I need a replacement goalie, and i've found some guy who's just left his club, but he's had his WP application turned down.

Has anyone ever won an appeal?

My work permit application is always turned down but the majority of the time I win the appeal! blink.gif biggrin.gif

I was bloody 2nd in the league and only 5 pts behind Livi though ohmy.gif

Best of it is, John Robertson was also sacked after the game (he was the Midden manager !!!! laugh.gif )

Ive now took over as Gretna manager as Morton hired Alexander.

Notice who my goalscorer was, Graham, a reserve striker. I had Lilley out injured for 2 months, Brighton out for the rest of the season and Deuchar out for 2 months as well, so in January i signed Chris Killen from Hibs and he got injured and was out for this game against the Midden sad.gif

Ah right, I was just wondering if that was Jim Graham who came through my Morton youth system...he turns out to be a very useful player.

Just started the game with Queen's and struggled quite badly.

Challenge Cup 1st Rd lost 2-1 to Stenny then got pumped 3-0 by Cowdenbeath. Mark Ferry, Richie Bowers and new signing John Gemmell all suffered injuries in one week prior to a game with Morton in the CIS Cup 1st Rd, Andy McGinty was sent off after fitfteen minutes and went on to lose 8-0, former QP player Finlyason scoring six from midfield ( blink.gif) then drew 0-0 with East Fife.

Finally started to put a wee run together with the last couple of results being:

East Stirling - A - 1-2 (Tony Quinn pen)
Stenhousemuir - A - 1-0 (Richard Bowers)
Montrose - A - 1-1 (Craig Tully o.g)
Elgin City - H - 2-2 (Richard Bowers, Richard Sinclair)
Berwick - H - 2-2 (Richard Bowers, Tony Quinn pen)

The Elgin one being the best so far considering I was playing with ten men for an hour after new signing Joe Savage got sent off.
Twynholm
Started a new game as my Dundee one went pear-shaped. Thought i needed a challenege so took over the biggest challenge possible East Stirling. My aim is to win them the champions league and the SPL unsure.gif Anyway sacked 20 odd players and have brought in about 25. Best signing is Jorg Steil(keeper) and Dion Dublin could sign too. After 19 leagues i am 3 points clear at the top ohmy.gif rolleyes.gif No cheating involved. played 19 won 14 drew 1 lost 4 biggrin.gif

Now to win that league, also in Scots Cup 3rd round v Ross County
Francesc Fabregas
I started a new game last night, having used the new updated patch with the transfers and all. I decided to go Arsenal, and, being cheeky, I made myself in the game, playing for Arsenal. This is indeed cheating, but I don't normally go Arsenal, and you can't sign Craig G Telfer anyway, his preferred clubs are Stenhousemuir (100) and Arsenal (74). He is a striker, he is shit hot biggrin.gif

Anyway, I started a new game, and did very well in pre-season, humping all these Turkish teams, once winning 2-11 biggrin.gif

I signed Craig Gordon, Vincent Kompany and Juninho from Lyon, while also picking up Stenhousemuir youth players Paul Murphy and David Templeton (he's pretty good in the game!).

Out went Cygan, Poom, Gilberto Silva and a whole host of unappealing youngsters.

I lost the Charity Shield against Cleasea 3-1 (despite leading), lost against Man City, and managed drws against Newcastle and Charlton sad.gif so I was already on a shoogly peg. I drew with Man Utd after going three goals up sad.gif and in the Champions League, I was humped 2-4 by Ajax.

I was sacked before we reached October sad.gif

in my 2nd season with HSV. won the bundesliga in my first season on the last day of the season. signed podolski close season from kohln who were relegated and looking pretty strong this season with most of the other team in the league pushing the self destruct button.

since the game started i've only made a few signings. lebohang mokoena for £120k, luis jiminez from ternana for £3.7m, Karl Svensson on a free from gothenburg in my first season and podolski and tiffert in the close season.

Sold a fair few players with some for reasonable money, jarolim, takahara and collin benjamin all from between £2-£3m and sold emile mpenza to villa for £6m.

