How do we see this going?

Hopefully we can continue after last week but Clyde could be buoyed by their last-minute equaliser last week.

As for the Dundee team, could be no change from last week if the trialists opt to stay:

Douglas
Paton Cowan Trialist Malone
Daquin Trialist McHale Gilhaney
Curier McMenamin

Subs: Roy, Forsyth, Mearns, O'Brien, Deasley

If Davidson is fit, stick him on the bench in place of Mearns.
SuperTommy
Rae said this morning “We can probably keep two of the three so there are decisions to be made over the next day or two" so i don't think they'll be trialists by Saturday, if they are going to sign they'll sign before that.

I'd keep Mearns on the bench regardless of if Davidson is fit, but apart from any last minute recoveries i think the side will be the same.

I'm confident we can keep our feel good factor up after last weekend and get a win at Dens.

Apparently Mearns played really well last night, so I dont think AR will risk Davidson just yet.

Apart from that, if the trialists are still here, I would say the same team. Although, Torres did well as well against Violet, his fitness seems to be a problem, so I dont think he will get ahead of Pozniak.
Kirky_Clyde
Looking forward to this one. We seem to have a not bad record at Dens since Dundee came down. Anyway I'd expect us to line up something like.

Hutton

Gibson Brown Higgins

Trouten Kettlewell Ruari MacLennan McGregor McLaren

Gemmill McKay

Subs: Cherrie, Ohnesorge, Roddy MacLennan, Clarke, McSwegan.

1-1.

VitalDees
Agree with the team but would rather have Daquin on the bench. Daquin didn't impress against Alloa or Ross County and in the pre-season games that he came off the bench in he gave 5 minutes work and stopped. dry.gif I don't rate Daquin at all. I seen Pozniak against Ross County and he didn't get in the game much, I wasn't at the game last night but from some reports is seems Torres would be the better option.

Anyway, I reckon we'll win this one. 3-1 Dundee.

Juan Sara
We should win this one but I'm not going to make any predictions.

Can probably see Rae bringing Torres off the bench to see how he would cope at this level.

That's not going to happen, he has been released.

It'll be interesting to see who Brown picks, as Roddy MacLennan and McSwegan both played well last night. Wilson is suspended and McCusker and Waddell aren't fit, not sure if McGregor will have recovered from his injury either.

Either:

Hutton
Gibson Brown Higgins Ohnesorge
Roddy Ruari Kettlewell McLaren
McSwegan Gemmill

OR

Hutton
Gibson Brown Higgins
Roddy Ruari Kettlewell Trouten McLaren
McSwegan Gemmill

subs: Clarke, McKay, McGowan, Ohnesorge/Trouten and Cherrie.

We have quite a good record at Dens, but we are quite unpredictable at the moment.
GypsyTillIDie
Is Lauchlan fit for Dundee?

If so, Brown'll have McKay up front with Gemmill. I don't think big Jim could cope with their pace.

Not really, any team who plays against Rab Douglas in goal have always got a chance of scoring a few, he is a total bombscare.

2-1 Clyde.

Rab Douglas is one of the best keeper's in this league and could probably still do a job in the SPL. Rab, Gallacher and Main are the best three goalkeeper's in the SFL. He was amazing on Saturday, AMAZING and even with the defence looking vulnerable at times (first half especially) I thought we'd still keep a clean sheet because of Rab - he was immense.

Hi MR R smile.gif
David W
I would've thought that last night would put our entire support off playing 352 - clearly not laugh.gif

I'd go with:

Hutton
Gibson Brown Higgins Ohnesorge
Ro. McLennan McGregor Trouten Kettlewell McLaren
Gemmill

Ruari in for McGregor if he's still injured. I fancy us to nick a point on Saturday.

Not too sure about Trouten in the middle of the park.

Will Clyde be bringing their usual 'busload' or will you maybe have a half decent support through on Saturday?

I honestly not sure what I'd play in this one.

I'd go for a back 4, but Ohnesorge has made some concerning slip ups.
I want to give Roddy a game, but who do you drop? Problem solves itself if McGregor can't make it though.

I know one thing for certain, I'd start McSwegan in place of Gemmill. While Gemmill is energetic and skilful, but I don't see him scoring. I mean his record from last season was well... horrific.

Glad its not down to me laugh.gif

Not too sure about Trouten in the middle of the park.

He had his best game in a Clyde shirt when playing in the middle against Annan when he was deployed behind the front two in the second half. I'd say he'd be pretty good there.

I don't know. As it's the first away competitive game this season, I think there should be a fair amount.

Going back to Dens for the first time since Imrie had the cross land over your 'keeper. The game ended 1-0. Big Tam Brighton ran Boaby Mann ragged that day! laugh.gif

Back in the good ol' days...

Also, Ohnesorge had a bout of food poisoning on Friday night. He really shouldn't have played at all on Saturday, according to Brown.

History lessson gemmill actually scored 8 goals last season, he played in a crap team that were relegated, and missed about 12 games due to injury not a bad return after all.

The website said 6, and I can't be arsed checking it up.

I remember when Paul Brownlie was our top scorer (in division 2 when we finished 8th) with about 7/8 goals? Did he do well in division 1 when Arbroath came up?
wattie_rojas
That Roddy MacLennan looks ready to snap! He could struggle with the physical side of things in this league.

The thing you notice straight away about Trouten when he plays in the middle is his ability to find space. He's got a cracking first touch and goal scoring ability, so I think he'll work well in there.

When was the last time we played at Dens Park on a Saturday? We always seem to get punted to a Sunday or midweek so sod that. Haven't been up there since Dundee got relegated in fact and last night's performance against QP didn't exactly having me desperate to change that statistic.

I'll take a point now and that's probably how Brown will set us up. Not too optimistic but it's not impossible.

Let's see!

We've had five home games in two weeks, which has put some wallets under a bit of pressure.

We've not played at all well in our three competetive games.

The general "ambience" at Dens is not welcoming.

Hmm.... don't really anticipate any more than our "usual busload"!

As for the game, I can't see past a Dundee win, unless the pieces of the jigsaw finally fit together on Saturday.
