A couple of questions from me: Do last years' cards or supspensions count for this season's Challenge Cup?
Do League suspensions from last season affect players' appearance in this season's Challenge Cup?

Kind Regards,
D

Anyone who received a red card or a second yellow card in their last appearance in last year's Challenge Cup would be suspended from their first tie in this, yes.

League suspensions are irrelevant unless they were for violent conduct or serious foul play direct reds. Anyone who got a red in the last league game for that reason would miss the Challenge Cup tie. A normal league suspension for accumulation of bookings would not apply to the Challenge Cup though.

I assume that if they were red carded for violent conduct or serious foul play in the CC last year they will already have served the suspension & be available.

The following are suspended specifically from the first round of the Challenge Cup this season:

David O'Brien (Dundee)
Chris Silvestro (Raith Rovers) - Will be applied 2nd round as Raith got a bye
Scott Buist (Alloa Athletic)
Konrad Kozminski (Peterhead)

I'm not sure about anyone who may have received a violent conduct red in their last game of last season and may therefore also miss out. And I'd guess Kevin Fotheringham's 8 match suspension for racial abuse will include this tournament.

Wasn't aware that the gutless wonders at the SFA had ever held his appeal??

I am on the mailing list for the SFA Disciplinary report, though it's probably on the SFA website under "Discipline" too.

Could be they haven't. There's a "//" next to his suspension on the list that is clearly meant to refer to an explanatory note but there's no note at the bottom.

// Suspension imposed by Disciplinary Committee 29/01/08. The suspension has been appealed and is set aside pending consideration by the Disciplinary Appeals Tribunal.

Cheers. Like I said, I knew the "//" must refer to something but on my version there was no explanation.

Thank you very much, it's truly appreciated!

Anyway, I think Tully of East Stirling is also suspended. He was red-carded in the play-offs and McInally said that he is not available for today's clash with the Honest Men.
