I don't think so.
I haven't signed up but got the e-mail telling me about it at both home and office e-mail addresses. There was an opportunity a few years ago to sign up for e-mail alerts of breaking news on the website. It got used extensively for a few months and then pretty much forgotten about. That's the only thing I've signed up for and certainly the only thing using my work e-mail so they must have used the old mailing circular for that to send round the e-mail.
Or if you didn't sign up for that then I guess maybe they've just added the addresses of those who have signed up for this to the first list.
I signed up to the travel company's website the day it was announced on the Queens OS. Until that point I hadn't registered for anything related to them.
I'm pretty sure I am also a "member" of the qosfc.com internet supporters club or whatever it was known as, but I registered for that years ago with a different e-mail address.
As for the constant criticism of the OS, or the club in general, for not "keeping the fans up-to-date" enough, it is just ludicrous. When does the local or national media ever have anything to report about Queens that we haven't already read about on the OS? Half the time this so called news, be it in the Sun, the Border news or the BBC website, is a direct quote from the OS.
Sites like this and the Mad board are for speculation, and for all the development experts to discuss their flawless ideas for regenerating Palmerston and the surrounding site.
The OS is for communicating facts, and they do this IMO.
