For those of you who don't already know Gordon signed a 3 1/2 year contract on Tuesday night. Great news for the Rose as it looked as if he was heading for Berwick Rangers. Think it will be some time before we see him though as the injury he received at Kelty months ago (as the result of being stamped on) plus recovering from Shingles.

I honestly can't remember this. At what point during the game did it happen and can you remember the Kelty player involved?

The incident happened (3rd May) in the second half at the changing room end, on the school side of the park. Herd was stretchered off. Neither of the officials seemed to have noticed the incident, but as the players gathered round, the ref then produced a yellow card and gave the Rose a free kick. It seemed that the ref was reacting to something he suspected had happened and was basically guessing.
Now if the officials dont see a particular incident, then you play on and just have to accept it. However, if he did see what happened then its a straight red. A very poor decision no matter who you support.
As regards the length of Gordon's contract, I was told by a heid committee man on Tuesday that it was 3 1/2, but hell, lets just be glad he has re-signed.

Good news he is staying. Plenty choice of forwards with Herdy, McSween, Black, Livingstone, Geddes and maybe Carrots.

Fuzzy - (big if), but if we could get Carrots that would really be a gold star for Fairley.

It's nothing to do with Fairley. The decision on where Carrots will be playing next season lies solely with Billy Reid.

Thanks. I would have been standing next to the home dugout, so although I can now remember the incident I would have been too far away to see what had happened. Your point on the referees reaction is a fair one though.

id just like to say that if herdy had been taken to the hospital instead of getting lonked on a chair until full time the recovery time might have been a little shorter.im not saying thats anybodys fault but it in fairness didnt look that bad a tackle.although it was an over the ball stmp and should have been a straight red.

It happened right infront of me. A high ball was played forward to Carrigan when the big centre half came over the top of him. The ref blew his whistle for the foul and there was a few bodies gathered around moaning, Herdy jogged through the group of players then it looked like one of the Kelty players stamped on his ankle. Couldn't tell you which one. When he got carried off the linesman turned to me and asked what happened. Surely it is his fvcking job to watch what is going on????

Fuzzy it would be a big plus for Fairley to get Carrigan. Why are you reading into it that BF might somehow beat Reid to the players signature, nobody is saying that. Everybody knows the lad wants another chance in the seniors, whether he gets it or not is up to Reid.

im awee bit mixed up with your reply ronson, dont think FUZZY is reading anything into it.carrigan is on trial at accies and the rose board have accepted the offer of 17.5k for his services if they like what they see.great bit of buisness on the part of the rose board imo.you have got to remember that if BR doesnt want him hes still our player.
juniornews
I think there is a mix up here
Carrigan is already a Rose player so that would not be a great bit of business by Brian Fairley
if he stayed, just Billy Reid deciding that he was not up to stepping up to SPL footie
and him coming back to Linlithgow where he has a contract still

So as Fuzzy says its up to Billy Reid just now where Carrigan will play next year
