C'mon Dave, you know you want that disc too!

You're right, I think the good Dougie Imrie, rather than piss poor one that came on my disc, would be the perfect foil for Wayne Rooney in my Rel Madrid team
In my third season with County came 7th in the SPL in my maiden season. Alex Williams bangs them in for fun as does a boy Carlos from my under 19s.

That bug is really beginning to rip my knitting, and it seems to have spawned another one that wasn't in the pre-patch version.
I've got two 18 year olds playing quite well for the under 19's, so I thought I'd offer them a contract extension with wage hike and F/T training. A couple of weeks went by with no acceptance / refusal from either of them, so I thought i'd check it out. It's now saying they're both out of contract

and when I tried to offer a new one, again nothing happened.
I thought this might be cos they were still in the 19's and I had my assistant taking care of renewals, so I moved them into the first team squad, offered them contracts, and again nothing happens, no "considering a contract offer", no nothing.
Pish.
On a positive note, I'm now top of div 2 after 9 games, and this is with my best 2 players having 1 start each due to injury.
Me too
I did read about the bug of players going out of contract when they refuse an extension/improved offer - cant remember if it was raised in v7 or v7.0.1 .

Being fixed in a mini-patch - or patchette. I believe, next week.
I hope they fix the huge appearance fee bug as well... having to spend half an hour at the start of a game signing my players on new contracts (thus running the risk of them leaving) only so Falkirk don't lose over £11,000 a game paying 11 players £1000+ each week is a pain in the a*rse

I started a new game with QOS with the patch and that problem has gone ... kind of. Looking at some of the other clubs in the same div, they still have players with appearance bonuses up to twice their weekly wage. I've raised it on the SI forum but have had no reply

Anyhoo:
Third Season ended in Second Place, a whopping 17 points behind a Morton team that I beat 3 times.
Had Alloa in the Semi, wasn't confident having lost all 4 league games to them but lo and behold I won 3-0 at The Wreck before losing 2-0 at home.
Had Ross Cty in the final and managed a 2-0 win at Dingwall. Still 2-0 up on aggregate with 25 minutes to go of the second leg when it all went tits up.
Dean Keenan was sent off for a 2nd bookable just as I was preparing to Sub my booked players.
Then in the aftermath Paul Lovering stuck the head on Alex Williams and was also sent off. Threw on my three subs and went 4-4-0, didn't work and Ross Cty scored twice.
2 minutes into extra time Paul Lunan broke a leg and I had to play 28 minutes with 8 men. Alex Williams scored the winning goal with 17 seconds left. ARSE!!!!!!!
Have free transfered 12 players to get my wage bill down and brought in 6 frees from SPL teams. Aiming to build a young squad over the next two seasons.
The new patch is now available to download.

impossibility in your first season.
As proof... I went into the editor and turned miller into.... well the best manager in the game all his relevant stats at 20 (not playing just managerial) his mental stats as well (loyalty etc..) Started a game unemployed... went on holiday for the season and when the I came back from holiday, Clyde Were Sitting Top...... of division 2. They had been relegated.
Avoiding relegation would be a bloody good aim.

I knocked off West Ham in the UEFA Cup, the following Sunday i drew 0-0 with Celtic, and made over £300,000 IN GATE RECEIPTS ALONE! I got 450k for reaching the Group stage as well.
I'm 7 points clear at the top of the SPL too, I think this may be our year
Started my second season with Shire in a good manner, in the 2nd division. Lost 1-0 away at Hamilton, and I should have got a point at least from it. Then it was a 2-0 home win over Cowden, then a 3-0 away win over Forfar, who injured 4 of my players, had 2 men sent off and nine cautioned. Beat 1st division Brechin 3-1 away in the League Cup, and got SPL Partick Thistle in the next round, which I unluckily lost 3-2. Got put out of the Challenge Cup by QOS 2-1, they scored in the last minute. Sitting 2nd in the table
I've brought in Raymond Jellema, Steven Anderson, Willie Dyer, Scott Leitch, Damon Gray(loan from Hibs), Steven Masterton, Ruari MacLennan, Matthew Berkeley, Graeme Churchill, Andy Ferguson & John Fleck(loan from Rangers)
Squad
GK's: Paul Jarvie, Raymond Jellema
Defenders: Steven Anderson, Ruariadh Caulfield, Paul Rudden, Stuart Ferguson, Romauld Bouadji, William Dyer, Damon Gray
Midfielders: Darren Sheridan, Scott Leitch, Steven Masterton, Robbie Arthur, Richard Walker, Grant Smith, Ruari MacLennan
Forwards: Michael Graham, Andy Ferguson, John Fleck, Graeme Churchill, Matthew Berkeley

He is that, If you download FM Genie, a tool (like FM scout) which allows you to see there potential abilities..... He is Immense, As good as players like e.g. mcmanus at celtic (better even!) better than berra... etc.. Immmense...
We're talking 17 for heading tackling and marking, 12 passing for a centre half, all his technical attributes 10+ eccelling 15+ in all the mayjor defensive ones i.e. the mentioned three... his decisions, his anticipation; quality in a word....
In reality his potential is Massive also, already being the finest centre half in this league by some way!
Sao Paulo
Dec 8 2006, 23:21
By the way, Download the 7.0.1. patch, for perhaps the finest keeper in the division, David Hutton
It includes him in it and he's not longer randomly generated (his abilitys, not his person)
Actually..... If you do decide to download the genie (i'll find a link) use it and look at the
Immense Potential of our players
Stephen O'Donnell & Neil McGregor & Bryson Especially, They're SPL quality absoloutely no bother!!!!! well they probably already are sorry, but at there full potential they're scintillating.
The level of technical ability which they are capable of is quite outstanding!
Others that look really good potentially.... David Scott (who is already immense in it from day! kept me in the league!!!) chris and craig at the back wind up with Immense defensive quality, Malone McGowan And McHale all also become truly talented.

There's been an update to the patch released 2 weeks ago, best to use a mirror rather than from SI direct.
I got it to download earlier, from Rapidshare.
With the inclusion of Marvin and Armand Oné, as well as a load of our loan signings, it makes being Raith boss much easier. I'm up to the quarter-finals of the challenge cup, and I've won every game except a draw at home to Brechin, and an extra-time loss to St Johnstone in the aforementioned Quarters.

11 games to go in season 3, 1 point behind Dundee in the race for promotion from division 2, 11 points clear of 3rd, so total 2-horse race.
I've been riddled with injuries, don't know whether this is down to changing training schedules from general (where they've been for the last 2 seasons) to specific or not, but it's definitely hindered me. William Stanger, whom i've got on loan from les Huns, has missed all but about 7 games so far with 3 separate 2 month injuries.
Had a transfer budget for the first time this year, paid £5k for Robert Sloan and another £5k for Kevin Dickov from Stenny, then another £40k in January for David Templeton. High potential, but 0 goals in 5 games, then....injured, quelle surprise.

I bought Football Manager 2007 for Xbox 360, however can only get to the main screen. It wont let me go to the start game or load game icons. I feel that this is due to just a faulty game, however before I send it back could it be because I've only got the basic xbox system with a memory card?
Thanks in advance

the reason for this is that you dont have a hard drive for your 360 which is needed to run the game

The best way to try and get FM running on your home machine would be uninstalling a few unused programmes and only run FM when your playing it. I had your same problem on my old PC with FM 06 and it seemed to work when I did the above.
