I can't agree with that just yet. They've only played 3 games, won 2 and lost one. it was abad result for them yesterday but it's a bit premature to write them off just yet.

Agree SOS fan but that is one really bad day at the office for them, looking forward to hearing how many players they were missing etc but Threave have to be congratulated for puting them away in some style.............also agree Annan will be very strong this year...scoring lots of goals already

I think the current top four - Annan, Threave, Stranraer and Crichton are the favourites for the title and the winners will come from there.

I haven't been taken in by the Wigtown bandwagon, its one thing bringing in a lot of players, quite another to win games consistently over the whole season. I was told last night that a number of their squad were not at Meadow Park yesterday because of a stag do so it seems that might be the reason behind the scoreline.

I wouldn't include Saints either TBH. I don't think they have a squad good enough to be regarded as title contenders at the moment although I do think yesterday's win over DBT Star was a huge result and they will have a say in where the championship ends up.

As for Stranraer, I just wonder if the financial problems will have any sort of impact on the South team. What I mean by that is if money is tight, Derek Ferguson will be wanting as much of it for the second division team and not wanting to see it diverted to the souths for whatever reasons. His and the club's priority will be staying in the second division.

Really looking forward to going to see Annan v Crichton on Wednesday night. Has the potential to be a cracking game as has Threave v DBT Star - could be an interesting night in the title race even this early!

saints wont be up there this year either. i fancy annan this year but threave/crichton are strong + wont be far away.

Annan still have a handy group of players which leads me to believe that they will remain up there. You've got to think that Harry Cairney will have a squad of about 18 players every Saturday for SFL games so anyone not involved in that pool will probably be playing South League football that day.

I don't think DBT Star will challenge, I reckon Paul McGinley will fancy a crack at EoS Premier title so he won't want to take too many chances playing players in South games.

Mind you, it's Threave away on Wednesday night isn't it wink.gif
