Seeing i,m in 4th, only 11 points of the top, and the only player in my team that hasnt scored a point is Jody Morris, i,d imagine once he,s fit and playing again i,ll storm this league laugh.gif

As will I once I have the opportunity to drop Trouten, Curier and Jackson.

And there was me thinking that the team of McMenamince and would come back to haunt me if I didn't pick him rolleyes.gif.

Jody Morris, Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten were also amazing picks...

He's fucked everyone over. What a useless p***k.

I picked him on the back of a double against Annan, and good form for a team that finished 8th in the 2nd division. I'm equally useless.

False modesty.

Not really. I rarely do very well on these kind of things and I genuinely thought my team hadn't done any better than average this month.

EDIT:
Just looking at it
P Gallacher, E Paton, D Mackay, P Weatherson, K Rutkiewicz, A Trouten, S Tosh, R Hart, M-A Curier, S Dobbie, A Jackson

I still don't see where it did that well in October? I don't think any of my midfield have scored a goal have they? Curier has come back in and scored a couple and Dobbie has three. I don't recall seeing Andy Jackson amongst the goals (is he even playing?). St Johnstone and Dunfermline are defending well fair enough but the Pars missed a game yesterday so no points there. Livi are losing goals like a sieve (we got six) although Mackay did score against us which offsets it a bit and Weatherson's got a couple I think. Dundee are losing game after game so Paton can't be scoring me points.

k38jfb
SD, here is how your team scored points.

Gallacher - clean sheets v Clyde and Partick plus appearances - 18 pts
Paton - clean sheet against Partick plus appearance - 9pts. Points earned in other games cancelled out from goals against.
MacKay - six conceded v QOS but a goal - 3 pts. 1pt v St J. Total = 4pts
Weatherson - clean sheets v Clyde and Dundee plus a goal. Booked against Clyde. Total = 24 pts
Rutkiewicz - 1pt v Airdrie, 15pts v Livi and Partick = 16 pts
Trouten - started in yesterday's game and scored - 7pts
Tosh - three appearances, one booking - 5pts
Hart - two appearances - 4pts
Curier - three appearances and a goal - 9pts
Dobbie - three appearances and three goals - 15pts
Jackson - not played in October - zilch

But add it all up and you get 111. smile.gif

Fair do's. I only just discovered Trouten scored yesterday. And failed to appreciate how much credit defenders get for clean sheets.

Jackson's been a big disappointment for me. Thought he looked really good last year and would be Dobbie's closest rival for top scorer. Hasn't happened for him at all this season.

Just hasn't had his chance at all, due to the form of others. The strikers (in fact, the whole team) were all as bad as each other for the first month of the season but since then neither him nor MacDonald have had much of a look in up front because of the form of first Samuel and now the Holmes and Milne pairing. He got back on the goalscoring trial for the reserves last midweek but unfortunately picked up an injury in the process of scoring and was ruled out of yesterday's match. I'm sure he'd have got 15-20 minutes if he'd been available. It's really unlucky for him as he'd just made the breakthrough into the Ireland U21 side at the start of this season.

The positive to his exclusion is that it's because Milne is finally looking like he's going to get an extended run in the team. His goal return has been excellent over his time here but the problem is he's only started 17 league games and 15 league games over the past couple of campaigns, so the end total doesn't look that impressive. He's 7 goals in 7 starts this term though.

I picked Collin Samuel.

Yeah, I'm also facing that problem. I'd imagine that k38jfb will update the links after he's done adding up the points.

I presume you are still using the same links in the post you quoted then. If you go to the updated ones in the first post on this page you'll find they work.

Just to add whilst I'm on here thanks to k38jfb for his efforts on this. I received my manager of the month prize yesterday and it's very professional.

His team's called Parsbouncers. I took an educated guess.

I would have hoped you would have noticed by now some of my comments are sarcastic, although some might argue the best form of life is found in Fife, and the west end of Glasgow.

Ok, it works here then.

You're 17th with 324 points. The leader has 361. I'm 11th on 334 points so you aren't far away at all.

EDIT - Just realised you refer to the first post in the thread. Those are still wrong, they are not updated. You need to use the ones on the first post on this PAGE.

RE-EDIT - I see David has posted them on a page 4 now too.

The top 6 is no longer just Thistle and Pars fans, as David W has split us. I think they have, because I got 45 last week, and have 46 this week.

You are obviously seeing something I'm not then. huh.gif

When I click the link it shows results dated 1st November, David W is 10th and you got 45 for the week.

EDIT - Aha, pressing refresh did the job. Never used to have to do that so I presumed it was just not updated. I have moved up, 4 places to 7th. 45 pts for the week so lost a point relative to you at the top.

Likewise! Despite the difference in our placings, we have very similar teams. As usual though, I've put the curse on four or five players by selecting them just ahead of them picking up long-term injuries. It's happened every year.

I'm inexperienced but like to take a risk(a Derek McInnes if you will).

You on the other hand are a well known fan of your club, who has made poor signings and is on the way down(John Connolly).

I'm gonna revert back to IronChicken moniker, and spam the board with brasso, if I'm back in the lead towards the end.

No change at the top after last night's games, and with only the Dundee v St J match to go in November, the Manager Of The Month prize is close to call. Skyline Drifter, David W and Dockyard Par (not necessarily in that order) all three points between them.

I'd forgotten that game was still to come.

I have Paton, Rutkiewicz, Antoine-Curier and Jackson potentially involved (though Jackson hasn't seen action for weeks).

David has Douglas, Hardie and Anotoine-Curier. Hardie is suspended for the game though.

Dockyard Par has Paton, Rutkiewicz and Antoine-Curier.

So unless Jackson appears out of the blue then myself and Dockyard Par will certainly score the same points. Whichever one of us is ahead now will stay ahead.

Antoine-Curier is irrelevant as we all have him. David needs Douglas to do more than Paton and Rutkiewicz which is possible but unlikely. He needs a Dundee clean sheet and for Paton to be booked and not score really. Or for Dundee to score a barrowload which will reflect negatively on Rutkiewicz.

All of which means I'd be reasonably surprised if the order we are in now changes unless David is the one in front AND either Paton or Rutkiewicz score or it finishes 0-0.

Could I win successive Manager of the Month awards?

Hard to call but at least he is available now. There is a minor doubt over Holmes and it would probably take him being absent for Jackson to make the bench. Outside chance he might get the nod ahead of MacDonald if McInnes opts for the two strikers in reserve but it's hard for the manager to change a winning side, even Morris has had to bide his time on the bench recently.

You win a nice cut crystal trophy (which frankly is every bit as good as the real manager of the month awards!).

There is an award for the most consistent performer. It's called the League Championship. wink.gif tongue.gif

He'll have to change his squad at least slightly with Hardie suspended though. Jackson granted isn't an obvious direct replacement but if say Morris steps up from the bench to replace Hardie then there will be a bench spot available.

It'll more likely be Alan Morgan or, god forbid, Nick McKoy going onto the bench. I'd be surprised if Jackson gets onto the bench this weekend to be honest.

What a nice lad K3989767 is.

I don't know where I'd put such a prize. It would be a bit embarassing if someone came round and asked what it was.

"Eh I won it in an internet competition I'm involved in"
