Its too realistic now I installed the patch - the ref keeps not giving me penalties (3 in past 4 games were penalties according too the commentary and my moaning after the match laugh.gif) and in the other game I had 2 offside goals ruled out sad.gif

Given my all-time greatest CM / FM achievement is getting the Shire to the final of the UEFA Cup back in CM4, I decided to start a new game with them last night. Brought in Stephen McConalogue, Martin Canning and that Kostadinov chap on a 12-month loan. I didn't believe he was as good as being made out, but he's scored 6 goals for me in my first three games, including a hat-trick against Brechin in the Challenge Cup ohmy.gif

Only had time to play those three but am comfortably sitting second in D3 smile.gif
Mon The Clyde
See when you conceed a goal from open play, and your watching the match, does it always blame one of your players?

I was looking out for that last night and failed to lose to a good attack play from the opposition laugh.gif

I am Worksop in the Conference North right enough.

Am going to start a game with Folkstone. I will need a whole a lot of help and luck

He really is astonishing. After ten games I'm five points clear at the top with 9 wins and 1 loss. I've scored 37 goals so far laugh.gif but also conceded 17. McConalogue's also chipped in with 6 league goals in 8 league games but has unfortunately gotten injured for a "between 2 days and a month" unsure.gif laugh.gif

It's CM 01/02 he is playing. I play 00/01 myself and have a cracking game with Ajax on the go just now using fictional players. The highest profile/potential players are all still there (Figo, Maldini, Kluivert etc) but have made up names. Figo - Hector Nunéz for example.

In my new game with Rangers, in my first season, apparently it's going to take the fans a while to forget my 3-3 draw with Sevilla :\

You can get download a database for CM01/02 to update it to this seasons squads. I won the treble with ICT (Scot Cup, Lge Cup and UEFA cup) still can win the league.

No it doesn't usually blame players, although if it does it's always Richard Duffy mad.gif

But whenever there's a goal from a corner, 90% chance it will be knocked off for?

Neither have I hilarious.

I brought in two great belgians, arne vanslander and yorick anthuenis (surname may be spelt wrongly). Both really good players, arne has 19 free kicks and is only 16, but he seems to dislike some players in the team, and when I sold them, he started disliking other players huh.gif

My best player is Mads Albaek and I just sold Michal Janota to the dons for 700k.

I've bought him too.I sent him out on loan for 2 seasons than sold him for roughly £1.5 million plus a 50% sell on clause because I was well covered in midfield.

Is anyone playing the World Super League download? You can download it from FMunderground Clicky.
You need to be registered.

I started unemployed and immediately got the PSV job, In the super league lower. After 13 games I'm a point clear at the top with 2 games in hand, Middlesbrough, Feyenoord and America all second on the same points.

I fancy starting a game witha 3rd Division side and trying to guide them to the SPL in, say a five year period.

They're all much of a muchness. I'm currently playing a game with the Shire and have them top of the third division with 19 wins and 3 defeats from 22 games, 11 points in front.

Sign Kostanidov from Hearts on loan, get Stephen McConalogue, and you can pretty much take any player you want from Queens Park for free - I got Steven Canning, Alan Trouten, Stuart Kettlewell, Paul Cairney and recently brought in Scott McKenzie for free. I'm scoring goals for fun - Kostanidov has 28, playing in 19 games, McConalogue has 14 goals in 16 games. Romping the league.

Of course I dont cheat! Signed that Kostandinov boy who scored a barrowload. Got a good run in the CIS cup going which included away games too Dundee Utd (4-2 win after extra time) and Aberdeen (lost 2-1 too a late Steve Lovell goal) so that brought in money so I could buy players in the January window. Stephen Manson was suprisingly good and he got about an assist a game! ohmy.gif

Started the new season well in the 1st. Got Templeton in on loan as well as Kostandinov again (biggrin.gif) so my strike force is lethal. Beat Gretna 3-2, hammered Livingston 7-2 (they are awful!) and even managed too beat Hamilton 5-4. Could do with stregthening my defence I feel laugh.gif
port-ton
just started a game with port glasgow juniors who i put in the 3rd division instead of elgin, didnt give them any players so have to start from complete scratch. only change i made was made them part time intead of amatuer so i could offer proper contracts.

will be interesting how long it takes for me to build a decent team and get them through the leagues.
Gaz
Won the Third Division with The Shire, now trying to build a team to keep me in the second. Konstadinov isn't wanting to come back unfortunately!
scottp96
In my game Kostadinov keeps going on loan to some team called K_SOV} AC or something like that anyway.
Gaz
After a difficult start to live in the second division with The Shire, things are starting to look up. I'd began by losing my first five games without scoring a goal laugh.gif A quick adjustment to my tactics sees me now playing a 5-3-2 and in my last four games I've won two and drawn two. Lifted myself off the bottom and I'm now sitting comfortably in 5th smile.gif

While discussion Havant & Waterlooville, the subject of how much money they're getting from their cup run (£4,000,000)

I stated that they could probably build a team that will move them up a good few divisions for that much money.

