Stick that error message into a web search! Looks like it might be a user name error.

Its fucking amazing man!!!! Such quicker game play! Amazing game biggrin.gif

I've yet to play the demo but might it be quicker because it has fewer leagues and less detail enabled than you're used tousing with the full 07 game?
Dunc
One small complaint so far.

Before every game, when you choose your team, I have to go back to the main squad page every time to get all the relevant details like Condition.

When will they realise that Darran Thomson doesnt play for us??? They have quite a few mistakes there - for example John Armstrong is a centre half not a centre forward!

Still not that bad I guess.

What makes it worse it's usually a fan of the team who updates the data huh.gif

Maybe we should all email and let them know and hopefully get new people doing the data for the next patch and I'm williing to make a new database if everybody gives me the up-todate squad lists smile.gif

That way everybody dosen't have to update the squads and I will more than likely do it anyway cool.gif
Enigma
With the exception of Joe Dingwall all our reserves are DC, MC OR FC. i know for a fact some play in wide positions.

Go on the SI data forums and tell them.

I will make a thread and post the link here so other people can point out any problems in their squad as well.............

If anybody wants a squad list put up just me me know smile.gif

The new interface is poor. It's cluttered, and the wee icons at the top are nonsensical, even worse than those in 07.

Anyone else finding this game fucking impossible?

Also, when I set people to be "tight marked", I dont expect them to both score hat tricks in one game, and have miles of space for every single goal!

I'm finding it easier than 2007, making tactical switches during the game seems to work in your favour more than in 2007, I was drawing 0-0 against Reading with 20 minutes to go (I'm Man United surprise surprise) I brought Nani on and within 3 minutes he had scored the first on the way to a 3-0 victory!

Also Tevez is a beast in the game, my top scorer and scoring about every game biggrin.gif I spunked my transfer budget on Michael Owen (I had only had 12 million and the deadline was appoaching) and he's proving to be a decent player to bring off the bench.

Also Jose isn't the manager of Chelsea, That's one change that wouldn't be in the game!
port-ton
the morton players have the exact same stats as last year, there isnt that many new things...just a few tweaks here and there on what was already there. its hardly any different from last year. normally you can at least expect the players to have better/worse stats so you dont neccasserely have to play the exact same team you did in fm07.

Same with most of the Raith players, in fact the lower league players on the whole seem poorly researched.

Morton were given a 40k a *week* wage budget when I started.

I've since cut it down to 20k, increasing my transfer budget from 50k to a cool million.

Wee bit of a problem in giving us such massive outgoings - we're not Gretna! tongue.gif

How much money is in the Morton coffers at the start?

I'm sure Raith were paying out £16,000 per month on a loan/debt, will check tonight unsure.gif

It kinda buggers up the finances sad.gif
Swampy
65k in the bank, being down 40k so far, so, 110k. Yet I still have a season budget of well over a million.

Incidentally, playing Albion Rovers in the CC (5-0 up after 30 mins, Temps got a hattrick in 8 minutes) and they have both a "David Di Milta" and a "David Dimilta" playing for them. Someone's screwed up that particular bit of the database tongue.gif

Oh, and Jamie Stevenson's apparently making his league debut for us...

Mark someone with pace tightly and once they get the ball they'll just rape your defenders for pace because their too tight.

Tight marking is best for skillfull players or ones strong in the air, if a teams quick it's better to sit in deep.

Head of Scottish Research here...

We've had the same researcher for Raith for years, and I didn't have any complaints before, but I'll take a look at your problems.

Morton is researched by Bryantonfan who posts here and he always does a good job. He clearly feels he hasn't needed to make many changes, which is fine. Players stats don't just go up because they have been promoted, and Morton were rated last season on the basis that they were good enough for Division 1.

Cowdenbeath - I ask every year on the SI Forums and in here for help with them and nobody ever offers, so I don't think anyone can really complain unless they are willing to do something about it themselves.

I would urge all people who have a problem with the research to post in the data threads on the official SI forums or in the Scottish forums

I did always wonder that myself laugh.gif wink.gif

For the Raith squad I would make the following changes..............

Marco Pelosi: Left back/left wingback/left midfield

Craig Wilson: Right back/right wingback/right midfield/attacking midfielder right

Iain Davidson: Right back/Central defence/Central Midfielder

Robert Sloan: Attacking midfielder central/right/left (Left strongest side)

Derek Carcary: Attacking midfielder right/left and forward (Left Strongest side)

Chris Silvestro: Right Back & Defensive midfielder

Ryan Borris: Attacking midfield right & forward

Just my opinion mind smile.gif

Seems pretty good, though its going to take some getting used to

Bit annoyed at the fact that you cant see your players condition etc when doing your team sheet, unless you go back to the main squad screen

St. Mirren seem alright, i'm sitting 3rd 4 points behind the OF, after 5 games, won 3 against ICT 5-1 (home) , Falkirk 2-1 (away) and Motherwell 1-0 (home) , lost to Rangers 2-0 Away and 3-1 to Celtic at Home

Hmm I don't think either are exaclly natural right backs! Can Borris play up-frount?!?!? I would however go with the rest!

EDIT: Does anybody know what youth players positions are because there is clearly something wrong there, no wide players!

No but they can both play at right back if required, I believe we actually signed Silvestro as a right back in the first place unsure.gif

As for Borris he played upfront against Berwick while no means a natural it should at least be an option?

I'm looking into where the youth players play, will hopefully know by tonight smile.gif

Is this addressed to me? I haven't said a word about the Morton player stats. They seem fine so far but I haven't played it enough to really make a judgement.

What I *have* said is that I was given a wage budget of over 40k a week, which is ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that I was allowed to halve it and was consequently given a transfer budget of £1,000,000.

If it's addressed to port-ton then fair enough, but the financial error is huge (I realise that this is probably not a research issue, though.)

Started as Dagenham, 2nd after 18 games and only made a few signings.

A wee scare in the FA Cup, up against non-leauge Nuneaton. 3-0 down, came back to win 4-3.
