from his inevitable cup suspension now), and move on. He is one of our better players, and although that doesn't allow him to be a tit on the field, he should be allowed to get on with his job now. Agree with giving someone else the captains armband though.
I'm going to kick off the praise for Davo by saying well done for reacting in a professional manner this afternoon. He was kicked by Cairney after being shoved off the ball...a lot of people were waiting for a reaction but Davo simply got up, looked at him and turned round to walk off. I'm not saying he is an angel after tuesday but at least he behaved professionally and didn't react after what has happened.

Davo hasn't been the same since his hamster died.
He sat for three days and nights with that little guy, praying to all the gods there are that he would pull through.
When Clive finally gave up his mortal struggle, something inside Davo died with him.
It's no wonder he's a psycho. But also it's no wonder he apologised. When he got back into that cold Cliftonhill dressing room, opened that locket and looked into those little beady black pearl eyes, he knew what Clive would have squeaked..........
