Has anyone gone St Mirren from the off and managed to keep them in the SPL? And if so, please tell me how cos it's driving me mad.

I've got about 9 games to go in this season and am rock bottom, about 7 points off safety. I have tried endless systems, changed the players about but to no avail. The constant chain of defeats would be depressing if it wasn't for the fact that it highlights how well the real team has done this year! rolleyes.gif

Stayed up two seasons running. Basic 4-4-2 seemed to do the trick for me smile.gif

I'm playing online with a mate, he's managing Clydebank. I just laughed out loud when he signed a player named Juan Carrio from Motherwell on loan, shows how mature i am...

In my 1st season with raith they finished 3rd and qualified for Uefa Cup.
Casper Rose
Started a network game with my brother, he's Reading and I'm Sheffield United, signed a good few players....Hleb's wee brother, Matt Jansen, that korean freebie at the start laugh.gif to name a few. As I post he is drawing 0-0 with Liverpool, he's 17th and I'm 18th.
MTJ
Doing a season with Dundee right now, sitting 6th after 24 games. 15 clear of the drop zone and 14 behind 1st which is Hamilton, who are jammy as f**k, as I was beating them twice in the last ten minutes and they came back to win and draw both times the latter they came back to win and had 10 men. mad.gif

Started a wee war with Owen Coyle who I then told I tactically outclassed him after my 2-1 win over him just there, up ye ya dirty Airdrie faggot. biggrin.gif
SampFan101
In the network game i was playing, i started out as manager of Stirling, I got the Myanmar job (how i do not know) did shit, resigned took the North Korea job and resigned from that too, resigned from my striling post to take a break whislt my mate soldiered on. Gerry McCabe was sacked as Dumbarton manager, took the job and won promotion via the playoffs, what a year!

How exactly? Have you been through the editor and changed all of the other clubs appearance fees?

Try giving out new contracts wink.gif

They don't ask for high appearance fees normally in the game.

Came back to my Clyde game, newly relegated, brought in Ross Chisolm, an ageing Steven Pressley (2010 remember) and Garry Teirney.

Judging by my first 2 competitive fixture (2-0 v Dunfermline in the league and 2-0 v Alloa in the cup) this division is my bitch cool.gif

My new, shiny copy of this game arrived in the post today (£20 for a split new sealed copy from E-Bay, only ordered on Thursday!!), so I will post my progress as the game goes on. Started at the Albion, and already had four loan bids rejected laugh.gif

In the first season, I pretty much kept the same squad that we have. Sutton, Kean and Corcoran worked well in various partnerships, and McGinty actually did me a turn occasionally. In the second season, I brought in a few free transfers (Gavin Rae being the most notable one, and signed Martin Woods after letting Sutton (I think) go for 250k.

I'm playing a game right now with Morton and i have a feeling I am going to coast it!
Mushroom
Don't you just love percentage of next sale clauses biggrin.gif

SampFan101
Av won 8 straight games in the league with Morton, best result of the season was a 4-0 win at Airdrie in the Challenge Cup, I signed 3 players from Clyde too because i had a transfer kitty of over 80 grans following a couple of sales wink.gif
supermac
Won my last 5 games to stay up! cool.gif

Splashed the cash big style in the summer including Lennon, Gavin Rae, Mikoliunas, Nish, Jari Litmanen ( ohmy.gif ), McGregor, Grant Murray, Bryson from Clyde, Gary Dempsey, Darren O'Dea etc etc

Offset by the loss of Sutton, Bullock, McGowne, Potter, Baird etc etc
MTJ
Sitting 5th right now with Dundee right now with 43 points from 28 games. This my most recent result. smile.gif

You're just weird. laugh.gif

I started a game as Albion, and had a grand total of ONE shot on target in my first five games (three friendlies, and a league & cup game). This seemed somewhat 'bug-esque' to me, as although I've never been particuarly brilliant at the game, I generally know how to pick a half decent side.

So, I quit the game, installed the patch, and started a new game as Sunderland in the Championship.

1st league game - Sheff Wed (a) - Lost 0-2, shots on target - NIL.

