Guitar Hero 4.

Click the red fret for songs. "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters is also rumoured to be in this game too. thumbup2.gif

Sadly, it says at the top that those aren't confirmed songs, just ones they'd love to see in the game. They have come up with a cracking list though.

Guitar Hero 4 looks like its going to be brilliant and blow Rock Band away. The drum kit looks far, far superior and being able to create your own songs and download other peoples created songs (which will mostly be covers of songs that arent in the game) will hopefully be a great feature.
Feed The Dunn
Walk - Pantera

Oh please dear God let this song be in Guitar Hero 4.
FilthyMack
Everlong is confirmed for it.

The setlist looks better than Rock Band 2 but the real strength will be in the downloadable content and how well the thing actually plays. Even if Rock Band was just for the guitar it would still be a vastly superior experience than Guitar Hero 3. I'd reserve judgement on it "blowing away" Rock Band until I've played the thing, good that the Rock Band drums are mooted to work with Guitar hero 4 though. Just hope they've worked out how to master the tracks properly and we don't get stupid power up noises over the them like you do in Guitar Hero 3.
badger_whacker
You can create your own songs so is it worth worrying about anyway?

By the end of the first week there'll be millions of downloadable user created songs.
MonTheRovers!!
Island in the Sun - Weezer

Yes, and there's no shite at all on MySpace. laugh.gif

It might be brilliant, it might be shite. But however good the creation tool is people are still going to fill the servers with utter shite. Let's see how well it works first.

laugh.gif Not songs you'd expect to be in guitar hero, brilliant! Theres rumours going about that Dream Theater might be on it. Would be amazing if they were.

Does anyone know if your going to be able to use the Guitar Hero 4 instruments on Rock Band 1 and 2?

Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference betwen Guitar Hero 4 and the previous three? If it is just songs then that is a bit of a rip off is it not?

Yeah, I hate bands that do that too every time they make a new album. c***s.

Guitar Hero 4 has gone down the Rock Band route and will now allow you to play with drums and sing with a mic. It will also have a music creation function. Other than that, yes, it's just songs.

I dont know if this sort of thing excites you, but you'll be able to customize things like the guy you play as and your instruments. Thats not somthing I really care about tbh, but its different from the previous three.

One great new thing is it is no longer a Linear game, which means no having to play songs you dont want to in order to progress.

Obviously the biggest difference is as Filthy Mack said the Drums and Mic. As a drummer, I cant wait! Obviously I could've already done that with Rock Band, but when I saw the Drum kit for GH4, I decided not to bother with Rock Band and wait for this.

Fanboy. laugh.gif You've obviously missed my previous posts in this thread.

I presumed you're not oblivious to what Guitar Hero is.
To be honest I'd think it's fairly obvious that the strength of any Guitar Hero/Rock Band sequel is dependent on introducing new music and refining the experience... As any sports game would be dependent on updating rosters and refining the experience etc.

you wouldnt buy the same game with updated rosters for £40 or whatever though, which is why i asked if they introduce anything new to the game everytime they release one or if it was just more songs.

If you like....

Here's what the touchpad on the new guitar is for

QUOTE (Wiki)
The neck of the guitar features a touch-sensitive pad just below the normal five fret buttons. The player can use either the fret buttons or the touch pad to play regular notes. The pad also allows the player to play notes via "tap struming" similar to the slap bass method for bass guitar, and to alter the pitch of sustained notes. Guitar tracks will feature notes connected by a semi-transparent purple line, called "Slider Gems"; the player can play these notes by sliding their fingers up and down the touch pad or by tapping the fret buttons without strumming. The touchpad can also be used for sustains and staccato notes in the music studio feature while recording guitar, and is used for finer control over loops when recording other instruments.

Could do with that on TTFAF...

It's superb.

Beat It, Rebel Yell and Band on the Run are a hell of a lot of fun to play.

I actually think the drums aren't that great as they're sometimes not responsive (perhaps thats my drumming), but the new guitar is absolutely brilliant.
