Hey, I am moving house and will be looking for a new Broadband package. My laptops a bit fcuked so was ideally looking for a package with a free laptop. I have spotted a couple of things,
AOL 19.99 a month 40 gig download cap but you need BT line rental which will take it to £30-32 and its a 2 year contract
T-Mobile 30 a month unlimited download. This seemed to be more interersting until I spotted a fair usage policy of 3 gigs.
Just wondering if anybody had spotted or know of any better deals, with a minimum of 40 gig downloading, not too bothered about speed.

For decent broadband access, you'll need a BT line, or at least a landline of some description.
If yer moving house, see if the place has a landline, cable or BT. If it's cable, stick with them (even though there are a number of horror stories out there with Virgin at the minute).
If it's BT, use the Samknows website to see who is "unbundled" on your exchange. If Be or Easynet (O2 or Sky respectively) are there, or even Talk Talk, get this as there are some cracking deals out there just now. Admittedly, they're even cheaper if you're a customer of both.
Failing that, stay away from AOL.

You can get a Dell 1525 from Tesco for £380 just now. With a 160GB Hard Drive, 2GB Ram, and a 1.66 Pentium Dual Core Processor. I have the Dell 1520 version of it and it's a top notch laptop. Clear very bright screen, shithot battery life and a very quick computer in general.
If you were to spread the cost off that over a typical broadband/laptop contract, that'd be 15.83 a month.
I've got Sky Broadband in the house. I've got the full uncapped 16MB package and comfortably get between 8 and 12MB connection. Typically about 10 - 11MB. That's £10 a month on top of my Sky Package of £21 a month. I also pay BT £10.50 a month for line rental. But you can switch to sky and get it for £10 a month.
Sky has a free broadband package on top of a minimum £16 a month TV package. But it's a 2MB connection with something like a 4GB cap. They also have a £5 add on broadband which is an 8MB connection with something like 40GB cap. Then there is the £10 a month one I mentioned.
I also get free local and national phone calls in off-peak + weekends.
Sky - £21 (Could be as low as £16)
Broadband - £10 (Could be as low as £0 or £5)
Sky Talk OP + Weekends (Fuck all, Unlimited 24/7 available at £5)
BT Line rental (£10.50, £10 from Sky themselves)
So I pay a total of £41.50 a month for my Sky (All channels except movies + sport), Free calls in the weekends and OP, top drawer internet and a phone line.
The cheapest way comes to £26 a month. But obviously you can rotate it about.

Be and Sky do faster packages, but they're not available on my exchange

Just movin in to a house and was gonna split the cost with my new housemate, but fcuk it, as long as I have the laptop I will just have to go and win some more money....
I will be getting the Sky full package for free my new housemates maw works for them so might be able to wangle a staff discount, I will need to find out
