Does this magazine still exist?

My mate had an old copy of the Carnoustie-Tayport final edition from 2004, which I wouldn't mind some photos from.

Any info would be beneficial.

Cheers.

I think it folded around that time.

Took two subscriptions from me (which didn't amount to much), folded with no refund.

I did the Tayport v Lochee final pics for them
my mate did the Carnoustie v Tayport game

get in touch and I will see if he still has them
the pics belong to us not the mag

I think they were stung by a lot of advertisers not paying for ads

I liked M+G. It was done by Gordon Scott who was the then Juniors' reporter for the Edinburgh Evening News. Gordon also co-operated with Keith Anderson (the East of Scotland League Reporter) to bring out a guide to the East Juniors and Seniors with team information which was never repeated unfortunately as I think it gave good publicity to the clubs. The Pink News also used to carry club features in it every week but that's gone now so the only coverage the East Juniors and Seniors tend to get now are match previews on a Friday and reports on a Monday.
I think there is a need for a non-league magazine- I miss "The Absolute Game" as well as it occasionally had junior features in it, as did "The Punter". I'm trying to get a magazine together for the new season myself but I'm a lazy b so I don't know if I'll ever get it finished...

Pyramid News has been on the go since the mid 1990s, on and off, and to be honest despite being lower budget than M&G, I prefer it tenfold.

Glad to know Pyramid News is still on the go- I take my hat off to Mr Smyth for all his hard work and must get a hold of a copy sometime..
I suppose Scotland is too small to support a publication like the English Non-League News which is a shame.

But the Non League Today paper does have Scottish content. I think the guys there are hoping, if possible, to expand their Scottish coverage.

There are two weekly newspapers with quite similar titles I think - one has Scottish content and the other one doesn't - so no surprises which one I've bought the last couple of times I've been to England.

Ah ok, you can get Non League Today in some Scottish outlets, Tesco being a good bet. It's on sale all week.

Pete Smyth does a brilliant job with his coverage in the Pyramid News. The Mud and Glory mag was a great idea, but there was always doubts about it having a good enough circulation to suvive. And of course if they were having difficulty getting advertisers to pay up,then they had no chance.
I took out a small advert to publicise our goalkeeping coaching academy and never received one phone call, although I was told the mag had been circulated into all regions.I have a contact who also works with juniors goalies on Tayside, and he told he had never seen Mud and Glory in their region.

At Pollok I recall we received a bundle sent to the club, with no instruction what to do with them. Were they trial copies to see what demand was like? I tried to shift a few at a game once but there were not too many takers. It's hard enough to get fans to buy our own programme.
gogsy
Our club certainly got sent a few issues.

Were you advised what to do with them?
gogsy
No. I think we tried to sell a few when we had home games but there wasn't much of a demand.
Burnie_man
We gave away the M&G issues with our programme.

The guys a nutjob though, and I lost money on a subscription when he went "bankrupt" back around 2003/2004.

I got half a season free once he re-started.

Yes - a definite nutjob. It's hard to understand what the hell he is going on about each issue. And he seemed to come up with a new model of how Scottish Football should be every couple of months. Did you know the Champions League format was all down to him?