Is it just me?? rolleyes.gif

Well, I beat Barnsley 4-3 in my 3rd league game, so all is well again biggrin.gif

That said, having just purchased Pro Evo 6, Just Cause, Saints Row, and the new Splinter Cell game today , all for the 360, FM may take a back seat for a while.......

It's kinda disappointing for the 360, there's no 'edit team' option. A major oversight.

Went back to FM this afternoon, and beat Rotherham 6-0 in the League Cup, with big Dunc scoring his first for the Mackems since I signed him on a free from Everton.

It's beginning to come together. wink.gif

I thought i'd give myself a bit of a challenge so i edited the database and moved Rangers to the Third Division and removed their star players. I'm currently top having won all my league games. I did lose to Airdrie in the 3rd round of the Challenge Cup at Ibrox, other than that its been rosy smile.gif

Try giving out new contracts wink.gif

Try reading the question wink.gif rolleyes.gif

I asked if you'd been through the editor and changed all the other clubs players contracts. If not then all you've done is create a game where you're finances are ok but the rest of the leagues are screwed. Sorry, but I just dont see the point in playing like that.
Kylesons
im currently trying to join a network game and i have the latest patch 7.0.1 92685
but im getting this :Click to view attachment
Casper Rose
They obviously don't have the same patch as you, to play a network game you need to be running on the same versions and the person who is hosting the network game might have chose to play with the 7.0 version and not the update.
Kylesons
i thought that and they have 7.0 but how i make my game go back to 7.0
Casper Rose
Well, you can host the server and when it gives you choices of what versions to run, choose 7.0 wink.gif .

In my game, I'm West Ham, halfway through the season, going through a shite run just now and I'm 10th at the moment. I sold Dean Ashton and Mascherano (He was a little fucker! But Corinthians got 80% of the sell on fee sad.gif) for £10 million each to Man U and Valencia. I have now realised the importance of quality training and have now assigned my coaches to what they are best at coaching at. I'm also making regimes up for youth players and now have a habit of signing 14/15 year olds to develop them into players for the future, so far I've signed around 10 14/15 year olds and get them tutored by the first team. They are 3rd in the Under 18's league. I'm also about to play Valencia in the knockout phase of the UEFA cup after topping my group.

Or get them to patch it. Why anyone would CHOOSE to run 7.0 now the patch is out boggles me. It still not great, but it a whole lot less buggy!
Kylesons
They have all updated to 7.0.1 smile.gif

Started a game as Aberdeen manager and signed Craig Beattie and Mike McGlinchey on loan from Celtic. Played 12 games with 5 wins, 5 draws and 2 defeats and I am currently on a 6 game unbeaten run which means I am in the CIS Cup Quarter Finals and sitting 5th in the league, 3 points behind league leaders Rangers. 2 behind second placed Inverness, third placed Dundee United and fourth placed Hearts.

My most recent result was my best, a 5-0 win over Falkirk at Pittodrie. Lee Miller scored a double so did Gary Dempsey with Beattie grabbing the other goal.

Where are Celtic?

I've actually seen Rangers win the league more often than not when playing the game which surprises me considering how good a squad Celtic have in real life compared to them

Celtic were sitting in 6th at the time of the post but have now put together a 4 or 5 game winning streak to put them into third. The leagues tight as f**k.

Since the last post I have played 5 games and they've went like this:

CIS Cup Quarter Final - Aberdeen 4 - 1 Hibs (Miller 2, Beattie, Dempsey)
Scottish Premier - Aberdeen 2 - 2 Hearts (Miller, McGlinchey)
Scottish Premier - Rangers 2 - 2 Aberdeen (Beattie 2)
Scottish Premier - Motherwell 3 - 0 Aberdeen
Scottish Premier - Dunfermline 0 - 3 Aberdeen (Smith, Nicholson, Beattie)

I sit 4th in the league now with it really tight:

1st - Dundee United (33pts)
2nd - Rangers (30pts)
3rd - Celtic (29pts)
4th - Aberdeen (28pts)
5th - Inverness (26pts)
6th - Hearts (26pts)

With the January window approaching i've agreed a pre contract with Dunfermline's Gary Mason and signed free agents Duncan Ferguson and Dario Silva because McGlinchey and Beattie are due to leave within 5 days back to Celtic Park.
