Stevie Aitken's Love Child
Clyde 1 v 2 Morton

Should be an interesting game that I think we will shade. There wasn't a great deal between the sides last season, and I don't see that changing much in the coming term. Clyde's defence does look weaker with the loss of McKeown, whereas ours looks stronger, so I expect that to be the difference.

Partick 0 v 1 Dunfermline

2 sides that I expect to have similar seasons. Neither has a stong enough squad to challenge at the top, but they'll be too strong to get sucked into the relegation places. Dull seasons ahead for both sides.

Queen of South 3 v 0 Airdrie Utd

Comfortable win for Queens who will still be riding the crest of a wave after their cup exploits at the end of last season, and Airdire won't have the quality to stay up I don't believe.

Ross County 2 v 1 Dundee

County will be formiddable at home as always and I expect them to win this one. Dundee's squad is considerable weaker than it was last season, especially in midfield, and that will be their biggest downfall.

St Johnstone 2 v 0 Livingston

Even with the Saintees losing their challenge cup tie at the weekend, I would still say they're favourites for the league and should win this one comfortably. Livi's new foreigners will take a bit of time to settle into the Scottish game, if they do at all, so I expect them to struggle for the first month.

The ross county result is due to the fact that we seem to be on a run of good form at the moment, i know that come kick off that means nothing but confidence will be high, we have a strong team. So far we're unbeaten against ICT, Falkirk, St Johnstone, and dont see why we cant add Dundee to the list.

Clyde 2-1 Morton.Think clyde will edge a tight one.
Partck 1-1 Dunfermline.Thistle dont lose many at home but reckon pars will get a point.
Qos 2-0 Airdrie.Think queens will be to strong at home.
Ross County 2-2 Dundee. 3 of our 1st choice defenders are out so a good point to start the season with.
St Johnstone 1-1 Livingston.Would usually have this as home win but think livi could sneak a draw.

In the big game:

Ross County 3 v 13 Dundee
Dundee to go two goals down early on, because they're still stuck on the A9, after having to return to the Ballinluig Motorgrill for Lauchlan, who is on his third breakfast. Rab Douglas keeps the County at bay whilst the rest of the team have a swift couple at The Mallard. Alex Rae motivates the troops at half-time by singing "Eye of the Tiger" on the karaoke machine at The Commercial, and it does the business: a quick hat-trick from our physio, Karen, gives us the lead. The fourth goal comes in bizarre circumstances when Cowan discovers that if you push Lauchlan's head down hard, his right foot kicks really hard. A net-buster also takes out the Ross County 'keeper, making Deasley's hat-trick simple thereafter. It looks all over at 7-2, but then the teamwork comes together. Mickael Antoine-Curier is jumping well for the ball, and winning it cleanly due to Deasley pulling down the defenders' shorts at the same time. He takes his hat-trick before the Ross County defence counters by removing their shorts. And they get sent off for unauthorised removal of clothing, contrary to SFA Rule 145a( B )( 3 )( iii). With Ross looking spartan at the back, it allows Gilhaney ample space down the left. It looks like he's gone too far, but just manages to cross it in from Cromarty, and McMenamin's there to put the ball in the net. Cameron then opens his scoring for Dundee, with a goal from each of his lugs to make it 13-2. Ross County get a late goal due to the away team leaving early in order to make it back south in time for the following week's game.

Have no idea why I think the Pars will take a hammering. One of those feelings. Maybe it's because the imminent departure of Sol Bamba will shake their very foundations.

Dundee have 3 fit defenders on the books. Two are right backs and the other is a teenage left back with almost no first team experience. Given that Ross Co seem to be playing well just now I can't see past them for this one.

I do however think we will still go on to win the league once our injury list returns to some sort of normality ie not 33% of the squad out injured.

Good, but fatally flawed.

The Commercial is closed.

Edited to add -
Another flaw - "a swift couple at the Mallard" - absolutely no chance going by last Saturday's lack of bar staff!!

Clyde 1-0 Morton. Dull game with Clyde sneaking a lucky goal.

Partick 1-1 Dunfermline. Draw written all over it.

QoS 2-1 Airdrie. Don't want to be arrogant and I don't think Airdrie will be pushovers, but asking for 3 points at home shouldn't be seen as cocky! (But why do I keep thinking it will be 3-0?!?!)

Ross County 2-2 Dundee. Most entertaining game of the week with both teams getting what they deserved.

St Johnstone 2-1 Livingston. Livi will give it a good go, but the home advantage will play the part in the Saints' victory!
