Rutherglen Glencairn 1 Clyde 1 at the opening of New Southcroft Park.Around 600 people watched Tony Fraser scored the first-ever goal at the new ground via the penalty spot in 22 minutes after Ruari McLennan had fouled O'Keane.

Glens made four changes at half-time,and Clyde, who switched Hutton for Cherrie at the break, brought on Billy Gibson,Alan Trouten and Stuart Kettlewell on the hour mark.

As full time fitness and Glens first game together with 10 signings told,Pat Clarke headed home a left wing cross from Trouten in 86 minutes. Man of the Match Glens keeper Brian Brown, who produced a magnificent save prior to Clyde's equaliser.

Haddington Athletic 1 - 1 Killingworth YPC

An excellent game against Haddington's first English opponents in almost 60 years. Killingworth are in the Northern Alliance Div 1 (Level 12 of the pyramid) and, as it turns out, the two teams were quite evenly matched. Committed and competitive performances from both sides. Haddington's new boys acquitted themselves well.

Bryan Martin M (Dunbar)
Jon Manson M (Unattached)

I heard the Crossgates manager put the team through a 90 minutes training session this morning.

Camelon lost 4-2 to Auchinleck. The ref was a joke. But we deservd to lose the game from the 60 minutes i saw of the game. From what I saw today Denhams got his work cut out for him with a lot of different players. With the Falkirk friendly being cancelled doesn't help. Last pre-season game is against Linlithgow at Prestonfield next week.

Pollok beat a lively Armadale 2-0 today at Volunteer Park. Very impressed with Dale debutant Bob Woods in goal. The lad looks pretty young but a bloody good keeper.

Lok blooded all four new signings - Dexy Wingate, Andy Essler, Robbie MacKillop and Calum Hardie as well as introducing two trialists.

How did Robbie MacKillop play. Coached him at our Goalie Academy just up the road from Newlandsfield Park prior to him signing for Greenock Morton. He used to travel every Saturday morning from Dunoon to Giffnock, and showed plenty of commitment.

He made a few good saves, no howlers. He likes to punch the ball clear - Lok fans will have memories of a wayward punch KO-ing us from the Junior Cup semi! laugh.gif

Darvel Juniors 1-3 Largs Thistle

Ross McMillan sent off for Largs. Trialist #1 got 2 for Largs. Trialist #2 (with the unpronounceable surname) got the other. Even after biting an ear off the Darvel goalkeeper the referee refused to send off the trialist as his pen would never be able to cope with the surname.
