Two mid table teams with new managers? Why? rolleyes.gif

Can anyone explain why the draw has been made at this seemingly ridiculously early stage (i.e. about a fortnight after the conclusion of the 07/08 edition)? Do they always do this?

After all, the usual drill for this cup is to play the first round in February, then the ERSJFA forget all about it until round about the last week of May, whereupon somebody thinks, "Oh shit, we've still got the last five rounds of our flagship cup competition to play!" Then the quarters, semis and final get scheduled into the space of 24 hours and it becomes a sort of war of attrition so that the last team with players who haven't yet died of exhaustion, or aren't on their summer holiday, lift the prestigious trophy.

So are they planning to give it a bit more prominence this year and spread the rounds across the season?

They are hoping to get a few rounds in before xmas, and they are hoping to ditch either the brown cup or st machael to ease fixture congession, they already agreed to ditch a tayside and fife local cup.

The people who organise the east region fixtures are incompetent and pander to SOME of the clubs by allowing them to suit themselves at times.Other clubs are shafted annually by them, it depends on which club you are in my experience. huh.gif

So you're actually suggesting that the ERSJFA is corrupt rather than incompetent?

Some teams are seen as more equal than others imo. Yes they usually are incompeten evry season especially near the end. The last two East of Scotland cups have been a joke. its supposed to be our biggest tournament and is a shambles mad.gif

The first round was actually December last season but the basic point that has been made that the later rounds were rushed is valid. The region have obviously taken this into account and have rectified this for next season.

I understand it's the Kingdom Kegs Cup.
