As usual the Daily Ranger tries to decry Celtic Fans I noticed these quotes in the artice though
"But Hughes insisted the atmosphere between the striker and the supporters was good natured."
"He said Healy had only pretended to play the flute after he was asked what he had been doing on July 12 - the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne and one of the main dates for Orange parades."
"I think that's when David turned around. But it was all good natured and the lads who were shouting at him actually gave the stewards their programme and he signed it for them."
Something out of nothing fair play to the Celtic fans for not overreacting.

The bottom line is each person did the act with the SOLE purpose of annoying the opposing fans. That is the bottom line here and that is why both actions are as bad as each other.
Does not matter what the actions are whether its a nazi salute to a jewish person or a cross to a vampire.
They are both done with for the same reason.
Both equally bad

Only biggots are offended by it. But there are thousands of biggots who regularly go to rangers and celtic games. These are the people that get annoyed. the vast majority of old firm fans would get offended with those signs

Because they are bigots, that is correct.
However the problem lies with them, not the player blessing himself.
those who are offended by the mimicing of a flute are also arseholes, I have said that. However that gesture is indeed only to inflame and is completely different from a centuries old example of religious deference.
I've seen Ronaldinho bless himself when he misses shots by a whisker. If he did this at Ibrox, is he a bigot?

Here are a few nuggets from the first 3 pages:
QUOTE
Orange b*****d
Healy as the darling boy of the all new NI team should have had more sense than to make partizan gestures.
Like it or not Healy's actions are in support of these sectarian tossers, and his flute mimicry is equally as repugnant as Bosnich and Di Canio's fascist gestures.
What next? Are we going to tolerate anti-Protestant gestures at Celtic games, because if any Celtic player involves himself in crap like that I'll be the first to call for him to be kicked out the door.
Healy is the star striker in a team who's entire fans and organisation are blighted by sectarian allegations and perceptions of sectarianism in general. I hardly think this gesture constitutes football for all.
As he has chose to immitate an orange walk he has put himself in the firing line.
its attitudes like this that breed sectarian murderers who have shot dead close friends of mine.
I think you need to revise your "people are trying to make something out of nothing and its not Celtic fans." statement.

No because he wouldn't be doin it for the sole purpose of annoying over 40,000 people.
Him doing that could cause 10 people to get stabbed.
It is absolutely ridiculous situation for these bampots. But the violence that could happen because of him getting a cheap thrill makes him a attention seekin arrogant tosser anyway as we all know he is.

The minute Borat pulled on the pope t shirt you knew he was at the capers. How on earth celtic football club allowed him to wear this shirt is beyond belief. Imagine the outcry by the other mob if Steven Davis had put on a King Billy t shirt.
Celtic should look long and hard at the actions of borat and try to remember how one daft wee gaff like his could end up with someone in hospital.
The OF day is a powderkeg and some people need little or no encouragement to incite trouble. Borat tries his best to incite trouble every time the pair meet.
