Not sure if you can. Had a wee look before, and couldn't find any settings that'd allow you to do it. If you work it out let me know.

He won't find it - things like that are hard-coded, and cannot be changed by anyone other than Sports Interactive's programmers. Same with the game start date, as it's been requested in the past for games over a year old.

I was given the game as a gift at Xmas, in in my first season I have won the 3rd Division with Stenhousemuir by three points.

The squad is relatively good to begin with, and after shipping of Joe Savage and Stevie McGregor, I brought in Martin McBride from Gretna, Charlie Mulgrew from Celtic and Gary Crooks from Hibs, all on loan (although Crooks was the only one who featured the most). I also signed a chap named Craig Campbell, who I later sold to Celtic for £30,000. He was on a free and was quite good (obviously).

Gus MacPherson was sacked from St Mirren, and was signed up in defence in the trasnfer window, along with Henry Brown from the Shire.

Arbroath appeared to have steamed through the league, but I beat them, and their form dipped a hell of a lot. I then steamed 7 points clear, but lost 5 games on the bounce, but won the last two to win the league.

Good stuff, I am going to start a game with Barcelon and sign John Obi Mikel and Francesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry.

I have just bought it. I thought long and hard, just because I don't have enough memory. However, after removing my Norton anti-virus, which was not updated for over a year (I use AVG, and Spy-Bot, anyway), I have cleared up some memory which, inturn has made this version run relatively quickly.

I am Hereford United ph34r.gif in the English conference. I have just skelped Watford 5-2, after victories over other league opposition in friendlies. I have a small squad, and no money to spend. Has anyone got any free-transfer tips?

Anyway must get back to my charges.

Just about forgot. How do you get the commentry to run in the centre of the screen instead of at the bottom? I have removed the 2-D match engine, to speed thing up but the commentry still runs at the bottom of the screen.

sorry if this has been mentioned, but Woolworths are selling FM2006 for £14.99...or if your still to skint for that, FM2005 for £9.99.

Not bad ey. I got FM2006 yesterday and my Leeds team are so far not keeping the fans happy, oh shit. I spunked my £200,000 transfer budget on Andy Webster and made an offer for Kris Boyd, Killie accepted and Boyd chose me over 5 premiership clubs, but the board would not release the £300,000 needed, twats.

Any tips on how to raise some money, really quickly.

For whatever reason, I started a game last night as Harrogate Town in the Conference North.

Is your computer reasonably new? The game needs a minimum spec, mine is decent and it struggles sometimes....but if you go to the main menu and click "search for updates", that should sort you out.
zuluroyal
when I say main menu, I mean load the game, before you do anything the main menu will have an option saying "search for updates."

click that and follow the instructions, if you're stuck, just ask..I'm online now.

Turned out I didn't have enough quality to put together the run of results I would have needed, but I finished 7th in the league, and signed a new three year deal. Hopefully some of my signing targets will no be released by their clubs and decide they do want to consider a move to Scotland's most northerly club smile.gif

Still in my second season, and well in the promotion hunt - however my aspirations are being dented by still only having one defender who can actually do anything worthwhile. I've strengthened my midfield though with the signings of Brian McLaughlin and John O'Neill from QoS, and my attack with the addition of Duncan McLean from Montrose and Ryan McCallum from Cowdenbeath.

I've just had a job offer from York City, so I must be doing something right, but I've decided to stick with Elgin and get them out of the Third Division.

EDIT: Hopefully the addition of experienced defenders Jim Weir and Gus MacPherson as player-coaches, along with Cowdenbeath's Innes Ritchie will add some solidarity to the defence blink.gif
Peterhead Dave
Innes Ritchie has been a fantastic signing, and is doing the job on a regular basis for me. His arrival helped the team to a final-day victory to claim fourth place in the league, and a spot in the playoffs, where Montrose were defeated on the away goal rule, after a 3-2 defeat at Links Park then a 2-1 victory at Borough Briggs.

