Its a stupid question, every lower league team has passionate fans, I don't know how you are supposed to measure or compare the passion of these fans, but anyone who supports their local team instead of being an old firm goon is worthy of the tag of a passionate football supporter.

I'd imagine the question is being asked as in the 'noisiest supporter'. I'm not sure 'passionate' is the correct word, as it does lead to confusion for some people. But I'd have thought most people would be able to figure it out. If I'm wrong, then I totally agree with you. There's nothing worse than an OF glory hunter.

The noisiest fans at Starks last season were Queens Park by a country mile- the rest barely made any noise, with Berwick, Ayr, Cowden (briefly) and Airdrie being the only other set of supporters that sang at all. I think. huh.gif

The away supports that visit Starks are in general quite appalling, both in numbers and noise. Which I fail to understand seeing as we only managed to win eight from nineteen home matches last season.

To be honest, I think that's what's being asked, 'cause...

Yeah i'd have to agree with that. Queens Park had a good vocal support at the two games at Starks park as well as the two times we played them in Glasgow.

"I agree that most away supporters that come to Stark's Park are a disgrace to their club."

Nah, it's just that they're too far away. The ground is too big and spaced out to cope with such small crowds at opposite ends.

I agree. Stair Park generates a decent atmosphere becasue it's small and the fans are right beside each other. Stark's Park looks like an apaling ground for atmosphere, like Bayview.

I hope, when we get tarracing, that away fans are allowed in.

Correctamundo.

However, in Kilgours defence, he is a bawbag.

It's a factor, but it's not the be all and end all. Brechin fans were right next to us for the second home match, and made no noise then either. Supporters sit right next to each other at New Bayview, and GordonEF is telling us that there's a shocking atmosphere there.

The ground is obviously too big for a Second Division team, of course it is, but an atmosphere can be generated when fans actually want to.

It's the seats too. People are far more likely to make an atmosphere if they're standing.

The game vr's Morton last year when they won the league had a good atmosphere because there was a half descent amount of both fans who wanted to sing.

Bawbaggery is never an excuse.

Anyway, what makes a "passionate" fan? Is it buying the replica kit? attending as many fixtures as possible? signing at games regardless of the score, or possibly some combination of the three? perhaps even all three?

Surely the most passionate fans are the ones one who shag their burds in the toilets at half time. Steamy passion in the breeze block love shack that is the South Stand toilets.

Never found Starks to be the kinda place where the fans are likely to sing all day, there's no banter because the stand is far too big for the away crowd. To be fair, there's not been any atmosphere at an Ayr away game since our first trip to Gretna.
BIGQ FAE KDY
The stadium hasnt been the same since the stands were built as before then on the old terracing the atmosphere was brilliant every home game.We tend to have a better sing song at away games now but whether home or away we have always to watch what is sung or how many swear words are spouted.Reason being if you go over the score and make it look like your actually at a football match showing passion and supporting your team you get slagged off.

I think we did OK considering how terrible our team were and we had lost 9-2 the week before. Not great numbers but from what I remember we didnt stop singing all day and I had a sore throught for days after. tongue.gif

I am hoping that 2nd division teams will be impressed by the new atmosphere at stair Park next season, in the last few months of last season it picked up remarkably, I know some people will slate this but honestly those people who came to the last few games will agree that the home end of the coo shed (old stand) is noisy now, this is thanks to all be it a big group of academy kids coming to the game with a drum, and actually wanting to sing songs. They are the up and coming support for Stranraer and apart from them being just a bit out of tune sometimes they really do add to the atmosphere inside the stadium which in all honesty has been sorely missed since we drew with Morton to clinch promotion to the first division many seasons ago. Hopefully you will agree when you visit our small town and you will add to the atmosphere!!!!

Magnificent. Just when you think the twa_hoops is a certainty for the dunce cap award this season, a new contender emerges. rolleyes.gif

Yes, the wall of relentless noise from all 175 of you in your flat caps and shell bottoms will certainly intimidate the visiting teams. I can see that being the basis of your impeccable home record.

Oh dear. sad.gif
