No knee jerk reaction from me. I was against Smith coming back from the start. The football is dire to watch at the best of times. Rangers simply shouldn't have players like Kirk Broadfoot, Christian Dailly & Lee McCulloch on their books, far less in the team. Smith's signing policy leaves a lot to be desired. It is obvious that we need some pace out wide and another central midfielder, so Smith goes out and buys 3 strikers for a combined £6million.
Your point about Ferguson is spot on though. Fergie does carry the team and without him playing, we are rudderless and lack any direction or verve from midfield. Anyone who knows anything about football can see that he is by far the best midfield player in Scotland and without him, Rangers struggle badly.
