Looks like a spanking shiny new ground they've got there. Anyone know how much it cost and who paid for it?

Being opened on the 19th against Clyde's 1sts

Due to the M74 motorway extension,Glens were forced to move out of their old Southcroft Park ground and around 20 months later have got they keys to their new ground in nearby Burnhill.
The Scottish Office is responsible for re-locating local businesses and money from that budget allowed Glencairn to move into New Southcroft Park, and build a new social club about 6o yards from the former building on Glasgow Road.

I was over at the new set-up last night working with their goalies/plus others from youth teams. The players are changing at the ground and using nearby grass facilities.I can reveal that after the Clyde game on July 19(kick-off 3pm),the playing surface will undergo more work, and be CLOSED until Glencairn's opening league game against Ashfield on Saturday,August 23.

Soutar's of Stirling are the main contractors, but its clear from last night's look that the surface still has a long way to go yet.I should stress its not in a dangerous condition, but not as lush as some of the other playing surfaces I have seen recently with the rain/sun.Glencairn will play all their pre-season games and two Sectional League Cup matches against Vale of Clyde and East Kilbride Thistle on opposition grounds, until the league match with Ashfield.

Dressing room etc are excellent, and the ground has floodlights cool.gif .

The low level train that we usually get to Hamilton stops at Rutherglen.

From Rutherglen Station, walk along Main Street, through traffic lights as if heading for Hampden, take any of the streets on right-hand side and you will come into the ground, which is next to Burnhill Community Centre. Saturday's game kicks-off at 3pm. You can also see the New Southcroft Park from the back of the old one.

O dont know how much money was made yesterday but I know quite a few people got in for free thanks to the non existant stewarding.