Now just a trip to Hampden to face Ayr United stands between me and the Second Division.
Peterhead Dave
Bugger. A last minute goal saw Ayr come back from a goal down to win 2-1 and seal promotion to the Second Division. It was a close encounter, but a dodgy touch by John O'Neill gifted the Honest Men possession, and Elgin were rightly punished. Not even the return of top scorer Duncan McLean after a month out could save my lads sad.gif

Click the ' Preferences ' button either when you load the game up or when playing. The option for the skins is in there.

Fed up with Pink's baffling squads, i've decided to retire from winning the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and take the Brechin job.

Sold Craig Nelson to Morton to get some transfer funds. Urgently need a keeper.
lost opening friendly 3-1 to Killie with McCewan also missing a penalty.

Shame I can't find Chris Geddes anywhere wink.gif

After a 0-0 draw at Alloa and a 0-1 defeat to Notts Forest, City finally won their first match. 2-0 at Elgin thanks to 2 Paul Ritchie goals. Only Ipswich at home before the competitions begin.

Stranraer at home in the Challenge Cup
Montrose home in the league cup.

Still desperately searching for a keeper.

Dave - you're too honest! If I had been in your position I would have saved my game right before the Ayr match and then if it wasnt going well quit without saving and keep trying til you finally won !! cool.gif

I had considered it, but I fear my team wouldn't have been good enough for the Second Division anyway. Now I have the chance to continue to gradually improve my team for the step up - and I'm getting close to the kind of team I'd like

With McCluskey and Ritchie now marshalling the centre of defence, I've added Craig Tully to nail pesky left wingers, and the experienced Mark Roberts up front. Craig O'Reilly from Dundee has just accepted a move to Borough Briggs, and Marcus Gayle is considering a player/coach offer. Then I'll just need a decent goalkeeper, and I'll be all set! biggrin.gif

I've also reduced the club's debt by around £100,000 over two years, without having to sell anyone biggrin.gif
codfish
Well, that's a promotion and two 3rd place finishes in Division 1 so far with Peterhead. Just started my 4th season, but with a few squad changes, some of which netted me a grand total of £2.5 million on transfer fees. I've even turned down offers of £1 million for another player! ohmy.gif

Currently, I'm sitting with £4 million in the bank, and £2.5 million to spend on players smile.gif

First season with Queens about and I'm sitting 2 points off the playoffs with 6 games to go. I've been a model of inconsistency finding it hard to beat bottom half teams and brushing aside the top teams.

Brought in Stuart Boyd from Ayr, Grant Killin from Cowden and two loan players Andy Sim (Hamilton) who I would highly recommend, and Paul McAloney from Falkirk who has been my best player.

If I dont get into the playoffs I'll probably be sacked because every time I fall to 5th/6th my job status becomes insecure.

I have started my second season with Stenhousemuir in the second division, and, after 9 games, sit in 1st place by three points.

I brought in 5 players on loan - Gary Crooks from Hibs again (I actually know the guy, his house is massive), Mike McGlinchy of Celtic (sitting in the hole), Tommy Coyne (Kilmarnock striker with high stats in finishing and heading etc etc), Robert Lovering (Rangers full-back who starts ahead of Marcel Renwick) and Dundee's Graeme Hay (midfielder, back up to McGlinchy and McBride).

I also signed, on free transfers, Russell Latapy (who is lazy and McGlinchy plays ahead of him) and Paul McLean from Inverness, who plays on the left, and the squad is burgeoning and full of confidence.

I lost my first game against fucking Alloa and feared the worst, then was humped from Forfar in the league cup, but, draws against the recently relegated Brechin and then Raith was follwed buy a stunning winning run, that saw me beat even Gretna, and go top of the table.

Even more incredible is the fact that I am in the final for the Challenge Cup against Partick Thistle. On the way there, I beat Albion Rovers, Peterhead (who are in a poor nick), then Morton on penalties (despite having Willie McCulloch sent off), then Dundee (3-1!).

The game is superb, but maybe a little too unrealistic.

