I suppose no one is over-excited about tonight's game against Albion Rovers, but does it not at least warrant a mention? I for one am going and have never been to this ground. I hear its a classic, and very easy to find and park. Is this true? Will we play our strongest team? Will the other Rovers give us a game? blink.gif

you might be able to park on the main road right near the ground....it's very easy to find..as are most football grounds.....look for the floodlights.

Christ, another one!

There's a thread running over on the 'Domestic Cup' forum, which is why there's been no mention of it in here. wink.gif

Yep you can't start a cup thread in the division forums unless you are a Stenny fan as they are special rolleyes.gif

I think you showed us up for what we are, just as I expected. If we fail to beat Queens Park on Saturday there will be crisis in the air at Starks Park.

No there won't. On what basis will there be? It's the second game of the season, ffs.

I think there will, especially if we fail to score again. We've scored two goals in 6 games, one against Stenhousemanure, one against Rangers from a keepers mistake in just about our only chance, failed to score against a weak Hibs that even Cowden turned over, created next to fukk all against Ayr, and now couldnt score in 120 minutes against ALBION ROVERS FFS.

And the club are proclaiming their strenuos efforts to secure promotion. They wont even spend a few bob on a decent forward.

If we fukk up against QP, one of the relegation favourites you'll see the reaction for yourself, mark my words.

You did indeed. Both your wide players gave us fits, and once they hit puberty they should only improve. For me Campbell and McGurn were only Raith players doing the business. The pitch was shaggy and I like to think that one man and a lawnmower might have improved our chances. Another guy with a string trimmer would spruce the place up a bit as well! A striker worth two shites would have been the difference for either team ohmy.gif

You're right. I've not even been to a competitive game this season and I'm already dreading Saturday. Can't see us winning at all.
ARoverinLeeds
To be honest i've tried to be positive, but imo this team is very weak. 3 fit strikers and still can't find the net, something just doesn't add up. If we don't improve by christmas i think McGlynn should do the decent thing and walk away, 210 minue's without a goal you workout the math. this isn't any kind of moaning this is M&S moaning sad.gif

For fucks sakes laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Give it a fucking rest, two competitive games. One against probable title challengers, a game in which the other side had nixie chances either.

And a cup game, where, as we all know, league postions don't matter. A game in which we did in fact dominate, and were unlucky - not incompetent - not to score.

Have you been to a game this season? If you have then fair enough, but if not, i don't think you're really in a position to say that just yet.
Big_Andy
Although I'm definately not a fan of McGlynn and his tactics (frankly I see him as Dalziel with no hair), I think it would be wrong to ditch him - yet. The end of the season is the best time, not at the start or mid way through. Anyhow, we would have to buy out his contract (2 years). We are stuck with him the now.

On the game, we should have went in at half time with at least a five goal cushion. Their keeper made Tam Carson and Rudy Pussynancy look world class. Missing a very soft penalty summed things up. How we never breached their goal was unbelievable. Inevitably, Albion came out second half much better, and had TWO open goal chances within minutes of each other. In my opinion, between the second half and extra time, THEY were the better side! They should have also won, as their 'goal' looked ok to me......

Still, credit to the Albion fans who call that Kazhakstani looking ground home. They remained in good voice and humour despite us playing a major get out of jail free card.

As a follower of the Coatbrig Rovers, i enjoyed the match very much last night: it could have been 6 or 7 nil by half time, but we somehow hung on! Queen's Park make me physically ill, so you have my best wishes for stuffing them on Saturday. Cliftonhill, as you saw last night, is a work of art.

I can't blame you.

Honest clubs like wee Albion Rovers battle away for survival, while the caviar-munching 'jolly old chaps' down at Hampden continue to live it up on the SFA gravy train.

Indeed, Charlie, dear chap. Shawhead Rover has it quite correct. On another thread, one of the subsidy junkies is whining about the price at Starks. He's obviouls too used to being subsidised for decades.

The hight of hypocrisy.

He's whining about paying a fiver (if that) more than he would at Hampden.

Does he think Raith have access to the SFA gravy train ? laugh.gif
