Just been reading on the Dundee Official Site that Colin Cameron is training with Raith.
I would hope when Alec Rae gets back from Malta that he will at least have a look at him and offer him a chance to prove his worth. He has had a fairly successful time down at MK Dons so I think he would still do a job for us at 1st division level.
I think he would make a really good addition to the squad. Anybody else think so?

Cameron is 38 now, and possibly getting on a bit to make a major impact for a First Division side in midfield. He did have a reasonable season for the McScummers in league 2 last year right enough.
Possibly a coaching role at his first club, Raith Rovers?

Sure I read he had been offered a new 1 yr deal at MK (before Mince left though.)
Could be new manager wants new players or he is maybe just training with us to keep his fitness up during the summer before going back to MK.

He is indeed ...my bad.
He is 36 in October though and missed the end of last season with a nasty knee injury. Would still be risk.
We're looking at Jim Lauchlin, I think Colin Cameron would be a risk worth taking

Coming a bit close to comparing Colin Cameron and Pele there, might explain Thistle's fans misguided view on football!
I'd be happy for Rae to have a look at him, considering we're having a close look at Lauchlin. If he manages to keep fit, admittedly a big if, he would be a good addition to a 1st division team.

Although he is 35 you will find that Mickey is very fit. He has been playing at a higher level that Scottish 1st for seasons now and would certainly do a 1st Div team a turn. Just a pity we are skint and can't afford him as he would be the final piece in a jigsaw to get us up this season.

According to the paper he is training with Raith while he is on holiday in Scotland. He was offered a new deal by Ince but that has since been withdrawn. He also says his preference is to stay with MK Dons but would consider anything.

Hands off! He is ours! We're organising getting our fans to participate in risky drug tests which pay decent to afford his wages. The plus side being that a few fifers may be removed from the gene-pool. Society is the winner in this one!

Here! I said IMO, and fair enough thats yours. I still stand by what I said though. The only thing that let Rae down was his Indiscipline, and constant bickering with Ref's (Which most top class players do). But it got him into too much trouble (Especially at Firhill!), and in the end, we were better off without him on the park.
On his day, during his first season at Dens, I reckon he was the best Midfielder in Div 1. He certainly would not have been last season had he played.
