Just want to get a general over-view before the season kicks off on Saturday.

How is Daal settling in - will he be a success?

Have we signed Sancho?

Will we survive in Div one ?

Who cares. Don't you know this forum is for Dundee & Saints fans only biggrin.gif

Nah, seriously I think County will have a good season. Nowhere near relegation. Just hope that good season doesn't start against us.
Haitch
Are you going up for the 1st game? That game will say a lot for the two teams. It will show you how serious a contender Dundee will be for the league (this is a game you would expect the eventual winners to win) and also for County. If we go a goal down early will we roll over or will we put up a good performance.

I would expect 1-2

To answer your questions, so far we have had a decent pre-season, although we have so far scored quite a numbe rof goals, the amount we are conceeding is a concern for me, but then we have two new trialists and we kept a clean sheet on Saturday...

As for Daal, I think he will score us goals this season, but will miss just as many chances, if the team can create as many chances as they did for Barrowman last season then he could reach 20 goals for the season.. but he'll probably miss 30 sitters !!
Also he needs to keep his cool a lot more than i've seen in pre-season. For some reason he gets quite aggressive, he'll be no use to us if he keeps getting sent off !

Sancho - No we haven't, he left at the end of last season and wasn;t invited back for pre-season.

Will we survive Division 1 - Who knows ? But you could probably ask that question for 5 teams in this league and still have the same answer. And some of that teams may even challenge at the top, such is the closeness of the league ! - But I would say we are looking good for survival which must be the realistic aim. I know mumblings will be that we are goign for the league, but realisitically a 6th or 7th place finish would be a good result I think.

No we're not, but neither us can laugh at Falkirk, as they are indeed in with a great chance of making the top six.

It's just a bit of banter mate - of course I'd swap places but been there fairly recently and it's nothing to shout from the rooftops to be honest.

Daal is a fecking liabilty, he is more likely to be sent off, rather than taken off. Honestly he's not like Rooney whose spirt and hunger for the game will sometimes lead hime to make reckless tackles, Daal has a more methodical aproach to the game, yet carries a short fuse by the looks of things.

BTW any word on Craig?? it looked a sore one on Sat.

The full squad is down, they left on Sunday afternoon and having a few days away for team bonding etc.
As for what 11 players (plus subs) I guess with it being the last game before the new season kicks off then we will be looking at possibly our favoured starting eleven..

Not sure if the two trialists (Parra and Watt) have travelled or not, they could be playing if they did indeed travel.
county-mad
Looks like Para's and i guess Watts future will be decided against Falkirk.
Adams saying that Para wasn't troubled enough against Crawley but should be against Falkirk.
Didn't realise he was with Real Madrid for a time

It will be mainly our second string that play. Quite a few players have a few knocks like Arfield, BOB, Finnigan ect.

We always play a friendly against a first division team each year and play trialists and players like Mitchell moffat and both Stewarts.

Good luck anyway.
