In the race for league status??
AllanJM
Purely because of travelling distance if we ever play them I think we'll go for one of the Edinburgh teams. Of the two probably Spartans because of the facilities.
blue_1870
I'd be most surprised if Stranraer didn't vote for Annan Athletic, i'd hope either them or Spartans get in.
fifepup

Shibuya
Pasadena United.

If one of our directors manages to put a cross in the box he will have been more effective than Derek Carcary.

Our lot will probably fill in the ballot paper wrongly, or put something like 'we vote soccer yes game fun woo-hoo'
marf-1870
Annan I would think/hope.
kilgour11
Gretna ohmy.gif
Republic_Of_Scotland
Spartans, due to distance. Also their cracking facilities and their manager is an ex Rover.

Spartans I would hope. They would be my preference.
doulikefish
cove rangers i would think

So what your all saying is that you reckon the vote will go along the lines of geography from your clubs.

Stranraer - Annan
Peterhead - Cove
Rovers - Spartans
East Fife - Spartans

Is this the Eurovision song contest?

Going on those lines, its a toss up between Spartans or Embra City.

The only thing I would hope for is a club with more potential for a successful club than Gretna. ie fanbase and potential investment.

Suits me, I hate long away trips. Embra City would be even better as it's not out in the burbs of Embra.

The Edinburgh teams also have the chance of drawing a decent crowd occasionally.

Have to agree with that. What the SFL needs is a forward thinking club who realise that they have to live within their means and understand the importance of youth development. A decent potential fanbase would be good too. Pretty much everything Gretna weren't.

No idea who we'll vote for but I personally would like to see Annan get in. We've done the "3rd Edinburgh club" routine before and nobody was interested. Meadowbank's crowds were non existent and they ended up being moved to Livingston. Annan seem more of a "town team" who would have a community totally behind them with potential to expand.

I hope we vote for Annan to be honest

This has been done to death in the EoS and Division 3 forums but writing off Spartans/City because of Meadowbank just isnt valid (in fact its simplistic and lazy). Meadowbank actually did very well in their short spell in the SFL rising up the leagues (would have made the Premier but for league reconstruction) and bringing through some fine young players. One indeed who represented Scotland in the World Cup. People say their crowds were poor but they were a sustainable club, something Livingston havent been. In their final years they were run down by a rogue owner with the intention of forcing through the Livingston move. Thats no reflection on Meadowbank. "Nobody was interested" is a ludicrous comment.

Spartans and Edinburgh City are actually better placed than Thistle as both clubs have excellent youth setups and are as such rooted in their communities in a way Meadowbank never were. Spartans are probably just ahead of City in this current process due to their new ground but both have the potential to be good additions.

Of the rest I would have no objections to either Annan or Cove, both well run clubs with decent facilities (and a new ground planned for Cove). Preston are also a decent club but probably the outsiders here.

As to who Alloa will vote for Ive no idea.

Would hope it's Cove - for travelling reasons - but enjoy trips to Embra. Only hope the Forth Bridge can cope with the visiting Brechin hordes.

I used to teach at Ainslie Park school - would be nice to go back there for an enjoyable reason for a change!

They're even building a new one because the currant one can't hold the surges that are coming down from Brechin every 2nd Saturday.

Considering the Rovers was one of the clubs who voted for the SPL, our record of voting for things isn't that great.

With this in mind, I'm going to go for Gretna.

How much worse were Meadowbank's crowds compared to Stirling's crowds?

Our crowds are shite but even on a bad year we can probably rely on 550 turning up at home games. As I'm sure you will remember from your many trips to the Commonwealth Stadium there was barely ever more than a couple of hundred souls spread amongst the orange seats. If you want that back then good luck to you.

I appreciate there is a strong "it must be Edinburgh" feeling among some posters (and certain sections of the media) but I'm still not convinced the citizens of Auld Reekie are interested in another SFL team. Don't really see why people who already support the plethora of senior non-league and junior sides would start watching Spartans or Edinburgh City. As both of these sides struggle to get crowds in three figures they will need new support from somewhere.

My preference would be Annan as it's a fair geographical replacement for Gretna, has good youth teams and a town (ie proper community) to get behind it huh.gif

We also voted for a 10 team premier league which resulted in our first visit to the premier leadign to relegation.

I think we should vote for Mugabe.
