Well I'll be attending my 2nd Clach game this weekend as I'm up in Golspie. Split loyalties and I fully expect Houstie to get some pelters! laugh.gif

I'll go 2-1 to Clach.
The Howden End
Good luck Golspie. Get right in about those tinks.

Mon the Clach!

Looking forward to my second Clach match in a row!

Rowan, were you along at the Fraserburgh match too?

Any B&B recommendations in Golspie would be good!

Howden, I am most certainly not a tink as I have a double barrelled surname and speak posh Fife.

Can't believe you're going all the way up to Golspie Jonathan! I'll be missing the 2nd game in a row - this time cos i'll be at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

Roll on the 16th when we can all give Robbie Duncanson pelters!

No worries. I was thinking you were having (understandable) second thoughts about this season's adventure. Glad you're enjoying it so far.

I am enjoying it, but I've only been up for the one league game so far.

Based on last weeks performance, I can't see Clach losing a goal, so I'll predict

Golspie 0 Clach 2

Your best bet is probably the Glenshee Guesthouse seeing as it overlooks the football park, you wouldn't have to bother going to the game wink.gif

Think Clach will win it comfortably, Golspie haven't even played any pre-season games so this is their first time out, should be at full strength as far as I know, same squad as last season I think.
TheScarf
Clach should do well this year becasue the guys from the youth setup (which im a part of wink.gif) are starting to break into the first team and these guys have actually been taught how to play football from the age of 13/14 and have a bit of technique about them, unlike most of their counterparts in this country.

After you've attended your first home match and stood with all the jakeys behind the goals in the wine shed i doubt you'll be in too much a hurry to come back somehow

Good luck though laugh.gif

Being posh, I expect to be sitting in the stand, with a black & white tartan (so far the Menzies tartan looks best?) blanket to keep me cosy.

Being a Raith fan, from Fife, I will never have visited really scary towns and grounds in Scotland... wink.gif

No I wasn't at the match only other Clach game I've been to was the Edinburgh City game and my post match comments to the assistant manager were ' do you expect to be in a job on Monday?' laugh.gif I just happen to be home in Golspie this weekend to catch this game!

I'd reccomend Blair Mhor or Granite Villa smile.gif

Or as dco1 above says Glenshee overlooks the pitch, I just forgot about it! oops! Maybe because Blair Mhor is a long standing friends mum's and I'm hoping for a favor from Grantie Villa over Christmas I may have been bias!

A Caley fan who'd wear Clach colours, give Clach money & cheer Clach on is a turncoat, whether you like it or not.

OF hater? No such thing as OF. 2 entirely seperate organisations, 1 without any morals, scruples or dignity, and of course, The Rangers.

Was it Rangers fans who failed to organise the big event?
Was it Rangers fans who decided to pull the plug on the big screen just before kick-off?
Was it Rangers fans who supplied thousands of kids with slabs of lager all day?
Was it Rangers fans who dressed in riot gear and steamed into women, children & anyone else?

Just you believe what the papers tell you mate, forget about the hundreds of hours of CCTV that GMP wont release.

Maybe if we'd had an aeroplane diverted, rioted in an airport, raped some holidaymakers, robbed some hotels, and boooed Zenit St Petersburg as they were presented with the trophy, we might have got a UEFA Fair-play award like the filthy hooped scum got.

No, we get fined for singing, they get an award for shooting, raping & applauding terrorists.

OLD FIRM? f**k off, no such thing.

I saw plenty on TV on the night, unless you're telling me the live footage of you lot wrecking Manchester is part of the continued Papist conspiracy that pervades football worldwide and all an act for those watching at home, like a football version of Capricorn One.

Still, not to worry, eh? Your club has saved you the bother of embarrassing yourselves in Europe again this season. laugh.gif

Bit in the papers today along a similar line mentioned by a sheriff. Was a guy from Golspie who got done for speeding en-route to Manchester, said to the court it was a bad day all round for all Rangers fans, Sheriff says to him "I see there wont be a repeat this year". Got 6 points on his license. smile.gif

2-0 win for Golspie, well deserved too. Not sure what Clach were playing at, very uninspiring.

A penalty missed by each side, Golspie had one cleared off the line too, not really any great efforts from Clach.

That was Golspie without their two first choice strikers either, who scored 80-odd between them last year.

That must be up there with one of Clachs worst results of all time and thats saying something as they've had hundreds

Clach and Fort being eliminated by non league sides clearly shows the sadly declining standard of the HL

Fair play to Golspie and Shetland though bet there were some serious hangovers this morning biggrin.gif

Golspie have come on a bit recently, and dumped out EoS League opposition (and Scottish League applicants) Preston Athletic in the Scottish Cup last season.

Fort are fucking shite tho. laugh.gif

Certainly Golspie feel that for the upcoming Scottish Cup draw they would fancy almost any of their fellow North FA clubs. All the quality in the Highland League is in the East now and it helps Golspie attract players because they know they can play in the same cups as the local HL teams while also traveling less and playing in a winning team.
Jimmy Shaker
If Golspie get Fort, Lossie, Brora or Rothes at home, they'll probably win. Also Clach laugh.gif

Nairn and Forres might have a bit too much tho.

Probably, never know though. Like I say, Golspie have been improving and were without some of their best players yesterday. Defended well but one of the regular centre-halfs was playing in the cup final at Wick, while the first choice strikers were unavailable. Should all be back for Wednesday night against Wick though.

There's some winnable ties to to be had in the cup anyway, I notice teams like Hawick don't seem to be very good but it would be a hell of an away trip ohmy.gif

Just back home in sunny Fife! (had a wee day at Culloden today) Well that was a flippin waste of a whole weekend? Different performance from the Fraserburgh match last week. I must say that it was one of the best penalty misses I've seen in a while from Clach. Holy crap!

A couple of points... I'm wondering if Clach have adopted the 4-5-1 Rangers away from home tactic? They look like a team that will never pull back from 1-0 down in an away match? Also, wondering the players coming back from suspension/injury had an affect on the team make up.

Anyway, spent a good day and night in Golspie. £1.50 for a can of Bru in the Golf View (that rhymes).
