I would once again like to thank Hibernian FC for giving us a right good laugh in that Inter-whatever-it's name is.

Congratulations to the people scouring the internet and still making a piss-poor effort out of it smile.gif

1. Hibs were unlucky that they faced a team that in full flight in their domestic season.
2. It shows a bit of a nieve thinking by Mixu when he says he didn't want meaningless friendlies...as now he's only played two meaningful pre-season games and he's out now

3. Hearts really don't have much cause to laugh at any club given the daily embarrassment going on at their club. Had Hearts applied for the Inter-tattie cup you'd have failed due to Hibs being higher up the table...so not even being goood enough to play in it is worse than getting beaten in it

Think it is a shame for Scottish football that Hibs went out so early. Of course can fully understand there local neighbours gloating, as well all laugh at our rivals expense.

As Daviebhoy said, Hibs unlucky to get a team who are currently in full swing in there league season and a bit of a boo boo by Mixu not playing friendlies before hand.

Hibs played 1 friendly during the week. It was behind closed doors though and they got beat 1-0. By Brechin.

You might have read about it in the Elfsborg thread. I think it was posted in there. whistling.gif

I'm sure they were beaten my St Johnstone in midweek as well.

The got beat by St Johnstone.

Did you hear they got by Brechin as well? 1-0.

Mind you Hibs had 2 trialists playing, so it must have been a bit experimental for them.

It would look even worse for them had Brechin played with 4 trialists though. whistling.gif

It would have been good to see Hibs progress. Only idiots laugh at our teams going out of Europe, even more so at such an early stage. We are not exactly blessed with European places given the size of our country and where we scale on the co-efficient criteria.
We should be looking to take opportunity of getting as many of our club teams in Euro competition for as long as possible!
Well done to Hibs for at least earning and taking the opportunity to try and make Europe in the forthcoming season.

Get over yourself.

Being a football fan's about tribalism. If it isn't about that, what is it about? Why do we go the length and breadth of the country* to watch a bunch of guys who're paid amounts that most could only dream of to kick an inflatable bit of leather about and with whom we have little or no personal connection?

Stick your coefficient up your arse. If I ever feel a need to get the calculator out to decide who I want to win a football match, I'll start following darts instead.

*Being a Rangers fan you probably don't do this, but bear with me.

Fair enough....but IMO you slag Hibs off more than you defend your own team.

When I mean defend, I mean not having a go at your own team as well.

In fact come to think of it Mako, is there any football team you actually do like because Hearts wouldn't surely be pleased with the loyalty you have for them either judging by some of your comments on here!?! huh.gif

Well that's clearly a ridiculous comment.

I haven't missed a competitive Hearts match home or away since August 2006. Prior to that, I hadn't missed a competitive game since January 2006, and prior to that I hadn't missed a game in a good couple of years. I don't think that anyone can really question my loyalty to the club.

Are you saying that I make occasional negative comments about the club? If that's the case, of course I do. We're not doing well at the moment (that's putting it lightly), am I supposed to pretend that we are? Stupid comment, especially given that some of your comments towards your fellow Rangers fans have been far from complimentary.

So you do go to games! Good on you Mako. You've earned the right. I think better days are ahead for the Jam Tarts as well so don't despair too much.

BTW, my comments are towards scum and bigots associated with my club. Very rarely will you ever see me criticise Rangers.

Aye, but Hibs getting into the Uefa Cup would have had a big negative impact on our coefficient as our total haul would've been divided by 5 as opposed to 4.

We're trying to get an average of about 7 points a season to maintain our current position or even progress a little. Hibs would've fucked that right up.

After the hilarity of Hertz finishing below ourselves in the league last season, I don't have any laugh left in me to have a chuckle at Hibs' plight. sad.gif

Aiming for 7th this year?

If Falkirk don't finish above Hearts and Hibs this season, then it will have been a complete failure. That's my bottom line expectation from the season ahead.

Not really sure what we're looking at yet, depends on signings.

Have fun with that, lad. Must be great having so much to look forward to.
