No, I don't think we'll get the title, although I do think we will finish top 3 and could well have a serious bearing on where the title ends up. Main drawbacks for us IMO are that we don't have much depth in the squad - certainly not up front - and we will be relying on a fairly young squad in parts. For me this season is a real chance for people like Phinn and Williamson to impose themselves on the senior squad and to begin developing their game. Phinn in particular seems to have done well in pre-season. The signing of Kirk is a huge boost and our pre-season hasn't been bad, although you can never read too much into it.
I couldn't tell you who it will be, I just don't think it will be us.

In St Johnstone, Dundee and Queens you have 3 team who can realisticly challenge for the title imo i think Dunfermline might just cause a few upsets but it all depends on how our squad copes with injurys..

no shame in st j losing to us last weekend..... we played well and could have beaten any team in the league on that day
you gave us a good game and i honestly thought after samuel nicked that goal in the last few minutes that you were gonna win after we had to defend against a dangerous freekick. 2-1, hardly embarassing and i think it was just the home advantage that gave us the edge, so for that reason i dont think saints are poor and still believe them to be favourites to win the league this year.
Pars no
Dundee, i reckon st j will pip them to the title, although this weekend could change my mind!

They'll have it wrapped up by Christmas and Andy Kirk will be the top goalscorer in the world by this point.

I doubt anyone's going to run away with it, and I doubt any that finished in the top six last season will be far off the heals of whoever's in front.
And may we all enjoy the ups-and-downs of the First Division season to follow.
And may the Dundee fans really enjoy the end of the season in particular.

I don't see Dunfermline being strong enough to sustain championship form over the whole season, but at the same time I bet no-one thought Jeffery Dahmer was capable of killing seventeen young homosexual men before he was 30 and giving their bodies the boaby.
It's always the quiet ones.

We have a small chance of winning the title as pretty much every other team does, but ultimately I don't think we'll be moving either way out of the first division this year. The change needed is just likely to be too great to be able to be better than everyone else over the season, and I'd still be content with an improvement on last year and finishing a bit closer to the team at the top. In saying that though, I too am convinced that there will be a team to surprisingly challenge this year, although who it is is pretty much impossible to say.
It does look like quite a decent division this year in terms of teams being quite well matched, and I think it's unlikely that anyone will get as many points as Hamilton did last year. Probably still of a comparitively poor standard against first divisions of the mid 90s but even so it should still make for some excitement. The break has just been about right for me this year - I've not been desperate for a return of fitba, but I'm certainly quite enthusiastic about the new season now.

Im quietly optimistic, I think it will be between Pars and St Johnstone this season. Dundee fans are getting rather confident of winning it, but I dont think they will be too happy come the end of the season

nah, i think pars will be a very close 3rd, but i still dont think any teams will be able to match St J and Dundee.
1. St Johnstone
2. Dundee
3. Dunfermline

Yes - Dunfermline will win the league.
In fact there's little point in any of us bothering, so let's scrub the season now and just hand them the title.

Fantastic.
Should be a close season with a good few shocks in store. Always seems to be in the First.

With the signing off Andy Kirk, I'd expect Dunfermline to finish in the top 4. I was unsure if they'd even finish in the top half beforehand but with Kirk and Bayne up front, they should have no problems bagging enough goals.
I'm going to put my neck on the line and say they will finish 4th behind Saints, Dundee and Queens.

As much as i would love for it to happen, i don't see us winning the league this year. I think we have a decent starting XI but i don't think we have the strength in depth required to challenge.
It'll be interesting to see how Jimmy Mac does in his first full season in charge (assuming he last's the season of course

).
It's also going to be interesting to see how Ross County & Livi do this season, as usual in this division nothing is certain and everyone can beat everyone else, has the makings of a cracking season.

If Dunfermline had 300 million we would win the league...It is all Ifs and buts at this stage..who knows we might also bring in another striker?

I don't think Dunfermline will be good enough this season, bearing in mind this is McIntyre's first full season in charge, barring a major disaster and his squad will need time to gel.
St Johnstone for me, with Dundee and Queens after them. And I definitely think it'll go right to the wire.
Stuff the SPL, this will be the best league this season
