What the fuck is it? I keep getting pop ups informing me my computer is infected with one. Any advice on how it can be removed would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
StewartyMac
It's a virus that sneaks in on the back of another program.

Do the pop ups have a 'click here to remedy this' type of link?

If so, it's probably some sort of spyware/adware/malware. If you have some sort of spyware remover on your PC, run a scan to find out (If not, d/load 'SpyBot', it's free, and does the job)

Failing that, just do a full virus scan (assuming you have an anti-virus), and that should detect anything.

SpyBot appears to have removed all the viruses but one. I now have an icon to the bottom right of my screen that alternates between a red shield with a cross (similar to the Windows security alert icon only broader) and a blue shield with a question mark. When I click this a blank internet explorer page comes up.

Occasionally, a bubble pops up from it saying my system has deleted a number of Spyware applications and I should download an up-to-date Spywear solution, even though I've downloaded SpyBot. Also, when I first turn on my computer, a window appears instructing me to by WinSpywear. Can anyone give me any further adivice as to what's causing this?

Cheers.

It looks like something that Spybot hasnt picked up. Download and run Ad-Aware and see if that kills it. If not, you might have to find a specific tool to clean this bit of spywear/malware/adware.

If it comes to that, there are plenty of people on here you can help you find what you need smile.gif

SpyBot didn't, but Ad-Aware said there was something that couldn't be removed until I restarted my computer. I've done that, but the both the icon and the pop up for WinSpywear are still there.

Right despite Kuato's admirable effort, this thread is still doesn't have the necessary amount of sexual innuendo in relation to it's title.

I hereby add this to the conversation..

Hey, everybody, let's look at my enormous cock..
