What kind of formation do you play? And did you have a guy giving him certain types of assist (e.g. ball to feet or whatever)?

He was just flat-out shite for me, like 5 goals in 30 appearances and little else.

Nothing as complex as that, my tactics are 4-4-2 attacking, with the team instructions set halfway between attacking and all out attack, closing down often, short passing.

If things aren't going my way, I swap to a 4-3-1-2 with my right winger (William Stanger) moving into the AMC position.
Like I say, I've sold him on now, but he worked well.

Dean Shiels is missing his mate - he's not scored yet (5 games into the season) and has been sent off for kicking an opponent twice! mad.gif laugh.gif

Is it really worth downloading it though? Especially if like me you've already edited your exiting databse then if you download that you will have to make all the changes again.

It keeps the original data and any edited data you have already made so I have three databases I can start games from now.

The patch patches the game files, not the database, though there is a data update included as a new database file with the patch.

Essentially, if you run the patch, all the bugs that have been fixed will be fixed, and you'll have the option of starting with the data from the original game database OR the data update included with the patch OR your own updated version of the original database.

I'm struggling like hell on this game!

I'm in the SPL with Morton. (Yes, I started a new game when I got sacked first time round, couldn't be arse going Israel manager and thats the only job that was being offered)

Played 26, Won 2, Drawn 3, Lost 21, -41 GD.

Admittedly my team is poor(didn't get much of a transfer budget), and it doesnt help that Stevenson is demanding a transfer request.

Steven Arnold GK
David Mcgurn GK
Zbigniew Malkowski GK
Justin Miller SW, DRC
Craig Black DRL
Michael Hart DR
Stewart Devine DL
Simon Dunne DC
Ryan Harding DC
Kevin Ross DC
Sam Woods DC
Jamie Clarke D/WBR, DM
Jim McAlister WBL, AMRL
Scott Mclaughlin DM
Darren Brady MC
Kevan Hurst AMRL
Paul McGowan AMRC, FC
William Stanger AMRC, FC
Peter Till AMRC, ST
Ryan Russel AML *brilliant player btw*
Mika Aaritalo AMLC, FC *another brilliant player*
Kevin Cawley AM/FC
Jamie Stevenson AM/FC
Graham Carle ST
Lee Miller ST

I have Scott McLaughlin tutoring Scott McKellar and he has improved dramatically, and thats about the only positive.

Bloody frustrating.
SampFan101
I'm in with a shot at the SPL title right now with Thistle, 3rd in the league, 4 points behind Rangers and Hearts. A win for me over Rangers and a defeat for Celtic will guarentee European football at Firhill next year.

What a run! Won 5 out of my last 6 to spring from the pack.

Play-offs coming up, unfortunately QoS are a good team and 3 draws and a defeat is my record against them this season. Dundee are the Div 1 participants.

Not that bothered if I don't go up, thanks to our cup windfall from Ibrox my wage budget is up to 7k p/w, which will be the highest in the division if Dundee don't come down, so I'd fancy a good shot at winning the league.

I'll leave that til tomorrow though.

That's a really good touch adding stuff like that into the game. Although it doesn't happen every time as he accepted surgery with me no problem.

A tip to get good players cheap is around January look at the out of contract players (espeically foreign players still not got a club from the summer) and then you can generally get good quality players cheap. For example I've Tomasz Radzinski, Jay-Jay Okocha, Christian Vieri and Hossam Ghali for under £2k per week.

Went on a good run at the turn of the year, picking up Manager of Month for February. Currently 5 points behind leaders Stenny, in second place, with 7 games to go. Nicky Reilly and Roddy Hunter went back to their clubs in January, and I brought in Stuart Ferguson and Darren Sheridan

Darren Sheridan
Paul Stewart
Derek Ure/Stephen Adam

Graeme Dorrans
Michael Graham

subs: Anton Nugent(GK), Gary Wild, Ure/Adam, Andy Smith, and Alan Ward

Other first team players are Joe Boyle and Stuart Ferguson. Grant Smith, Richard Walker and Andy Brand are all out with long term injuries.

Lost 0-3 on aggregate to Queens in the playoff semi finals (I hope that's not an omen for tomorrow!). sad.gif 2 even games in terms of possession and chances, unfortunately my strikers had a nightmare in the first leg, which we should have won comfortably but lost 1-0.

