Ok, so basically I ordered a cover for my iPod off eBay, but it didn't come.

After about 3 weeks, I still hadn't received a response from the seller to my e-mail, and left negative feedback. Later that day however, i received an e-mail from him saying that he geuinely thought it had been sent, and has sent me another. Well, it arrived today, and I feel like a cunt.

Was my negative feedback justified? And am I right in saying there's nothing I can do about it?

It was justified, leave a follow up saying what happened in the end but if he had got in touch with you then you wouldn't have ended up leaving bad feedback.

Only one person to blame and it isn't you, oh did they they claim for it through the post office? if they didn't then it's likely they didn't send it out in the first place! dry.gif

Yeah, I was thinking that...

Maybe they just sent it out since I left them the negative feedback, because they thought they'd get away with it since it was only a few pounds.

More than likely! what's their feedback like as a whole?

If they had replied sooner (it's not as if you were impatient as you waited 3 weeks) then maybe you could give them the benefit of the doubt. did they give a reason why it took three weeks to reply to you?

And during that time did they sell any other items? (any feedback during those three weeks?)

No, you did the right thing. I did that once, seller didn't answer 3 or 4 emails so I left negative feedback. Almost immediately the fucker retaliated by giving me negative feedback. I had done nothing wrong so was outraged but eBay being eBay there was frack all you can do.

You can remove negative feedback (or at least you could do), check the Help section in eBay.

On a similar theme, I bought a battery off eBay for my video camera. Paid immediately via Paypal and I've now noticed that the seller is no longer a registered eBayer ohmy.gif

Sellers can't actually leave negative feedback anymore, so I'm OK for that.

But if you take that up with Paypal you should probably get it sorted (eventually). Since the payment was made, the details will all still be there and you'll be able to get in contact with him, I think.

Well isn't that strange, seller didn't reply to any emails but less than 24hrs after I raise a dispute he's full of apologies and promises! I'll be keeping the dispute open until I receive the item. dry.gif

Same thing happened to me with a footy shirt I bough from a Thai seller (they had 1000+ feedback though so I thought it'd be fine).

I sent an email asking what was going on, they never got back to me but the money got refunded to my paypal account without me doing anything huh.gif .

I got negative feedback once, as the item I bought was going to be posted special delivery (next day). I had no problem with that. However the seller also wanted to charge me £3 postal insurance. I emailed him and said that with next day delivery the item is covered up to the value of £250. He told me that under no circumstances would he send the item without postal insurance, and as it said it in the listing (in tiny writing may I add) that I had to observe the conditions of the sale. I emailed eBay and they didn't give a flying fuck that this guy was obviously conning every customer of £3 per sale.

So I refused to pay the £3, and he wouldn't accept my offer of what I paid and the Special Delivery so he left me negative feedback. I left negative feedback of "Seller sucks boaby"
