Started the season as Queens and after a really shit pre-season (lost 4-2 to Bellshill...), I've managed to scrap my way to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup and sitting 5th in the 1st Division.

I'm going to offer to research the lower league Scottish teams next season, hopefully then the teams will be more realistic

I finsihed 11th with Sheff Wed in first season. Missed about 30 penalties.

Anyone had a player with a yellow and you go to take him off, then in the time when the balls in play he gets sent off. Its a right pain, happened to Seth Johnson twice for me.

I just got Montrose promoted via the playoffs but when I started the new season I had no fixtures!!! Only games I played were in the cups, the rest were free weeks! I've also noticed that no fixtures are being played in any of the Scottish divisions....how frustrating! Looks like I'm gonna have to start the game again.

I'm playing a system with attacking wing backs, so Beasley doesn't really fit in. I spunked £8.5 million on Rasvan Rat from Shakthar to play that role.

Doing not too badly at Leeds. Even though I started minus 15 points, I am sitting in 13th position, 7 points clear of the relegation area.

Just got humped 4-0 in the FA cup by Pompey at Fratton. I did have Daryl Duffy, Thompson, Da Silva, Richardson and Prutton either suspended or injured.

Have went a little over my wage budget by offering Da Silva and Thompson deals to stay until 2009, but it will be worth keeping them if I finish mid-table this year as they have been vital players. Need them for my promotion push in 2008/09.

Went on a 5 game winning streak just before the new year, which took me right out of the relegation zone and also earning my first Manager Of The Month trophy.

Need to strenghten things in midfield if I want to mount a serious promotion campaign next season, so I will probably need to offload a couple of players in order to afford it.

I'm sitting 4th in the league with St. Mirren 13 games into my first season, suffered defeats at the hands of rangers (2-0 A), Celtic (3-1 H), Hibs (4-2 A), drawn 3 times as well, best result so far has to be Rangers at home 3-3

Who would have though Alex Burke would be capable on turning the game around

Haven't had any pens as yet,so don't know if I have the same problem. Playing against Alloa,one of their players must have smacked one of mine in the face and he never even got sent off!

My player is now out for two months because of it.

Because you've added them as attachments. You need to upload the screenshots on a hosting site, eg Photobucket, then post the URL in your post using the IMG tags.

If that makes any sense.

Or you can just attach them as .jpg's. That's the way I did mine and they came up ok.

I like the best XI feture, it gives you the fans fav XI for the year. It also gives you an alltime fav squad!

Pfft, it's impossible to sign anyone. I got Clyde into the SPL last night but can't sign anyone due to my complete lack of transfer/wage budget and getting decent loans in is tricky as well. I read earlier on someone suggesting Polish players but, in my game at least, when you select the domestic Polish league only a handful of players are available to sign. This is typical for most of the rest of the world actually.

Any tips?

Jenki, did you start the game with a small database only? This might be the case. I started mines as the large one, does take a bit more time than it would if I had only opened the smaller one, but it is worth it for the amount of players.

Also, try to get a parent club. I'm at Leeds and have Newcastle as a parent club, they send me some of their young players for first team football. Got a couple of crackers and depending on how much money I get for next season, I'll be investing in one or two.

Surely if you are at Clyde, why don't you try and sell McGregor? I've seen him go for £400k in my game to Sunderland, that could buy you a couple of decent players for the SPL.

if you want to beable to sign anyone you want? go chelsea. Otherwise get in some good coaches take a couple of older or younger players & free transfers, raid queens park & strap yourself in for a battle

Gawd, hope I didn't come across as looking for an easy ride. Enjoying the challenge just now, but I'm just about to embark on my SPL career and want to have a half decent team because I've been known to break stuff in the past if things go pear shaped

For a parent club, go to the Boardroom, then Boardroom Requests, then Request Parent Club. If Clyde ever do make the big time, you can also request a feeder club and send youngsters out to them.

You should be able to pick up a few decent players with the £200k you got for Neilly, and Paatalainen isn't too bad a signing. Remember, don't buy players for the hell of it, if possible, try to keep as many of your first team together as they have had a year of playing together so know each other's strengths and weaknesses. If you sign players for the hell of it, it will take time for them to gel into the team.

A good left back is Paul Murphy from Carlisle. I signed him for Leeds but didn't get much change from £100k. See if Daryl Duffy is looking for a move back home too, because he is young, he may be unsettled at Cardiff. I got him for £200k, so he may be a little out of your budget.

If it is money for transfers you are looking for, why not cut your wage budget? Also, if you think you can make a good push for it (ie. Euro place, not the league) then tell the board this and you will get more money for transfers and wages. Might be worth the challenge to see if you can do it.

Oh, and a good midfielder that you may be able to bring in is Ross Chisholm from Hibs. I signed him on loan when I went Clyde and he was brilliant.

You'd be fucking lucky...I was working Saturdays as well until I chucked it recently, so I went to my first game in ages against Morton. Good to be back despite the shite on offer, but I'm starting up at Tesco soon so might be missing it again. Could be a good thing though, since the only games I've been to this season are the shocking defeats against Hamilton, Raith, Thisal, Pars in the cup and Morton



With the dough from Neilly's sale (and a few other fringe players) I've brought back Eddie Malone for £35k, Sean Mackle from Falkirk (£12k) signed Keigan Parker and Bruno Aguiar on frees and brought in Neil McGowan of Hearts on loan. Waiting on replies from Nastja Ceh (£55k) and Brian Easton (40k)Squad's shaping up nicely now.
