If your connected to a different ISP from your home network it could be a DNS issue.

Try to see if you can obtain a Default Gateway, Ip address through the command prompt, check proxy settings, Try an alternatve browser, disable/renable the NIC.

Theres loads of things that could cause it. My guess would be DNS though.

Edited to add - If you use AVG/zone alarm its probably zone alarm being a dick so check that out too.

Could be something simpler, like security. Check if your Uncles wireless has any kind of security encryption on it.

The network card, you find it (if using XP) if you right click on 'my computer', select 'properties', click the 'hardware' tab, then select 'device manager' . Then scroll down to 'network adapters' and you will see the wireless card there, you you right click and disable and re-enable it.

But as above it will probably be down to security.

What it sounds like to me, is you have been there before, connected to that router, thus creating a Wi-Fi profile, and since you were last there the security has changed.

Tried all the stuff above and had no luck but thanks for all your help anyway.

When you connect a new device to my router, you have to reset the router and when it restarts, you're connected properly.
