He didnt travel to Norfolk with the rest of the Clyde team so he may well be. He is out of contract and will most likely leave.

Very poor last season (as every Clyde player did), great the two before hand. Would be a good signing if your in need of a right back/winger
Good first season, average second season, rubbish third season. One of our biggest let downs last season. I think he needs a new challenge, and wouldn't get into our starting XI anymore.

probably more of a squad player for us then if he were to sign

No questioning his latent ability, but there must be question marks over his attitude. Thinks he's beter than he is, but the correct man-manager should be able to sort that out.
Brown obviously doesn't rate him, but I think he might just come good at Queens.
Or maybe not!

Thought he was ok when I first seen him play, now don't really rate him.

Was he not the captain for Clyde last season?

we've already signed halliwell and therefore have surely filled our "fud" quota for the season. Dont want to see mcgowan signing as well.

No chance of him being moulded into another Bob Harris like bargain then?!

Harris was never 'rotten'

I would have prefered him to stay at Clyde.

If it was McGowan on the bench tonight (certainly looked a lot like him and I was told we had an ex-Clyde outfield trialist but not his name) then he did ok but he played a central midfield role which isn't something I've seen him do before. Did ok, nothing outstanding, but these sort of games are hard to judge anybody in. It was a dreadful game of football.
He's better when he's bursting forward and taking people on. Could cross with either foot too if memory serves. He was pretty good at timing his runs out of defence playing wingback in a 3-5-2. Doesn't hide and certainly used to work hard to get back into defence. He seemed to be given a more defensive role after Miller left so wasn't as dynamic as he had been. Lost his enthusiasm I reckon as things wore on last season.
Personally I think he'd slot into the QoS team really well.

yeah i exaggerated, what i meant was that a lot of clyde fans werent that bothered that he left yous, and were more worried that gilmour had. But what happened was that gilmour turned out to be pretty poor while harris excelled! Hopefully the same will happen with mcgowan if we sign him.

Apparently Ayr were intersted in McGowan at the start of the summer. I think the feeling then might have been it would be difficult to attract him from Clyde.
Perhaps it could be back on for us, if Queens don't pursue their interest.

No chance. Harris was young, energetic, and had a decent head on him. I'm not surprised how well he's doing down at Queens. It's a pity we couldn't keep him, but with Hendry as manager then, he probably did the right thing and left...
McGowan on his day is a great player. His first season he was shithot. After Roberts left he steadily went down hill and last season he was just rotten. He's a great lad, don't get me wrong - But I think he needs a new challenge...

That's not how it works, we sign the player for a season or so
then punt him to Ayr!

FIVE ex-Queens players in the Ayr side last night I think. Plus of course Brian Reid being manager.
