I thought I'd put this on here to get other fans opinions on this.

Before the end of last season Rovers offered fans the chance to buy season tickets at last year's prices. This of course meant that they would be quids in if the prices increased this year (which they would have it we'd gone up). It also gave the club some money to help out over the close season.

Anyone who bought one also went into a prize draw for a meal at a local hotel and hospitality at a Rovers game and were given a 10% off voucher for the club shop.

The club have now announced that as we didn't win promotion the prices will remain the same as last year.

Surprise surprise this has led to several Rovers fans whingeing about being misled by the club, cheated out of their money etc and are insisting that the prices should have been increased. It is already only £12 cheaper to buy a season ticket than to pay £14 for each home game as it is so an increase would have meant an increase in the price of individual games.

How would other fans feel about this?

Hardly misleading. If we got promoted, then prices would probably have been put up. It was a gamble really, and those who took it have parted with their cash sooner rather than later. Crying over spilt milk in my opinion. Of course, they wouldn't have been complaining if we'd been promoted. Fools and their money etc.

The fact it works out only £12 cheaper to buy a season ticket than to pay £14 every week is a sad indictment of just how poor value for money our season tickets are. I would quite happily shell out that extra £12 over the course of 8 or so months than splash £200+ in one go.

I'd also hazard a guess that our season tickets are also more expensive than many in Div 1. Further price increases would be unjust IMO.

Is that including the cup games you get free?

The paradox that is Raith Rovers fans: Never happy unless there's something to moan about.

Cup Game's can't really be considered. We could be drawn away from home in all cups and be knocked out at the first hurdle. I certainly don't consider them when I see the price of a season ticket.

From an outsiders view it does not seem a great deal saving only twelve pounds buying a season ticket over paying weekly, especially if for what ever reason you were forced to miss a game or two you would be out of pocket but as a supporter you may feel it benefits the club to give them the money up front. If Cup games are included this puts a slightly different slant on it but I thought this was a thing of the past as half the gate total has to go to the opposition.

Off course it was fekin misleading, most supporters expected the season ticket price to rise no matter what division we were going to be in.As opposed to hiding behind apply for your early bird season ticket and be guaranteed season tickets at current 2007-2008 prices they would have been as well going on a Bob Geldof rant "gie me your money right now, were skint".

Never mind we`ve still scored as those that choose to pay at the gate will be hit with an increase

I'm glad the prices haven't gone up as I didn't take up the early bird offer but I am now looking to buy my first ever season ticket smile.gif £160 for a college student I believe. I think we could sell a lot more than normal this year as fans with season tickets will get first dibs on tickets for the away games at East Fife, which can't be a bad thing if it gets more people going regularly to home games even if we aren't doing so well.

I'll be at Starks Park on Monday to purchase it cool.gif

As for all the people moaning about the prices not going up..get a grip rolleyes.gif Some folk just aren't happy without having a good old whinge about something dry.gif

So far there's no information about Ayr season tickets.

Utter pish.

You said that most supporters "expected" there to be price rises. This was sheer speculation, the club had no involvement in these expectations. The club said nothing about price rises, these "price rises" were nothing but speculation between supporters. The club has done nothing to mislead the fans.

If the club had made a statement stating that price rises were likely, then perhaps yes, we would have been misled.

There is no chance in hell the club is responsible for supports expecting price rises when they issued no source indicating they were likely. Supporters claimed they were likely, bought early and now appear to rue their decision. No-one's fault but their own.

I'm sure he would, no doubt he lies in his bed at night crying himself to sleep over the fact that he's no longer a director at Starks!!!

I think you vastly over-estimate the interest in East Fife, Jack. I thought you'd fixed your heroin problem in Season 2, but obviously the decline of CTU has put you over the edge again.

On a serious note the Raith fanbase is like one big dysfunctional family and nothing ever seems to change.

Why are human beings so fucking thick-headed that they can realise they all want the same thing and work together instead of constantly in-fighting like a bunch of infants!!!

So, let me get this right.
Some of our fans on fantalk are actually complaining that the season ticket prices haven't gone up...!

Whatever next, booing one of our own players when they sco.........oh, wait

Please send this message to the board room, once they do it, I am sure the fans will follow.

Anyway enough of this negativity the season ticket is a great deal to watch the league champions every other week. I would buy one but Gareth Wardlaw is going to bankrupt me this season.

This is my main complaint. I think when you buy a season ticket you should be receiving £30 or £40 off the cost of paying at the gate to watch each league game. Our pricing structure is all wrong that way, it doesn't encourage anyone to buy a season ticket.

This is exactly why I don't buy a season ticket. Due to work or family commitments I'll usually miss 4-5 home games each season. Therefore, the season ticket gives me nothing.

I'm confused. And bored. Are you early birds upset because you parted with your money early for no great reward? You haven't lost anything, except the virtual prospect of a potential saving against a price which hadn't been decided when you paid up. Where's the bad thing? in what way are you worse off, and if you can't answer that, what's your beef? Buy it 6 weeks ago, buy it next Monday, you pay the same. You haven't been ripped off.

I can't believe I've taken the time to write this much on this subject. Can we get a sensible topic started please, or back to fishing for tattie bogles?

'Mon the 17 year old Australian goal machine!
