After securing the necessary holiday time off unexpectedly, I am now going to the match. I looked at flights and accomodation on Monday night and the flights from Edinburgh were quoted on BMI at £261.00. By Tuesday lunch time they were £332.90! Needless to say I booked them at this price. sad.gif

I am flying out of the 06:50 flight from Edinburgh on the Tuesday morning and returning on the Wednesday on the 14:25 flight from Copenhagen. I have also booked a room in the Cab Inn just off the city centre for £57.00. A few of mates are going the day before from Manchester but are staying at the same hotel, so I will arrive in good time to wake them from their slumber.

I eventually booked with SAS Airlines and looking at the small print it states the flight will be operated by BMI. They must be air partners.

Anyway, how are you getting there and where are you staying?

Do you have a screw loose? You could have went from Prestwick-London-Billund on the Monday, back Wednesday. Flights in total, including taxes are at £50 just now. Add £36 for booking with credit card (it's ryanair)

You paid £332.90 huh.gif

Well I could if I had the Monday off, sadly I don't. I also prefer direct flights where possible, spending half the day in an airport is not much fun. wink.gif

i would much rather do that rather than have to spend an extra £150 or so. Trains in Europe when you are away for the football are magic.

Are they just magic for the football? Or magic all the time?

Magic all the time for football, otherwise magic sometimes.

We were a wee bit too quick off the mark and had flights booked before the announcement that the game was on the Tuesday. Thought it would save us a bit of cash to get in quick. Changed our flight out with a £40 admin fee but decided to keep the original flight back and see a bit of the country.

Flying Glasgow to Stansted at 6:15am on the Monday morning. Stansted to Copenhagen on the Monday afternoon. Flying with Easyjet. Coming back on the Friday. Staying at Hotel Loeven.

It came to about £180 for the flights plus a £40 admin fee for the change. Four nights accomodation for £120 each.

Is it not a Bank Holiday in Scotland on the Monday. It is in England - therefore I can decide anytime from Friday night - Monday for my flights out. Take in a bit of Copenhagen sightseeing before the match

Probably head from Stansted. Going to check out skyscanner for lowest deals.

Also on BMI and in the CabInn, but leaving Edinburgh on the monday afternoon.

Spent a few days in the CabInn previously on a work trip, the rooms are compact to put it mildly and the quality of the landry dubious (bloodstained sheets yucky.gif in the first room I was given) but at least its well quite well situated and relatively cheap for an expensive town.

As you say it's cheap enough and in a decent location, so it should be okay to rest the head for a night. smile.gif

Glad i booked early

Our official packages with them last year to Gothenburg weren't much cheaper.

Most fans made their own way and most saved quite a lot.

Hope you all enjoy it- I never made it to either of Pars recent European away games sad.gif but looked quite an atmosphere.

Hope you do well smile.gif

I'm at a wedding in Maidenhead on the Sunday so I'm heading over to Stansted on the Monday and flying to Copenhagen from there. Staying the Monday and Tuesday night at the CABINN Scandinavia Hotel. Sounds like a few more Doonhamers will be staying there as well! biggrin.gif
Also the rail links from the airport to central Copenhagen and from Copenhagen to Farum seem very regular. Which is good. thumbup2.gif nologo.gif

See you there...that's the flight I'm out on.

Flying (SL)Easyjet 07:10 from Stansted to Copenhagen on the Monday and returning on the Wednesday 21:20 flight. Flights cost £75 and parking at Stansted will be a further £12

Rest of our party is flying direct from Edinburgh and we are staying at the Maritime Hotel which is in a quiet area between King's New Square and the waterfront and close to Nihavn.

http://www.hotel-maritime.dk/index.asp?language=uk

It is also handily placed for most of the cultural sites and well away from the dodgy area round the Central station. ph34r.gif Hotel was £90 or so a night for a single room and £112 for a twin.

Also really looking forward to the trip. smile.gif

I was waiting for the official package to come out before arranging anything then (to cut a long story short) it was sold out by the time I tried to book it.

I know - if I was a real fan I'd hitchhike my way there or whatever. But I'm too old for that and the official package was exactly the hassle free journey I was looking for. sad.gif

Get yourself searching now mate, I am sure there will still be reasonable prices to be had. smile.gif

Edited to add:

Although I note the 06:50 flight out of Edinburgh on the Tuesday morning with BMI is now fully booked. The next one is out of Edinburgh, 09:30 I think and a return will set you back £360 with taxes now.

Fly out Tuesday 26th
Departing: 10:55
Arriving: 13:45

Fly back Wednesday 25th
Departing: 14:25
Arriving: 15:20

Total cost £360.90.

Edit to add -

My main concern now is the hassle and cost involved in getting to the stadium from Copenhagen. Anybody any solutions to this?

You may find this site useful, I was using to look at options for City's match in Denmark. Type in "Kobenhavns lufthavn" for the airport even though it's supposed to be an English page. wink.gif

From the looks of things its not going to be a hassle mate. Trains run run every 15 mins from Copenhagen to Farum.
Just stick in your desired departure time. I'm aiming for 2pm. It takes 55 mins to get there. smile.gif. Of course I have no idea how much it costs but if your paying that much for flights then it should not be a problem. wink.gif

The train also goes across the bridge, Malmo is quite nice for a stop off, Gothenburg is also only 3 hours or so away and connected by a decent rail service.

Can't believe people are worrying about getting to the ground/airport/etc this is Europe we're going to not third world Britain.

NOBODY has their away leg ticket yet. The club hasn't received them yet.

There's been a change of plan on that front. We'd been told they had been despatched from Denmark but apparently they hadn't and in fact whoever it is that is coming over from Nordsjaelland to watch us at Dunfermline tomorrow is bringing them in person. So they won't go out until Monday or Tuesday instead. Don't panic.

We'll get a news item up on the new official site today about this if the thing ever launches. dry.gif
