Sky's pundits are a bunch of premier league window lickers who know nothing about any other division apart from the premier league. There predicition is comical. What a surprise, prediciting the two biggest clubs to go up automatically. This will not happen. Also tipping Swindon for relegation, What planet are they on. Mid-table - Play offs beckon.

After being pretty down-beat about the forthcoming season, a couple of shrewd signings by Maurice Malpas and the return of Barry Corr has led me to believe that Swindon will be pushing for the playoffs this season.
In Simon Cox Swindon have arguably the best striker in the divison. Barry Corr, Billy Paynter, Lee Peacok all decent strikers fighting for the other spot along with young prospect Joyce he scored twice in Swindon's 3-0 win over championship outfit Plymouth. Brezovan the best keeper by a mile in league 1, linked with moves to Spurs and Celtic last season, all be it, to be 2nd choice.
Some goal in pre-season by Simon Cox in Swindon's impressive 1-1 draw away at Fenerbahce. As the saying goes, If Ronaldo had scored this, we would be hearing about this for months

Good choice in removing Stockport for Swindon

Just bet on Swindon to win the league e/w 50/1
Simon Cox to be top scorer e/w 40/1 (Just hope we don't sell him, 36 games 14 League goals last season in his 1st full season. Was on loan for 1st half of season until Swindon paid £250,000 off Reading for him)
Swindon to win league with +20 point handicap 18/1

Do Swindon not start with +20 points just to 'equalise' the Malpas factor?

After a good pre-season I have faith in Malpas. Although on our last good pre-season about 6 years ago we avoided relegation on the final day, mass pitch invasion and "we are the champions" is played over the tanoy

Leeds and Huddersfield to go up automatically.
Brighton and Clochester in the play-off final.
Even though they have lost Gillespie I don't think Cheltenham will go down.
Swindon v Tranmere, tough opening game. Not looking forward to going, about to p*ss it down and drank far to much last night

.
Swindon, Swindon, Swindon, Swindon, Swindon, Swindon, Swindon!
Great performance today, Helped by Tranmere's keeper being useless.
Antony McNamee, What a player! Happy to see Cox score since I have money on him to be top scorer.

Caught some of the Championship this morning, not quite League 1 but Jack Lester's chip for Chesterfield was top quality. Also can't see QPR winning the league giving defenders penalties just beacause they are on a hat trick even though they are only 2-1 up.
Cheltenham v Swindon this saturday. A derby match, not that it means anything to Swindon, Hard to get excited about it. No history or rivalry between the two clubs, Cheltenham just dislike Gloucester, where as Swindon's main rivals are of course Oxford, although now they are loitering in non league

, hatred and trouble between Bristol Rovers has increased due to being in the same division for past few seasons, other rivals being Reading and Bristol City. So going to be boring and drive tomorrow, takes longer to get out the side streets there then it does to drive home. Terrible ground, right in the middle of a OAP council estate, They have come way to far in short space of time.
Really fancy Swindon to get a result here. Last season McNamee just couldn't perform away from home, on his day, especially at home as good as anyone in that league, hence Portsmouth being after him, So hoping he can end his away day jinx tomorrow. Got to tip Swindon to win 2-0 tomorrow.

Should be a stroll in the park. Easy drive for me, although don't want to drive as I want to drink. Quite a few nice bars near your old ground. You get bigger crowds now, so is driving a bit of a nightmere at football trying to get out? Can you still park at that business complex near your old ground? Your new ground is right by it, isn't it?

Dont park near the old ground - that will be a good 1/2hr walk to the new one. Park in the industrial estate behind Asda & Ikea. It's 5 minute walk to the ground in one direction and 5 minutes walk to the pub (Beacon) in the other.
It will take you 5 minutes to get onto the main roads doing it this way. If you park in Ikea/Asda you are likely to get fined £40 and it will take you an hour + to get out.
The Beacon is on Mount Farm Industrial Estate
I might even buy you a beer

Just seen the highlights of Bristol Rovers 6-1 defeat of Hereford with none other than Craig Samson in goals. What an awful 'keeper he really is, every-time he concedes another preventable goal he always has the audacity to blame his defence.

I actually feel a bit sorry for him. On a hiding to nothing. Alot of fans were unhappy with the appointement in the 1st place. When we lose, people quick to blame him. Although since he has been in charge our defence are all over the place. Sadly I don't think he will last till xmas, I hope he proves me wrong.
Opted not to go as I think we will get thumped. Also 2nd installment of season ticket comes out in a few days as well as looking at buying a new car. So wisely gave this a miss. Swindon will now win 4-3

Carlisle came from a goal down to beat Southend 2-1 and maintain their unbeaten record in League One.
Debutant Dougie Freedman had given the visitors the lead in style during the first half with a curling 20-yard shot.
But Southend lost that lead when Peter Clarke pushed Danny Livesey in the box and Danny Graham sent Steve Mildenhall the wrong way from the penalty spot.
Winger Cleveland Taylor then won it for the home side when he fired home a loose ball from six yards

See my comments in Leeds thread. But worse defensive and goalkeeping performance by Swindon for years today. Centre backs letting ball roll under there foot, Keeper making a calmity error. Lad who got sent off deserved to as two footed lunge.
