Every time I finish a season with promotion I don't get the next seasons fixtures, apart from friendlies and cup games. 'Kin'ell !!!

Anyone else having problems signing Onandi Lowe due to a work permit application being turned down?

I wanted to add to my already epic strikeforce but it's not happening.

I'm in my second season with Clyde and sold Neil McGregor to Morton for £300,000. No idea where they are getting the money from, big spenders before the went up to the SPL.

I brought in a FB Kaunas (sp) defender called Kancelskis. Good signing so far, sorted my defence out after McGregors departure.

Up front i have Cillian Sheridan (free, Celtic) and Kostadinov ( i think i paid about 5k ). I had Damon Gray on loan from Hibs, but he's out for the rest of the season. I'm sitting third in the 1st Division. Goal difference seperates the top 4, 15 games into the season.

It's looking good so far, finished 5th last season and this season i'm aiming for a top 3 finish. Hopefully i'll get promotion, but if i don't it's not the end of the world. If i can keep the squad i have now and bring in a few new faces next season that would give me enough to possibly stay in the SPL next season.

f**k.. just drew with Queens at home. That means im second, 2 goals behind Queens at the top of the table.

Dundee and Gretna both lost, so i'm a point above those two.

Where do you save the background pack?

I can do the skins easy enough.

Create a new folder with this path.....

C:\Documents and Settings\(your name)\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\pictures\backgrounds

I've downloaded the background pack and put it in the folder you've said, but i'm still not seeing them

edit: I am now, and I haven't done anything!

how do you get the game in windowed mode?

Change your monitor resolution to 1152 x 864 and then go to Preferences in the game and untick the 'Full Screan' box.

the highest available is 1024 x 768

Try that, if it doesnt work then your monitor isnt big enough I'm afraid.

Just about to start my 2nd season in charge. Offered the Reading job, but rejected it in the summer. Signed Paulo Di Canio or however its spelt ( ) for free, after being given a budget of £0, despite me giving them a 200k profit. Went to change at the board room, but changed it back as i've not spent any money anyway. I'll post screenshots when I can be bothered.

ie, Highland Leauge and teams.

I made a team like that once, had all the greatest stars, Ronaldinho scored something like 100 goals in my first season.

Didn't stop me being pumped out the cup by Caley Thistle though!

I like the fact that despite having Torres and co up front Onandi Lowe is a must have in the team

Exceeded all expectations and after a very shaky start, managed to sneak into the play-offs and beat Ebbsfleet United in the final to make it into the Premiership.

Did not prepare for that at all so a few big changes are needed because there's no way the squad I have will survive in the Premiership.

Decided I was getting a bit bored being Cowden manager so I became the Newcastle manager. 2 games gone in the league and 2 wins out of 2. 4-0 win over Liverpool and a 2-0 win over Birmingham. Also won in first round of the Euro Vase 8-1 on aggregate against some Croatian side. Currently 3 - 0 up in the next round after the first leg.

Bet Kevin Keegan will be jealous of these scores

That's your problem and was mentioned on here a few times by folk. Think it really only affected the Scottish leagues.

Sign the entire squad of some Finnish team at the start of the season. Search for Lomski and sign every player from his club, couple of cracking winger/forwards, an amazing all round attacking mid, centre half and keeper. All in all cost you about £200k max and you can sell each one of them on for about £5m+ after a couple of years depending on who you are. Very strange.

You need to go to younger players, then go on their profiles, go to player interaction, and on some (not all), it will say something like 'state *older player* would be the ideal rolemodel for *younger player*.

Started a new game with Clyde the other day.

1st season i finished second with my Kostadinov in on loan, along with Fleck, Caddis and Carlo Monti.

2nd season i won the league on the last day of the season beating Dundee ( who were top ) 4-1 away from home.

Started the SPL season well enough. 5 games in and i'd won 1, and drawn 4.

18 games in and i got a piece and sack. Fucking raging. Thinking about doing a little English league now. Starting with Ebbsfleet or Dagenham...

I got something funny happening with the kit showing on the game screen. It seems to have a larger kit behind it and looks stupid. Anyone know how to resolve this?

Yeah its weird. I created a file for them and normally they work fine but there is a chunky version of the Spanish teams kit behind the slimmer ones for a ll the spanish teams. Its like a default strip behind it and i don't know hoe to get rid of it!

Right.. Here's the story.

I've got Clyde into the SPL and i'm sitting 11th. 1 point behind Morton who are 10th, and 1 point clear of Inverness who are 12th.

I'm just about to go into the January transfer window and i need to strengthen the team. We've been shipping an obscene amount of goals lately, but that's mainly due to David Hutton being injured, then after 1 game my sub goalie got injured, then so did my reserve goalie. Hutton is back now though. My defence is decent. I've got Higgins who has been playing quite well alongside Mikey McGowan and Carlo Monti. I think i'm good for those positions.

I'm playing a 5-3-2 with 2 wingbacks. I've got Fleck on loan from Rangers on the left, but the right side isn't strong enough. I've just signed Jackie McNamara from Darlington so hopefully he'll do a decent job for the rest of the season.

Midfield i've got Jimmy Gibson, Tomislav Pavlov and Stevie Masterton. Gibson is the weak link here. Masterton and Pavlov have been playing really well.

Up front i have Cillian Sheridan who is dying to leave, But i've got him contracted until 2011 ( I'm just about to go into 2010 ). He's valued now at 1.6 million, so i think it may be time to cash in. Alongside him i have Richard Barker who is doing well for his age, On the bench i've got Louis Dodds and Alme Koudou.

Basically what i'm looking for is some impact players who can help me get a few goals. With Hutton back i shouldn't be shipping as many now, But that counts for nothing unless i can score myself.

I have a transfer kitty of half a million due to a great Scottish Cup run last year ( Rangers beat me 2-1 in the semi's ).

My Dumbarton game was going quite well. Won the 3rd division in my first season and won the 2nd the season after. Rangers are my parent club, and I've had Efrem, Loy, Lennon and Harvey on loan from them for the last two seasons.

My first season in the first was a bit of a slog. Motherwell and Hearts had been relegated and they both disappeared into the distance. I ended up a distant 5th

The annoying thing is that for the last three seasons, I've had no money to spend, but have kept the wage bill down and got the balance up to £1.5 Million. So at the start of my 4th season the board finally game me some cash to splash. I've got a transfer kitty of £600k. No fucker will sign for me, no matter how much I offer them!

Started the new season and I don't think I've got any chance of promotion.
