That would be a bit of a knee jerk reaction don't you think? He took you to a European final and to the verge of a title with, lets be honest, an average squad. It just highligths the fact that without Ferguson Rangers don't have anything. The guy carries Rangers through matches.

No knee jerk reaction from me. I was against Smith coming back from the start. The football is dire to watch at the best of times. Rangers simply shouldn't have players like Kirk Broadfoot, Christian Dailly & Lee McCulloch on their books, far less in the team. Smith's signing policy leaves a lot to be desired. It is obvious that we need some pace out wide and another central midfielder, so Smith goes out and buys 3 strikers for a combined £6million.

Your point about Ferguson is spot on though. Fergie does carry the team and without him playing, we are rudderless and lack any direction or verve from midfield. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that he is by far the best midfield player in Scotland and without him, Rangers struggle badly.

In their last 7 home European games, the huns have only scored in one of them.

That must be hard to take.

That's pathetic!!! laugh.gif

It's not pretty, but it didn't do us too much harm last season did it?

Not too bad

Should be no more that a formality. Comfortable progress then hopefully get a easy draw in the 3rd round.

No, QOS and probably Hibs too will be that, as did Gretna and the other diddies in previous seasons

It is amusing to watch though.

I have to disagree and say that although they may miss Ferguson, he is also one of the most overrated players ever. The one player they are definitely missing is Carlos Cuellar, that guy virtually held Rangers together last season with his last gasp defending.

With him missing, it was inevitable that their non-footballing tactics would come back to haunt them.
