How far away is the station from Recreation Park?

Cheers.

About 5 mins walk if you're a fit healthy specimen like me. Ahem.

What, there isn't a specific Recreation Park station?
You'd think like all other modern day hyperstadia more suitable transport links would be provided... sad.gif

I've actually always considered the Rec one of the easier grounds to get to. It's easy enough to drive to and the bus links from Stirling are pretty good.

I imagine this has made it even better.

There's also talk of a hovercraft running from Kirkcaldy up the Forth to Alloa for some reason ( blink.gif ) which would be quality when full of drunken (no really) Rovers fans.

Think the idea has been binned as it relied on huge subsidies from the tax payer. As someone whois old enough to remember hovercrafts on the Clyde - I wouldnt recomend them in rough weather after a few pints

Kirkcaldy to Alloa!!? Bizarre.
I didn't even know Alloa was on the coast.

What's hapening with the Kdy/Edinburgh hovercraft then?
That was a good idea.

With apologies to Alloa fans, I thought the obvious answer to that question would have been to allow Stirling supporters access away from the town without losing their car wheels

Now that's just lies.
The West End of Greenock is a leafy conurbation of middle to upper class housing and some very swanky residences.
I'll forgive you for your ignorance, as you display it so often across the board I can only pity you.

Alloa Railway Station has been moved to Methil after a late intervention by Willie Gray.

Excellent. About bloody time too.

The reconnection of Alloa to the mainline network leaves Levenmouth (population 33,500+) as the largest urban centre in Scotland not accessible by rail. The 4 mile track is completely in place linking Methil to Thornton Junction and a campaign building for the limited sum needed to reconnect.

So going by rail to Bayview (almost to the doorstep) should be possible in years to come if common sense prevails.

If that was the sole criteria, there'd be a minimal rail network in Scotland.

Better times are coming to Levenmouth ..... if they can keep the drugs at bay. .

Negative statement. Its far from being a shitehole. New Bayview is situated between Leven and Methil in a not too bad area. Granted, Methil is in dire need of a facelift but Leven is fine in comparison to many places these days. Methil was a typical hard working class town and never pretended to be anything otherwise. No different to Kirkcaldy, Arbroath or even Alloa. The fucking Tories hammered the last nails into these towns in the 80`s. That cunting whore Thatcher should be ripped to bits and nailed to every county in Scotland.
Sign of the times, but at least there is improvement on the horizon.
As for drugs, show me a working class town in the UK that doesn`t have a junkie scum problem and i`ll lick San Starko from one corner to the next!

I lost all respect with Brown before he came into power, I'm pretty sure he knew sending troops into Iraq was the wrong thing to do but stayed silent on the whole matter and done nothing as he didn't want to risk not becoming Prime Minster dry.gif

I bet he wishes he had said something now! laugh.gif

Why waste a couple of bullets. Just feed them to the dogs, at least then they would have been useful once in life, providing the dogs with a meal.

Surely Gordon Brown's season ticket must be the most expensive in the UK. Just think what it costs us all when he goes to the footie. And I bet you he doesn't have to pay the £14 at the gate.