My squad lines up as:

---------Henry Brown----------------------------Liam Buchanan------------

-------------Mike McGlinchey--------------------------------------------------

--Paul McLean--------------------------JP McBride----------Marc McKenzie--

-David McInally---Robbie Henderson---Grieg Denham---Robert Lovering-

----------------------------Willie McCulloch------------------------------------

I am looking for a good goalkeeper on the cheap. I need ideas.

So, is there a network game that others can join?

Pretty please?

There isn't one yet - I think the plan was to wait until after Christmas before getting one going. Naturally, I'd be interested should one be started.

We'd need to get some "ground rules" of sorts before starting though, like how many players there needs to be to play it, how long can be spent at once working on your team etc unsure.gif

After beating Stranny in the Challenge cup 2-0 thanks to 2 Stuart Callaghan goals its away to the middens in the next round.

Took a lot shorter time than Pink to win my first league match, stuffing Dundee 2-0 in the opener thanks to Charlie King and Steve Hampshire.

Odds of 80-1 to win the league seem attractive to me.

Although not very attractive to watch, my 4-3-0-2-1 formation is making it hard for teams to break me down.

Ross County have offered £10K for Callaghan, sad.gif oh well looks like another player gone.

Kevin Byers has become City's first ever full time player. smile.gif

OK, this may have been covered before but how do you get the hang of the training.

Last season I would get the best Assistant in and let him get on with it.
Now there are attacking coaches, defensive coaches etc. In this aspect it is much better.

Is it a case of getting in the best coaches you can and clicking on the auto-assign button if you can't be arsed tinkering?

What about the monthly training updates? What have you dudes done to improve the performance of any underacheivers during training? Get better coaches or specifically adapt the individuals training schedule?

Thank you in advance.

I'm playing with Leeds, currently mid-table having lost first two games of the season, then won 2 and drawn 1.

Signed Craig Gordon and tried for Kris Boyd but didn't have enough dosh to complete the deal...I might do something really silly and see if Kenny Deuchar can cut it in the championship.

Gotta say though, still have CM-0304 and am in season 2011. I starte with Leeds, won the league cup and finished consitently top 10 but get fed up with the board whining and resigned, took the Nottingham Forest job (bottom of first division) and after 2 seasons won promotion and the league cup.
Have just started my 4th season there and am top of the premiership and won the Uefa cup...I love CM0304!!!!

Anelka and a guy called Tim Harvey upfront, both scoring bagloads with Alan Smith chipping in regularly. Got a guy called Arthur Correia on the wing, well worth a look if you have CM0304.

zuluroyal
SO, we gonna start a network game then?

I don't mind hosting it, but what league will we play? would be cool to have all teams in one scottish league, I don't care who I manage, hopefully some people can get the team they support?

Who is up for it then? Say scots division 1 for a laugh?

Playing in 2014 now and bottom of the SPL right up shit creak. sad.gif

cool...I just had an idea for the network game...once I have 10 people, I'll use the editor to put their ten teams into the same league!

Not a bad idea ey?

I suppose we should make a rule that no-one is allowed to pick the Old Firm though.

So, we got CK for Clyde and Kyle for Sons right? I'll pick the tenth team because I'm not bothered who I get, don't support any Scottish teams.

Put me down for the Rovers! biggrin.gif

I'm going to finish comfortably mid-table, as always.

I find that in FM I work best with next to no money to spend. I always bring in players on loan, and arrange swap deals. I swapped Brian Fairbairn for Maciej Nuckowski, £3,000 and 30% next sale. Nuckowski is shit, but thats by the by.
Dunc
Right, who's going to be the cheatin' bassa who chooses Gretna then!?! laugh.gif

I'd say put the teams into the 2nd Division, because it means that there is the maximum number of places to fight for/avoid. It would mean at the end of the season, 1 team would go up, 1 team would go down, and 4 would be involved in play-offs. Then, the next season, we could possibly have 2 teams in the First, 2 teams in the Third, and the other 6 in the Second, still battling away.

If we start in the First, then theres only one place to play for, and if we start in the Third then theres no danger of relegation. SPL would just be shit dry.gif
