About 1.45pm this afternoon (Sat) a supporters bus parks up on on the double yellow lines in St. David Street in Brechin to disgorge a crowd of Bino fans who were obviously going to the match at the Glebe.

Now St. David Street is about half a mile away from the Glebe and is the narrowest point of the main thoroughfare through the place. So why did the driver stop there and cause major traffic chaos in Brechin instead of dropping his punters at the ground? huh.gif

I asked one of the guys who got off the bus and he just shrugged and shook his head.

I forget the name of the company but Auchterarder was the town of origin (of the bus).

Can any Binos throw light on this event or should we send for Mulder and Scully?

Who cares? If it was only dropping the fans off then I don't see what the big problem is. Big delivery trucks often stop on St Davids Street to unload goods. huh.gif

Big delivery trucks are smarter than to deliver on double yellows on a narrow street in a town at 1.45pm on a Saturday afternoon. Even in Brechin.

Why not drop them at the ground and save them a walk?

A bus parked on yellow lines.

Is this the single saddest thread ever started on pie and bovril?

Tune in next week when the exciting thread title could be:

"Brechin recieve confirmation Earth is round, not flat as previously thought."

All self respecting Albion Supporters have been advised by their parents never to speak to strangers - especially if they look like they are on a register.

Why on earth would they be dropped off at the ground at 1:45pm? They would have been wanting to go to the pub for a few before the game, and I presume they just stopped near to the Dally to let the supporters off. I don't see what the big problem is here. laugh.gif

You're not looking at the bigger picture. That bus could've been filled with Moomins, or velociraptors or anything. It was a real danger to everybody in the North East today.

Oh right. So why then did they walk right past the only pub on their route to the game without stopping (the Dally), the off license next door without stopping, then proceed up Clerk Street past the post office on their way to the Glebe?

I once bowed at a Japanese family in a small village near Perth while holding a dead pheasant and welcomed them solemnly (and somewhat drunkenly) to our humble country.

Turns out they lived in the village and hadn't just got off the tour bus full of Japanese visitors....... sad.gif

Should i really spoil the fun of this thread and say it wasnt the supporters bus it was the players bus, that stopped at 1.30 to allow the players to get off and stretch their legs with a five minute walk to the ground.

I still cant believe someone actually started a thread about this whether it was supporters or players laugh.gif

They would have been in the pub biggrin.gif , but as i was still on the team bus after it let the players off, when it drove off there were quite a few albion fans in the streets, so thats where the confusion has come from. How the OP didnt see the 20 odd guys that came off the bus all dressed in the same tracksuits i havent a clue.

Nothing will stop me dancing, nothing. Apart from my general inability to move without getting breathless.

I did something similar while pissed in edinburgh.

While walking along Rose street I saw a bunch of folk whom I presumed to be French rugby fans (They were at Murrayfield that day) going by the scarves they had on. I said "Bonjour, cava" and the folk looked at me funny and then told me in broad weegie that they'd been at Easter road watching Hibs v Rangers.

Just you wait till Tayside's finest hear of this. There will be doors getting kicked in at 5AM this morning in dawn raids.

Meanwhile, Longjohn has just witnessed a small boy pressing the button on a pedestrian crossing and then not crossing; He is currently holed up in his bunker, muttering something about hell and handbasket.

The conspiracy widens. Now that there are allegations of club involvement we should seriously consider points deductions as well as possible criminal charges.

I thought their "minders" were a bit heavy handed in their treatment of the hordes of autograph hunters. Brechin has never seen anything like it since the late Queen Mother passed through in 1968. On the brighter side, I am happy to report that the sheep shagging festival has been rescheduled for this Saturday when thankfully, Brechin are playing away.