Won the uefa cup and the super cup (against bayern).

got skelped 4-0 of barca at the nou camp in my first champs league match and scraped thru my group in the last game by beating club brugge while barca beat chelsea 5-4. Messi's goal in the last minute meant i qualified.

got inter in the knockout stage so can't see me progressing too much further although with a 10pt lead in the bundesliga i'll be there to give it a go next season.

my team is:

The first thing i do on FM when playing a new game is sign all the players i want on the longest contract possible and reduce their wages, make bids for replacements, get rid of all the s*ite youth team and reserve players
I then sack the poorer quality staff and bring in new ones , i then load up my training schedules, then lastly i cancel all friendlies(i dont tend to play any)
Anyone do something similar?

i do a similar thing except i organise millions of friendlies in the 1st season to find which team works best
Peterhead Dave
Man City looking good for a top five finish, though I want to stay in fourth, ahead of Liverpool, who are two points behind with a game in hand.

Vyacheslav Hleb, who I got on a Bosman, is banging in the goals, though I've got so many decent attacking players, I'm struggling to fit them in. I think I've got three players in the 15-20 goal bracket!

Hleb and Antoine Sibierski are my first choice pairing up front, but Garry O'Connor finally seems to be settling in, and Romano Denneboom is still getting goals when he gets a chance up front rather than on the left wing.

It's going to be a bit of a transition for next season though. I'm getting rid of my older guys and replacing them with younger ones. Sibierski was meant to go, but due to his form he's staying for another year, though his replacement is already a done deal.

Claudio Reyna, Trevor Sinclair, David James and Robbie Fowler are definitely going though, and I think Cesar Miguel Rebosio may follow, as I've signed his replacement (Juljio Srna). Gianluca Pessotto was a short-term signing as backup for Steven Jordan and Rebosio, and he's also on the way out.

I managed to get Chris Kirkland in to replace James, but I'm not sure I'll bother replacing Sinclair or Fowler. Denneboom can play wide right, so that's Sinclair taken care of, and with Sibierski staying, the guy who was meant to replace him (Johan Elmander?) can take Fwoler's place in the squad.
SimonLichtie
Going strong with Arbroath. Won Div 3 and then Div 2 easily in my first 2 seasons, and now im 3rd in division 1, 3 points from the top with 7 games left.
codfish
I've only been in the Portsmouth job for a month or so, and my squad already looks vastly different. My first bit of business was to make the loan signing of Andrés D'Alessandro permanent, and his signing was quickly followed by those of Archie Thomson from Melbourne, Billy Jones from Crewe and the Hearts pairing of Andy Webster and Craig Gordon. I still had an eye on replacing the other loan players in my squad, so in came Vitaly Kutuzov from Milan/Sampdoria, and Lecce striker Mirko Vucinic, the latter being my record signing at £15 million. I'm two signings away from completing the jigsaw for this season, with Gaetano D'Agostino from Messina/Roma and Valeri Bojinov from Fiorentina being the prime targets. Andy Griffin, Lomano Lua-Lua, Benjani, Dario Silva, Sander Westerveld, Vincént Pericard, Brian Priske, Grégory Vignal and Aliou Cissé all made way.

Trasfers in (including the fees agreed for D'Agostino and Bojinov) - £56.5 million
Transfers out - £17 million

You should always play at least four friendlies otherwise your players will take several competitive games into the season to get fully fit, and you don't want all your players being 70-80% fit for your first few competitive games of the season.

Absolutely loving it! thumbup2.gif

My half shite team, who managed 3 points from 4 games in the First Division, just beat GAK 2-1 in Austria. I even had to finish the game with 10 men, as Chris Innes (in his second game for the club) had to taken off after i'd make all 3 subs. Also, i had to start with a goalie I had never seen play before, because my first goalie had the flu. Roberto Giacomo is on loan from Rangers, just as back up in case I needed him - he proved himself to be very good indeed.

Manchester City will also be playing in the FA Cup final, after defeating a certain mob from Salford in the semi, Garry O'Connor coming on as sub to win the penalty that won the game biggrin.gif
