Quality post again. Do you not think it would be a bit of a miss match picking the top Highland teams and then picking poor Junior teams and one that doesn't exist! Who are Litlae Rose.
Maybe you should fvck off back to your 1st division forum and slaver your shite there.

I saw Huntly 3 times last season and they played better stuff than the Rose managed between xmas and the end of the season.
I think the top highland teams would struggle against the top Juniors

Thankyou - a sensible post.
I will reserve judgement but was surprised to see the Campbell Money is the manager at Auchinlek. Hey may attract some decent players and raise the profile a bit. Any other ex-pro's either playing in the Juniors or managing?

When did Campbell Money leave Cumnock? There are lots of ex-pro's playing and managing in the Juniors.
Greg Denham is manager of Camelon, Brian Carrigan, Stephen Pinkowski, Gordon Herd, Danny Smith, Graeme Landels, Ian Gallagher & Mark Tyrell are all at the Rose and have played in the 3rd division upwards and Gordon Rae is Coach.
Bathgate have Paul McGrillen, Graeme & Frazer Love Stephen Docherty (probably more than that) with Sean Sweeny & alan Lawerence as coaches.
Jamie Dolan has just walked away from being Broxbun manager. Gary Bolan is kicking about as a player/coach, Ray Mckinnon is a manager, George O'Boyle is coach at Carnoustie.
There is a start for you
John Brogan at Yoker.
Shaggy Mitchell at EK
Budgie McGhie at Clydebank
I think it would be pretty even between the top Junior sides and the top Highland League sides. Picking the top Junior sides would be tougher than picking the top Highland League sides though.
Top Highland League sides being- Vale, Keith, Locos, Cove. Could add Buckie & Huntly.
Top Juniors- Pollok, Lochee Utd, Linlithgow Rose, Camelon, Auchinleck, Irvine Meadow etc etc.

Landels - 8 minutes as a sub for Raith Rovers
Smith - 4 senior starts
Pinkowski - 1 senior start
I wouldn't say they had much in the way of senior careers.
Carrigan was successful but didn't handle it very well. Herd had one good year at Dumbarton. Tyrell played a reasonable number of games but it was during the Shire's 'Tenner A Week' glory period.
Who did Gallagher play for?

Stevie Kirk (Motherwell, Stoke, Beast Fife) is the boss at Lochgelly Albert. I believe Ally Mitchell (Killie, Beast Fife) has taken over at Lochore Welfare

tommy byrce... kilbirnie ladeside ex queen of the south the list could go on.. as for is juniors better jesus a countrymile springs to mind..the super league first divisions (quote) first division not premier would walk into highland league. i dont rate the north juniors this is reason highland looks better. to the not so bright people around that cant open there eyes and see the pryamyd system would easily prove the gulf that the east and west juniors have over the highland drivell.. i personally have watched friendlys between both and have seen 10 nil humpings of our so called next tier to the pros.. also annnan from the south league who are trying for gretnas place is another joke..your perfect example are girvan stepping down from same league where annan are now and they barely handle ayrshire district...anyway sorry for my rant needed it off my chest

The Premier teams from West and East could easily handle the Highland league. Like the above poster. A pyramid system should be introduced to get the poorly ambitous lower sctor 3rd division teams out and get the fresh talents of teh quality junior sides in.

We saw a few Junior v non-league Senior clashes in the Scottish Cup last season, and they help us reach half a conclusion.
Scottish Cup 1st Round
St. Cuthbert Wanderers 2 Pollok 6
Newton Stewart 0 Linlithgow Rose 6
Culter 7 Hawick Royal Albert 0
Girvan 2 Forres Mechanics 0
Scottish Cup 2nd Round
Culter 2 Vale of Leithen 1
Linlithgow Rose 4 Spartans 1
Scottish Cup 3rd Round
Linlithgow Rose 1 Dalbeattie Star 0
Culter 1 Huntly 3
Of the two Junior v Highland ties, both involved very weak Junior sides. One won, one lost.
As regards ex-professionals playing or managing, it depends on the club. A lot of Juniors at the highest level have been attached to SFL clubs but as was pointed out above, they may not have had glittering Senior careers.
Of the 21 players that finished the season at Lok, 12 had played competitive SPL or SFL football.
I'd have been very happy if the Rose had drawn any Highland League club in any of the early rounds of the Scottish Cup. I'd be surprised if the Pollok lads didn't feel the same way.

I think the top 5 in the SHL would give Lok or Rose a very tough game. I haven't seen a whole lot of Highland football but I did see Buckie play Beith a few years back and they were far superior technically.

Being involved in the North Juniors and having seen a fair bit of Highland & Junior football, I would say that the top Highland teams and the top Junior teams from both West & East would be pretty level. I think you could have some cracking games between them all.
