MonTheRovers!!
According to FanTalk anyway.

I didn't see him due to me being on holiday, Was he any good?
rw89
I'll see it before i believe it. He was decent. Showed a bit of creativity although he did play a bit poor against Dundee utd. Until more than one fan comes saying he has signed then i'll remain scpetical.
Big_Andy
Apparently he is being offered a Juan year contract, and gets a club Ford Siesta too! tongue.gif

I really doubt it. One guy says it in the match thread on fantalk. haven't heard anything else about him signing, anywhere else.

That was fucking rubbish! tongue.gif

I agree that he looked a decent payer, although I really think that if we're looking for a midfielder, a natural left sided player should be our priority. I think Ferry would be better off played in the middle, same with Sloan. We currently have a large enough amount of centre midfielders already as well IMO. Our apparent lack of firepower upfront is also far more of a concern at the moment too.

I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good signing, merely that there are more urgent areas needing to be looked at.

Of course, I've heard nothing from an official club source yet, and I remain sceptical that he has indeed signed.

If true, it will be the first time in four years that we have a surplus of players in the central midfield.

Depending upon how you view our U-19s we either have three fit strikers or five, if you include Tam graham and Lee Bryce....

Knowing our luck he play's in the Spanish 14th division.

I was going to say I'd wait until it was announced on the official site before believing this, but unless I've missed it, we still haven't 'officially' signed Kevin Smith!

If true, he looks a decent enough player, someone who is good with the ball at his feet and looks to have the potential to carve teams open. A midfield of him and Walker is potentially very good in my opinion. Saying that, he was caught in possession for Dundee United's fourth goal, but we all make mistakes!

If this is true, of course. wink.gif

I agree with Michael W though, we could have done with a player who can play wide left - I'd assume that's now a shirt for Ferry and Sloan to fight over though.

Correct so its unlikely you`ll know if the spaniard has signed till he appears on the team sheet wink.gif

Here's hoping, I still can't understand why he played on the right on saturday

Neither can I. McGlynn put Sloan on the right a few times last season, and it was quite clear that he struggled when put out there. Dunbar looked like he had some ability when I seen him pre-season, I was quite surprised when he was left out.

We now seem to have an over abundance of centre midfielders - Walker, Silvestro, Sloan, Ferry, Spanish guy, Davidson even. I'm pretty sure this more or less confirms McGlynn plans to use Davidson in defence this year.

As for Sloan v Ferry on the left, I think both players would be better utilised in the middle. Sloan has a very good passing ability which is wasted on the left IMO. Ferry showed in flashes what he is capable of pre-season, but he hasn't quite managed it consistently in any way yet. I still think he has more to offer than he has shown so far. Back to the argument in place though, neither has much pace, but Sloan has decent crossing ability, and is useful from set pieces, so I'll go with Sloan.
pantene proV
Hopefully at least one from our abundant midfield will become a regular scorer 'cos we still don't have a striker that will get more than a dozen goals in a season.

It was a protest at the posters on here, that wont credit him with an assist from a set piece.

All the Fife scrubbers will be getting themselves lined up for a Spanish plunge at the weekend
Paco
Good signing, maybe. Start him and Walker in the middle please McGlynn!

What I'm saying here honestly has no reflection on Tuesday night, but if this Carreras continues to show the promise he did against Hibs, then I can honestly say there is no place in the team for Iain Davidson. Campbell and Ellis are more than comfortable enough at the back, and hopefully we'll be saying the same about Walker and Carreras in the middle. I don't think he's good enough in midfield anyway, but McGlynn clearly does.

Incidentally, I can't find anything at all on this Carreras fella, so god knows what Spanish pub team he used to play for! laugh.gif

Wonder if he'll swagger about the town's 'clubs' in his shades like his agent Prest, and Patino did!

Although, it could be that's just an Argentinian thing..
