Absolutely no chance

Annan have made some good signings and some awfull ones.
I haven't seen he lad playing but he is going to a poor team(3rd division that is).
He will have to be as good going back the way as he is going forward,as that is the way Annan will be forced to play this season.Good luck to him.

watched him on sun and apart from the run he made and was awarded a penalty for the challenge on hom he looked like a fish out of water. Only looked good playing for saints cos there was very few decent players playing with him

The only way to find out if the boy is good enough is to give him a chance. If he is not good enough then so be it no one really looses he has gained a bit of experience and it will help him if he went back to a south club and Annan wouldn't have the doubt that maybe the lad could have been a good addition.
I think it's good at least they are trying to give the best in the area a shot at league footie because lets be brutally honest no-one else is going to give these lads a chance rightly or wrongly

That is all true, all he can do is try. Obviously I hope it does come off for him but I dont think it will. Not sure about the last bit these boys Annan have clearly aren't good enough for Queen's so if thats a dig at Queen's its a bit off the mark.

No dig at Queens all i'm saying is that the south of scotland is not swarming with scouts so if the lads dont get a shot with annan they are hardly going to have the central belt clubs asking them up for trials and offering contracts. So to be honest its a chance that will not come along again a league club in its early stages taking risks on guys that normally would probably not get a shot at league footie.

But Annan took collin Mac from sat amatuers and also Guffie from south footie and i'm sure that no one would have thought they would be having the carears they've got

I can't see him getting anywhere near the 1st team, probably just signed for the south team.

I don't agree with the comments that Cameron couldn't perhaps make it in the 3rd Division. I have been very impressed with this player and given time I think he could make some sort of impact. Of course league football is a big step up but the 3rd Division wasn't that great a league last season. I think the likes of Threave beating Stenhousemuir and a few other factors prove that.

Just over a year ago Stuart McColm played with Newton. He was a very good player for us and we obviously really missed him when he stopped playing for us. But he didn't rip through defences as if they were not there or anything. He was with us for around 10 to 15 games and played up front in all but 1 of those games. If I remember correctly he scored twice.

Stuart played a few games for Stranraer's first team last season and did pretty well by all accounts. His scoring record in the third was actually better than in the South. Now of course there is more to it than how many goals he scored but I still think it is worth pointing out. I remember watching him in one or two games and he was easily one of the bettter players in the Stranraer team on the days in question.

Stranraer ended up in second place last season - I wouldn't expect Annan to be as far up the league. So I see no reason why Cameron couldn't step up the mark in the same way as Stuart McColm did. Teams like East Stirling and Albion Rovers etc are not as far ahead of the really good South teams like Threave as some might think. After attending a few third division games last season I left believing that the South does have players who given a chance could fit into teams at the bottom end of the third. There is a massive gap between South football and the likes of the Second Division but the teams at the bottom end of the league spectrum ain't anything special IMO.

Last year when we played Linlithgow a few people were saying how teams like us and Saints shouldn't get into the Scottish Cup. If Linlithgow (or a team of similar quality) were drawn against one of the teams at the bottom of the third am fairly sure they would come out on top. In fact I would go as far as to say they might win with a little to spare as well. Cameron is a good player with real potential and the league he is going into (if indeed he was given a chance in the first team instead of the South) really ain't such a high standard that you could safely say its beyond him to do ok. Just my rambling thoughts mind which probably count for feck all!

How come its the Queens fans who are saying he is not good enough? Are they scared incase he becomes a hit in the SFL and it makes Queens look bad? They missed out on Colin McMenamin who was with Annan also.

We released him as a boy, McMenamin I believe. He wouldnt be in our first team anyway, also its up for debate that he would even be third choice.

It will not make Queen's look bad, Berwick were hideous on Saturday Queen's could have knocked 10 past them on anouther day. Annan may be around that Standard, being a sucsess for Annan wont make us look bad. Queen's fans are always going to be more realistic as we have seen more league football than most others.

Cant agree that he has played at a higher level Newcastle reserves, Livingston, Shrewsbury, hardly seen with Gretna in the premier league before being shipped out.
Yes Dundee are a bigger club and he probably gets more money with them but he is a poacher like Dobbie and judging by last seasons scoring charts Dobbie was a long way ahead.
No slur at Colin I know him well and played at Annan with him and I`m not a diehard Queens fan either just don`t agree with your arguement. cool.gif

Queens have two maybe three strikers better. Dundee being a bigger club in terms of fans etc but last years results against say it all 5 games 4 wins for the Super South.

He would, Dobbie and O'Conner are the best partnership in the league. He would likely have to, ripping apart as I say didn't happen last year. Dobbie was up there in the scoring charts last year, not won PFA player of the year though. Saying that neither has McMenamin, SFL Division 1 player of the year on the other hand....