Still, I now have a wage budget of £7.5k a week, up from £4k this season, and can offer £500 p/w for my key players, so should hopefully be able to get the quality needed to win promotion to the 1st in 2008/09 smile.gif

Into my second season as St Mirren manager in the new game, and having finished 8th in my irst season, I fancied a push at the top 6 this year. Didn't bank on starting the season with a run of 12 games without a win, and only being spared bottom spot by Falkirk's ineptitude to even draw matches. When the run of wins started though, it did so in style, with a 2-0 win at Love Street against Rangers biggrin.gif

Played 26 games now, and I'm sitting 11th (well clear of Falkirk, and only a point behind Gretna) on 24 points. New signings Martin Woods and Davidas Cesnauskas have been my star men, and Chris Smith will, when I decide I can't hold on to him, make me a lot of money smile.gif

I may as well post this on here...

Finished 3rd in my first SPL season with Thistle, could have been second had half my squad not gone to the European U-21 Championships. My star player, me went with them and subsequently lost out on 2nd to Rangers on goal difference. I'm all set for our first European game, at home to Czech side Sigma Olomouc smile.gif

2-1 down at Dundee at HT, camt back and won 5-3 with Imrie getting 4 and Arbuckle got one cool.gif

Stirling Albion in the cup next, East Stirling got Hibs away! laugh.gif
Russ.
Just had one fucker of an end to the season. With Celtic clearly running away with the league it was always between Rangers, Hibs and me (Falkirk) Anyway it went to the last game of the season with Rangers 2nd with 66 points, Hibs 3rd with 64 and me 4th also with 64. I had to beat Hearts and jope Hibs dropped points against Motherwell and that Celtic beat Rangers.

I comfortably beat Hearts 2-0 and Hibs were drawing against 10 man Motherwell and Rangers wre also drawing 0-0 with Celtic, but a last minute Nakamura penalty ment that I finsihed above both of them and into second place biggrin.gif

The only problem now is that I'm in the Champions League but my budget isn't great and neither is my squad. So I expect to get fucked out the qualifying rounds but I nevr expected to finish 2nd so who knows.

Remember in the last page how I showed Hearts losing to Vale of Leithen in the Scottish Cup at Tynecastle? Well, they've just lost 2-0 to 9 man Airdrie, who had Sandy Stewart playing, in the League Cup Final!

Eased into the UEFA Cup 1st round proper with a 7-1 aggregate success over Sigma, Craig Dargo scored both in the 2-0 second leg win, lets hope for easy tie to put us in the Group Stages

just beat Rangers for the first time there, 2-1 the first goal we have conceded this season. We are clear at the top and i get the feeling we are beginning to hit top form without my star player biggrin.gif

SPL clubs offer me guys for nothing all the time.

Not got one out of it though, nearly got Hemdani, but he chose the Midden instead.

I got relegated from the SPL with Clyde so decided to try a new game.

Two managers, me as Scotland manager, a slightly altered name as manager of a random Scottish team which turned out to be..........Albion Rovers sad.gif

Pre-season was pish, lost every game including Spartans and Edinburgh City.

4 competitive games gone - still chasing the holy grail of actually scoring, lost 2-0 to Dumbarton and Arbroath in the league and out of both cups 2-0 from Dundee and 3-0 from Clyde.

Brought in Peter Cherrie, Roddy Hunter (he's got to be able to do a job at this level surely ph34r.gif ) Niall something and Darren Smith.

Not all of them have played all the games but they're not helping a great deal.

Alot of my team have just been promoted from the youths which is slightly worrying, the average age of my team is 18 unsure.gif
CK
I doubt anyone can beat this following game for dramatics

Scenario: I(East Stirling) am top of the league by a point, with two games to go. Stenhousemuir are second, and play the bottom team in the last game of the season. The second last game sees me play Stenny at Ochilview. If I lose, then they go two points clear above me, if I win, I secure the title

Awful start, as I go in behind 3-0 at half time, with ex-Shire man Ian Diack scoring a hat trick. I pull one back, though it is quickly cancelled out. Bitter rivals Stenny lead 4-1 with less than half an hour to play. Though, suddenly, I score 4 in the space of twelve minutes to make it 5-4 to Shire. At this point I was jumping up and down, then looked back at the screen, to see I had condeeded a penalty! Diack to score his 4th, surely? No! Paul Jarvie saves!! After a tense last couple of minutes, I prevail, and win the league!!

That bug is really beginning to rip my knitting, and it seems to have spawned another one that wasn't in the pre-patch version.

I've got two 18 year olds playing quite well for the under 19's, so I thought I'd offer them a contract extension with wage hike and F/T training. A couple of weeks went by with no acceptance / refusal from either of them, so I thought i'd check it out. It's now saying they're both out of contract blink.gif and when I tried to offer a new one, again nothing happened.

I thought this might be cos they were still in the 19's and I had my assistant taking care of renewals, so I moved them into the first team squad, offered them contracts, and again nothing happens, no "considering a contract offer", no nothing. blink.gif

Pish.

On a positive note, I'm now top of div 2 after 9 games, and this is with my best 2 players having 1 start each due to injury.