So now, I am going to try it on FM.

I will take a Blue Square North/South team and completely gut it (leaving its fanbase and reputation in tact) but I will put £4,000,000 in the bank - and give transfer budgets as appropriate.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

The game is pre-start only, you can only edit the database, then start a new game with the changes.

I'm still playing FM07, currently in my 6th season, sitting towards the top of the First Division. Took me 3 goes to get out of the Second Division, despite reaching the play-offs twice. I have less than no money, paying out 100k a month in loan interest.

The board won't let me bring anyone in, so it's a bit of a constant struggle. I'm doing as well as I am thanks to buying David Templeton at the end of season 1, loans from parent club Celtic at the start of every season, and players who have come through my youth system in the last 5 years.

I assumed that it was pre-game only. Just thought that there might have been another way round it. Ach well. Might start with East Stirling this time.

I signed him too, he was the top scorer in the CL last year laugh.gif

Also, if you can, can Branamir Kosstadinov on loan from Hearts, or even better, signed. He is fucking fantastic. In my game just now with the Rovers, he is playing for Valencia with a value of £12,500,000.
Adam_Wee
I started with Torquay after an unsuccessful time at Leeds.

5k to spend but I haven't bothered. Singed Tony Caig in goals and a chap called Gary Twynham (I think) that plays centre midfield.

Told the board that I would get a mid-table finish, so far I am 10 games in and sitting 5th. If I don't receive any heavy injuries, I should gain promotion.
Dunc
My highest earner is on £325 a week, second highest on £200.

The team below me in the league, Hibs, are paying out £7000 to Beuzelin.

Everyone other team in the league, even Arbroath, are paying at least one player over a grand.

I have no idea how I've managed to end up 3rd, I shouldn't really be anywhere near it.

Tony Mowbray, who returned to Hibs at some point, received a vote of confidence from the Board, telling him that a bad result would get him the sack. Next game: Hibs beat the runaway league leaders Kilmarnock 7-0, ending an 8 game unbeaten run laugh.gif
Grant228
Well after buying the game yesterday i immediatly chose Dunfermline only to realise they had alot of players most of wich were crap and a small budget so..
Players out:
Roddie McKenzie-30k
Jamie Harris-7k
Callum Woods-20k
Scott Muirhead-10k
Jim Mcintyre-3k
Pat Halpin-released
Players in:
Pablo Paz-Free(very good defender)
Branimir Kostadunov-24k
Scott Cuthbert-Loan
Mike Mcglinchy-Loan
Teddy Bjarnson-Loan
Fraizer Campbell-Loan

So my first game came up against partick thistle(at witch point i never had fraizer, scott or branimir) And partick thistle promptly whent in 3-0 at half time, result i give a bollocking and we nearly come back losing 3-2 in the end. So i whent out bought the players i needed and came up against St Johnstone at wich point i hammered them 3-0...
So Fast forward a few months and you will see me in the quarters of the scottish cup(knocked out rangers) in the first proper uefa cup round(although i bet the team 2-0 away so looks as though im in the groups) and in the final of the challenge cup.
Most of it has been because of
Branimir Kostadunov, has scored 8 goals in 8(3) games
Fraizer Campbell, has scored 12 goals in 10(1) apperances(4 came on one game)
Teddy Bjarnson, 5 goals in 10 games and many assists (4)
Mon The Clyde
Starting off at Falkirk - any decent players to buy/loan with £25k?
Gaz
I've managed to keep The Shire in Division 2, finishing 8th in my second season. Delighted. My board have just offered me a shiny new contract, and an adjustment to my budgets means I have a transfer kitty of £124k smile.gif

In my third season I'm aiming for at least a mid-table finish, but sneakily hoping I can get a playoff place.
Dunc
One wee tip that I use, is when you're looking for a few cheap players, go to the big clubs (OF, Man Utd, Arsenal, etc) and look at their Transfers Out for the current season. They've often let go talented youth players, and skilled veterans, who are just floating about waiting to be signed.

EDIT: My newest "hotly tipped" youth player is the imaginatively named Alan Allan. Great stuff.
berwick-the-unbeatable
Alan Allan. laugh.gif

Continued my Berwick game for a few games thday. Beat Ayr 4-0, lost 4-1 to Brechin, lost 2-0 to QP. sad.gif

Kostadinov is back from injury, but is being made to look shit in comparison to Jonny Russell, the player I have on loan from Dundee Utd. He is fucking quality, 10 goals in 9 games, whereas Branimir has 1 in 4(1).
